Horrible company. Multiple tech issues over the years including response time so slow it can drive you INSANE. And, I just tried to order a book I made with my children in 2011, which a customer svce. Rep had walked me through saving on my hard drive, and they tell me they no longer support conversion of the 2011 version of the program so there is no way to ever print my photo books again! My books are GONE FOREVER. You've GOT to be kidding me! I hate this company. Stay far, far away!
First off, this site is extremely user-unfriendly. I teach online, so I am tech savvy, but the tutorials they have are only for photo books and not for other products. I have used Shutterfly, Costco, and Sam's Club card making services with no problems, but Picaboo is awful and you have to fight your way through it with no assistance. Secondly, I have a voucher that I purchased at a fund-raising raffle, which states on it that it can be used on cards. The site says it CANNOT be used on cards, so I called to inquire. The rep told me that it is a mistake when they were printed and they can't be used on cards. The company refuses to make good on their own mistake, which says a lot about their lack of integrity as a company. It seems other people have had the same issue with the poor customer service and the lack of integrity of this company. Give your business to a more reputable company where they will properly support their website and will own up to their own errors in good faith. SO SO DISAPPOINTING.
I bought 80 cards from this site in early October. They shorted me 20 envelopes. I tried to contacted them via their live chat during regular business hours when this was discovered, and they didn't respond. When I emailed them (they claim you'll get a response within 24-48 hours), I didn't get a response for 5 days & the response said they'd print more cards and mail them within 7 days when I told them in my email I planned on having the cards mailed out before they even responded. I then tried live chatting them again. They said printing new cards was the best answer & I'd get them in 7 days. I again asked that they overnight the envelopes to me or reimburse me for the cost of buying the envelopes. They didn't even respond to this, just sent me a transcript of the conversation. Is that how you deal with your mistakes? Ignoring them? I will NEVER work with this company again! I don't know how they can stay in business treating their customers that way!
I just received books that I ordered only a week ago and they are beautiful!
Just wanted everyone to know that though there are many complaints from
People out there... I had a great experience and can't wait to hand my books out to family and friends!

I have been using Picaboo for months and can only say great things about them. Customer service top notch! I had expired groupons and they still helped me out and extended them and even after the extended time was over they honored what they promised. The quality of the books are great. I have recommended them to all friends and family. Just a wonderful company with great customer service. They truly stand by their word and are very prompt at taking care of your needs. I would give them a 10 out of 5 if that that was an option. :)
I'm so unhappy with them! I ordered Christmas cards from them because I got a deal from Amazon. Such a mistake! I had such trouble placing the order. Then realized I needed to upgrade the shipping so I live chated with customer service. After waiting for sooooo long, I upgraded to overnight shipping, but she never put it in so now I'm not going to get my cards by Christmas. Since it was never put in the system, there's "nothing they can do." How can I send out Christmas cards after Christmas? Thanks for nothing Picaboo!
If you order any kind of print, be sure it's helping you to crop to the size you are ordering. I ordered a canvas print... it had me crop... and it had me crop to a different size. My print looked horrible, and I complained, and they told me I approved it (to a different size than what I ordered) and did not not qualify for their "satisfaction guarantee". They proceeded to offer a "deal" that would reprint my order for more than I originally paid. AVOID.
This company is a joke! For one, their website is slowest and most tedious of ALL photo sites. I had purchased an offer to make a photo book and actually just had to scrap the whole idea because it was going to take 4 hrs just to UPLOAD my pictures! I let it load for 2 hrs before I just said screw it. So i ended up just ordering some prints. They took 2 weeks to arrive and several were messed up. They had big pink blotches on my black and white pics! I wrote customer service and received a prompt reply that they would correct the issue. I informed them I needed the pictures sometime the following week. Well an entire week passed and I just now received a shipping confirmation (when I have been looking for them in the mail) and the tracking shows it will take an additional week to deliver! Are you kidding me! For 4 5x7 prints? They SUCK! And I will never use them again.
Found a good "deal" and spent hours creating a book on Picaboo's difficult website. ( I have made many books on another website.) When I received it, it had a rear blank page, but not a front one. It was very UNPROFESSIONAL looking. I called to ask about it, and the guy told me that's how they make them. I asked him why, and he said because it would cost money to add it. I asked how much, and he answered that he wasn't sure because that was another department. I asked to talk to that department and he said they didn't receive calls. Save your time and money and create your books elsewhere.
I ordered holiday cards from this company for Thursday delivery. I talked to someone on Thursday and they stated Friday. I talked to someone on Friday and they said Saturday. They arrived late in the day on Monday. They state quick production times to get your business knowing they can not meet those time frames and then lie to you about it.
Don't take my word for it. Check the Better Business Bureau. The BBB gives Picaboo an F!
This website is impossible to navigate to just order simple prints from your phone. It directs you to their app to upload pictures, and then you can't upload pictures without starting a project on the website. It's the most useless website and I'm annoyed for purchasing a voucher at a fundraiser and not being able to utilize it to order prints. You cannot upload pictures from your phone, you need a computer to do so (per the customer service rep), and all of my pictures, and probably everyone else on this planet, are on my phone not on my computer. This website is awful and I wasted money purchasing a voucher that I'll never use. I'll stick to snapfish and any other app that actually allows you to upload pics from your phone.
