I know there are a lot of negative reviews, but so far I only had good experience with the customer service and other seller/buyers.
I sell luxury bags on Poshmark sometimes. 20% fee is a bit high, but what I love is their authentication service, which can eliminate my worries about buyers claiming "item not authentic" or "item not as described."
I sent inquiries to their customer service through Facebook and they have always responded very quickly.
I guess the key is to use their Concierge service when selling high end items, and choose buyers if you can. Sometimes I did not accept offers even though they were high enough, due to the lack of reviews or because there was something shady about them. Like any other selling/buying platforms, discretion is needed, but so far Poshmark has provided the best experience compared to other services such as Mercari.
I placed two high-end, brand-new items for sale on Postmark. The process was quick and easy. However, I was inundated by texts from people looking at my items and following me. Don't these people have anything else to do? It was distracting and intrusive. I feel I should only get texts when people have questions or want to make an offer. I suggest that instead users receive a weekly EMAIL report with a list of likes/followers. After three months all I got were browsers, no sales. I closed my account and I took my things to a local consignment shop. They sold in a week.
Bought a sweatshirt, got an old lady sweater. Opened a claim. Seller called me a SCAMMER! Then she tried to swindle me by saying I could just keep the wrong item, that way I would not get my money back. Ugh... terrible sellers.
Sold a perfect condition running jacket with absolutely no flaws. Buyer then left me negative feedback saying I sold it to her with an undisclosed "broken zipper". I don't sell things in poor condition. I have 100% positive feedback going on 18 yrs on eBay so that should speak for itself. Poshmark seems to have sketchy buyers and leaves the seller with no recourse in this kind of situation. I'll never sell there again. Do yourself a favour folks. Stick to eBay where there's some seller protection too.
The people on this site are SO annoying. Bored housewives with cheap old clothes. They leave comments that they dream of buying my designer items. Who has time for this nonsense. It's only for super low end. I was able to sell some designer, but it was exhausting.
I've been shopping poshmark since they first opened and now they're too big for their britches they do not back up their loyal and great clients! I recently bought an item from a seller who indicated the item would fit a small or medium which I am. I then requested a return. After a week of waiting, they told me I should have asked for the measurements, lol! Then why indicating small or medium even matter then!?! I'm supposed to be blamed for the sellers misrepresentation? Well I will never buy anything from that crap site again! Oh btw that site has gone to crap anyways people love selling they're torn garbage there anyways
Ordered only once on this site which was one too many. Ordered a bracelet and after several weeks of not receiving merchandise I tried to call. Of course no number available. Only communication was through email. Was contacted by "Heather" who told me there was no record of my order despite the fact that they had deducted the money from my account. Long story short, Heather was no help so I turned matter over to my bank. Was reimbursed the full amount within the month. First impressions are lasting. Never again!
Absolutely the worst app to choose in terms of shopping or selling online. No support for sellers, Poshmark provides misleading & incorrect information. Shoppers consistently submit low ball offers & sellers are subjected to the highest fees to sell; more than double of the other apps. Don't waste your time or money on the garage they are trying to pass off as authentic. Poshmark should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat their sellers & how their Ambassadors gauge the customers with their fake knock offs. I would given a zero rating, However, this wasn't an option.
I have purchased many items from Poshmark. Generally, transactions go smoothly but there are exceptions and that is ALWAYS an issue because their customer service is non existent. You cannot call them, so back and forth on email is all you get. The main frustration is that the reps only use "canned" responses, so they don't address specific questions or concerns in an email and often the response is just nonsense in regard to the issue being raised. They emails will repeat the exact same canned response over and over. Totally useless. After paying for priority mail (standard for them) I should have received a package in a few days. After waiting weeks… and finally receiving purchase after a month (because I opened a case with the USPS, which they refused to do)…. They would not even refund my shipping costs. Now they don't even reply to emails. Avoid this company.
I sold an authentic pair of brand new LV sunglasses to a very eager buyer. Upon receiving them her whole tone changed. She's allegedly they are fakes and filed a complaint. If Poshmark took the time to go over the glasses and authenticate them, then it would be even more guaranteed that I sold a real pair. I also don't believe the buyer will return my pair of glasses, she will probably put a fake pair, how do I know what this person is doing? Poshmark should have way stricter rules for granting a return. I'm done with this site…
Sincerely,
Extremely dissatisfied
In spite of a no tolerance for price gouging Poshmark has many listings for a Lululemon everywhere bag anywhere from $75.00 to $160.00 that retails for $38.00 plus tax brand new. I personally own a few of these bags from the retailer Lululemon. I will never shop on Poshmark or recommend them. My two cents is use great care getting poshed seems to be the standard. Always do your homework first buying from this site. I also ordered a dress, never heard from the seller, yet they charged my credit card and I then had to wait 7 days to cancel order from a seller that never responded and now I have to wait 2 weeks for a refund.
