I've been ripped off many times. The last time I was sent a pair of cargo pants that were advertised at size 36 waist. Although they turned out to be a 34 having been shrunk after many years of poor use. They were t even fit to throw away.
I bought a pair of pants. In the ad, the seller claimed the pants were size 38 waist. When I received the pants they were a size 32. Mistakes happen so I initiated a return. It wasn't enough for them to review the ad a look at the photo I sent with a tape measure showing the actual waist size. They want natural light photos, perfectly placed pants with no wrinkles, photos of the inseam, waist, rise, and length, and they wanted it within 48 hours. I sent them what they requested, and their response was to request the same information again. They suck at returns. I have cancelled my account that has been active for 8 years.
Poshmark does not seem to care about purchasers. I bought a pair of men's size 9.5 keen sandals from the men's sandals section at Poshmark. What arrived were women's size 9.5. They are shorter than men's size 9.5 without question, and I sent Poshmark photos proving that a 9.5 is not always a 9.5. Now they're making me jump through hoops, and they are making me feel like I am in front of a harsh jury. I will never shop at Poshmark again. Horrible policies and service. You can't even call them to talk. They simply don't take calls.
But don't take my word for it. Check out the thousands of reviews here, on other review sites, and 1499 complaints with the Better Business Bureau (not including mine and at the time I wrote this).
The first time I tried to buy something on this site, the item arrived with a stain. When I reported it, the seller attacked me verbally, stating that I must have smeared something on the cloth so I could steal her money. I understand that these sellers don't get paid upfront so they may be a little more paranoid than other vendors, but with 1450 successful transactions on Ebay, I have never been accused like that. It's not about the money, it's knowing that a seller will reach out and try to come to an accommodation. Needless to say I won't be exposing myself to that sort of abuse again.
This company has the PR spiel but no honesty to go with it. I spent $50 on a pair of jeans that are several sizes too small. Holding them up next to an existing pair is a comedy scene. "No returns is our policy, we are sorry... blah blah blah.' Adding insult to injury they offered me $5 off my next purchase with them. Buyer beware.
Buyer Beware: Poshmark does not stop sales of counterfeit products; no recourse for buyers! I ordered a set of two pillowcases listed as 100% silk and was hugely disappointed when the package arrived – on opening it, it was clear that the material used to make the pillowcases was not 100% silk, but instead cheesy acetate/polyester fabric. I immediately reached out to Poshmark, but they ruled in favor of the seller, even though I sent plenty of data showing that the items were counterfeit. This apparently happens A LOT in looking at other folks' reviews.
I have a simple issue to resolve that the seller cannot help me with their message box is full and poshmark will not respond in a timely manner. This company is so poorly run. Also I've heard from sellers that they are not getting paid when they are supposed to! That's terrible.
I stayed up last night taking pictures of 3 clothing items and entering good descriptions for each item. I posted a pair of brand new never worn Born brand suede boots. I woke up this morning to read an email that they had removed my listings because the Born boots are a counterfeit item! I'm so upset and insulted. I tried to remove my page and be done with Poshmark but it won't allow me to delete my 'closet' as they call it.
Bought a Large tote according to pictures and no measurements listed. Received a mini tote no bigger than a large sandwich bag. Refund denied. They took seller side because she's a high producer and offered me a $5 shopping credit after I spent $55 plus 7 in shipping
I was a big posher, sold several items and bought many from other sellers. My shoe experience was the worst. Don't buy shoes on Poshmark, if a seller says only size but no width description, then you are out of luck. Exactly what happened to me, not only did they refuse to allow me to decline the purchase, they accepted the charges on my behalf even after I had told them the shoes were a no-go. I emailed back and forth as there's is no customer service number for quicker correspondence, they stuck to the seller mentioned size. Although no other thorough description was referenced... referenced. I went in and closed my account, unfortunately, all that matters to them is the money they make off the transaction.
I purchased a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes the box look real but actual shoes more fake and smell fake Poshmark did nothing about it and seller had a chance to write me a dirty message! Will never shop or sell there again!
I purchased a sweater described as "Used, in good condition". But when I got it, it was missing the zipper. My return was denied. Their reasoning- "Item is as described". Reading all these reviews, it looks like this is happening to a lot of people. Poshmark is facilitating fraud. I plan to sue them and would encourage the rest of you to do the same. Most consumer protection statues cover attorney fees as well.
I purchased a men's sports jersey as a gift but we did not discover it was a woman's jersey until the recipient opened several weeks later. However, even though I notified Poshmark within minutes of discovering the problem, they denied all claims and stated the item was correct. So any deceit by the seller is acceptable by Poshmark, even it isn't obvious, unless you discover it immediately. Placing all of the responsibility on the buyer despite the clear mistake/fraud of the seller is the wrong way to do business.
A Gucci bag. They said there was minor wear and posted pics of what looked like a newish bag. The bag showed up ratty and smelly. Truly really bad. Put in for review and was denied. In fact, I wrote to the seller who laughed at me and said "good luck with that". I am fuming. I also took it to a luxury bag restorative expert and he told me it would cost 659 to make it usable. I actually have an app where I found emails for vp 's and have written to them.let's see what happens
My first time ordering from Poshmark. I purchased a pair of sneakers with Paypal. The sneakers were extremely narrow and too small for me. I contacted the seller regarding a refund. Seller advised unable to assist and directed me to reach out to customer support. I did just that. Several messages to customer support with NO reply. $70+ dollar purchase for nothing. I am still unaware of their actual return policy. I will never use Poshmark again. Buyer beware. My experience was awful.
Both times I have tried to buy something on Poshmark the money gets taken from my account and then the seller NEVER sends the item. Of course you do get your money back eventually... this is a great service if you want someone to take your money for over a week and nothing else because that's basically the only service they provide...
Mostly it is the customer service. You don't know until something goes wrong, the. You are out of luck. Ridiculous looping responses that say the same thing, unfair policies regarding returns, NO ONE TO TALK TO! They are sitting back laughing as they take in th the dough- what a racket. Dishonest thieves and liars.
I purchased a pair of shoes at my size. However, when I received them and tried them on, they were huge and I could not walk in them. It was the size I ordered, just did not fit as usual. I wanted to return them and Posh said this issue does not qualify? Wth. I have returned poor fitting items to amazon, zappos, etc. Now I am stuck with shoes I cannot wear. Will never use this company again.
Poshmark's return decisions are not buyer-friendly. I purchased a sweatshirt and received a T-shirt. My return request was denied, despite the fact that the item was not as described. I even sent them pictures showing that the material is not sweatshirt material. They seem to believe the buyer's "I didn't mean to deceive" statement over my photographs.
Policies like these leave buyers open to scammers and deceivers. Try Mercari — they're much better and many items have free shipping.
I ordered a pair of leggings from Poshmark -
I had multiple pairs of exact leggings from same maker. When the Poshmark leggings arrived they were at least 3 inches longer and much larger than any of my exact leggings. There was no company tag on waistband as all other leggings have. I contacted Poshmark customer service, sent pictures and they did not help me in any way. Obviously these leggings were fakes, documented with photos and Poshmark did ZERO to make this right.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