Customer service IS horrible. I had a hard time ordering a book and they never assisted me over the telephone. I called twice and both times they kept telling me that the websites were picky, sometimes they would let you order and sometimes they did not. Finally the site told me that the book I was trying to order was no longer available and deleted HOURS & HOURS of work. I will never use them again!

I have ordered 12 photo books from picaboo after my daughter's wedding. I customized the books on the cover and the actual photos depending on the recipient. 2 of the books were switched (inside of one book with the cover of another, and one book had a photo that only downloaded 1/3 of the photo). I have spent probably 6-8 hours on the phone and "live chat" with them trying to remedy their mistake... obviously it has been difficult. I offered to return the books, and they said it would take 6 weeks for them to even review/decide! If the books are done correctly, the cover and quality are nice... I just wouldn't take the chance again, and will probably have to "eat" the cost of these and make them with another company.
I bought a coupon from houstonlocal, and like many others their website doesn't work. It took me over 2 hours to make the book, as compared to Shutterfly, it usually only takes 30-45 minutes. I tried to upload my book to order it and after 2 days of trying and remaking my book twice I just gave up! So they scammed me out of $10 because you can't get "something for nearly nothing". Just use Shutterfly when they have a discount offer. Their books are excellent quality and their website is user friendly.
I am not tech savvy, but I love creating calendars and books from my digital photographs. Picaboo, although expensive, allowed me SO MUCH flexibility in my calendar creation AND I could actually follow the prompts. When I received my calendar the spiral binding was damaged. I called and a very nice woman answered. I received another copy of the calendar within the week. I LOVE PICABOO! Also, this is the first time I have ever submitted a review anywhere.
I tried to change the shipping address (because the book I had just ordered took 10 days to arrive) and they would NOT change the shipping address even though the book was in production and hadn't shipped yet! Will NOT order from them again! I can understand if it was changing anything about the printing of the book, but the shipping address! Very poor customer service!
Be aware that there cropping lines are not perfectly accurate. They could crop a little more (especially on the cover). I will try another company next time. Compaints are not handled very fast either. So allow youself plenty of time for the project, and the possability that it will have to be redone.
This review is not based on the quality of books because I may never get them. I live in a city building with no doorman so I need to have all large packages delivered with FedEx or UPS because the drivers know to deliver in the evening. I emailed Picaboo and they said they ship FedEx. This is NOT true. They ship FedEx Smart Post which means they hand off your package to USPS. This adds 5-7 days to your delivery time and in my case does not work. Unless I take off of work I may never get my albums which were holiday gifts. I wish they were very clear that they do not really ship FedEx.
After 2 weeks of diligent work on a 28 page album, ordered it after multiple previews to ensure correctness. Within 24 hours of order, showed niece book online and to my astonishment, found 1 page with multiple pastes of a ribbon that had not been visible when editing book. Called Picaboo within 36 hours of order & prior to production. Was told that Safari browser often had issues and that I would have to order again, with a 60% discount. Funny how they don't feel the need to state this on their website. With the ribbons obliterating 1/2 page, it is clear that a customer would never order this. They maintained it was a customer error and would do nothing beside give me the 'privilege' to spend more to get it right by ordering a 22nd book. Their 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee is bogus as they had the option to give me 'Picabucks' to re-order as they already had my money & were notified prior to production so the 1st book did not need to get printed. They simply do not honour their own policy and care little about the customer as soon as they have their money. Stay tuned as I will update with a photo of the product glitch once the book is received. So disappointed. Don't use this company as hours of work can be destroyed by an issue with their program and they couldn't care less.
I placed my order on December 1st. I ordered 5-7 days shipping. It is now December 16th and I still haven't received anything in the mail. To make matters worse I have sent 2 separate emails with my concerns to their customer service department and have never heard back. Also, when I received my shipping confirmation I was supposed to be able to "Track" my order under my order details for my account, I tried many times and have NEVER been able to view the tracking of my package! This site is completely unreliable! I thought since I was ordering so early I would have plenty of time to mail out my Christmas cards before Christmas but at this rate I might just have to call my bank and dispute the charges because it sure doesn't seem like I'll be receiving any order. STAY AWAY! I've had WAY better experiences with shutterfly, tiny prints, and cardstock. Try one of those instead!
Answer: I have found their software has trouble with big batches. Try uploading a fewer at a time.
Answer: I bought the same Groupon and paid $7.43 for shipping
Answer: I have used their vouchers with no problem IF I use them for the product that was specified... Also, they will not allow you to combine the voucher with a 'coupon', so the voucher is applied to their full-priced product. You have to do the math before purchase as the vouchers are not always the good deal they appear to be. Now that I've learned this the hard way, I usually have a photobook ready to go before buying any of their vouchers. Though given the chronic quality issues I have had with them, once I finish using my vouchers, I will use a different vendor.
Answer: The pictures you upload should appear at the bottom of the window. If you are not seeing that then perhaps you did not actually upload the pictures. If you are certain you did, then I would suggest calling Picaboo or using their chat help line. It has worked for me.
Answer: If you're done editing and ready to buy, go back to the home screen-->My Projects and add it to the cart from there
Answer: Read the fine print. Also, the lay-flat book is limited to 99 pages
Answer: As the previous answer indicates, you can make the image POP by using the multiple, easy to use editing tools. Also, be sure to PREVIEW before ordering. The preview gives you an exact likeness of what you will receive.