PROS:
I've scored some unbelievable deals on legitimate designer items.
Easy site to search.
Bundling and making offers is easy
CONS:
Poshmark does allow the sale of fakes.
If a seller is a scammer, abandons their store/does not ship, there is no system to kick them off like ebay.
Their case review system is random at best. It sucks for buyers and sellers.
No communication other than a very slow email with corporate or cs specialist. No other way to communicate with sellers/buyers other than public posts.
Ordered a silver key chain listed as new with Tiffany pouch & box included. When this wait for delivery exceeded their limit, they contacted the seller. There was no response. Poshmark then contacted me and arranged a full refund. I was very pleased in my dealings with Poshmark and would not hesitate dealing with them again.
I just wish they don't charge 20% sales fee.
No return no exchange policy. People can report your list/post if they don't like and poshmark automatically delete the post without explanation why. Mercari is good, however I purchased a Chanel worth of $1,200 and turns out it was fake. And I reached out to them and no solutions in 2 days, the seller deleted her account I can't no longer find her. So i told them i will call my bank to get my money back. And they Blocked me. Poshmark, if you purchase one item that's worth $500 and up, they will Authenticate it for you. My best experience is Tradesy even tho the sales fee is also high but, good customer service.
Love Poshmark! Began selling a little over a month ago and have made a decent amount of money... much more than I would have made selling to Buffalo Exchange. They take a standard $2.95 on sales of less than $15 and then 20% on sales over $15- which kind of sucks but also is reasonable. You must be on your game, make sure to share your listings often and reduce prices if stuff isn't selling. I tried Depop and have had zero success. So far my favorite place to sell my lightly used/nice clothes. Just be prepared to price your stuff at a reasonable price, Poshmark buyers are real bargain hunters. I have found that shoes, high-end jeans, and vintage items sell the best.
I love to shop but I'll stick with e-bay over Poshmark any day! I had so Much bad luck with Poshmark That I closed the account and never plan to purchase from them again. First I received inauthentic facial products, Then sellers who failed to ship within a week, then received clothing not as described. Their set postage is around $7.99 even for very small items, bad! There are some excellent sellers on Poshmark but I ran into too many negligent ones. The one star is for those good sellers.
Here are 10 Reasons that you should consider before selling on Poshmark. 1) Scammers are allowed to use the Poshmark site. 2) I had an offer cancelled 4 times. 3) Buyers want designer goods for nothing. 4) Poshmark users send why too many messages and expect an immediate response 24 X 7.5) Authentic designer purses are suspected to be counterfeit. 5) The Poshmark app and site can be cumbersome to use for new sellers. 6) Poshmark may be good for buyers wanting deals, but not for sellers due to the 20% commission. 7) Orders must be shipped to a buyer within 2 days. 8) Poshmark recommends that sellers package items like a high-end boutique store. 9) Besides the 20% commission, Poshmark wants sellers to offer price reductions and bundles. 10) Customer service doesn't respond in a timely manner.
I posted my bag on Poshmark, a Louis Vuitton original which included serial number. Many others kindly shared it and four days later I cannot find my listing. Turns out they took it down and said it was counterfeit. I did sell it on EBay today so the bag is on it's way to EBay for verification. I offered Poshmark those results when it says it's 100% authentic. Not to mention their emails back are rude and unprofessional. They even closed my account without warning. How are you supposed to certify your bag with these companies? Don't waste your time with this site.
Purchased boots on 1/6/22. Seller shipped 1/10/22. USPS tracking stopped in 1-10/22. Never made it to my house. Neither Poshmark or the seller would do anything. I filed a claim with PayPal. They refunded the money.
Update my recent review - upped from 1 star to 3 stars with possibility to rise higher in future!
I wrote a scathing review calling their financial transaction process sketchy last week because one of my first purchases was flagged. They erroneously told me it was a credit flag and they wanted to verify my account and identity which made no sense given my choice to pay with Paypal. My item was cancelled. After I followed up with them several times to express my extreme irritation and unwillingness to give unnecessary personal or financial info, I received great follow up from them.
My purchase was flagged for a different reason - it is illegal to ship the animal skin item I ordered to CA but not other states. I didn't know that and their system does not yet tell you that's the reason. It's in everyone's best interest not to illegally ship items where larger fines can be imposed so, in a way, I'm glad something in their system flagged that.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
