I started using Petfinder to find a rescue dog. Everyone that I inquired about I had to fill out applications. It was a waste of time because I never heard back from most of these places and the others had already been adopted out.
I contacted Petfinder to meet a dog that was listed. I never got a reply, but the dog's profile was deleted the next day. A little while later we adopted a puppy from a local rescue. That was 2 months ago and our puppy is still listed on petfinder. Looking at old information is not helpful.
No matter the breed, sex or age - this site seems to have them all! I have decided rather than purchase my next dog from a breeder, I will check out available animals on this site. You can search by age, sex, breed, species and location. This is a VERY well designed site. Sometimes it's a little heartbreaking to read the stories of the little critters looking for homes. Before you buy from a breeder, consider adopting from here!
I suspect that PetFinder is a portal scam for collection of personal data and then 'selling' this information to marketeers and then the follow-up is dubious - I mean questions that had no relevance to adopting a pet except to take photos of my home... definitely a suspect outfit. I would suggest stay away from this organization it is questionable the personal data that 'they' are collecting.
Petfinder connected me to a lot of people who were exploiting the site to find out information about me and where i lived. It was really awful. Please don't use it as this site is not unsafe by itself but it is full of unsafe people.
After filling out a ridiculous absurd application….Nobody gets back to you, about anything. Complete waste of time.
You have one job…. Connect people to animals that need a home. Make it simple to save animals lives. You have failed.
Attempting to get a pet on this site or any other by email is just a waste of time and emotion! Tryed to find a cat or 2 and nothing would ever "pan-out". By the time someone actually contacts you back by email Only, they claim that pets already been adopted. No personal one on one here... like I was trying to adopt a human infant and that's probably easier. NO to this site or any similar like Adopt A Pet
''About two weeks ago I adopted a purebred Yorkshire terrier from ''Purebred rescue of FL through petfinder.com. I drove to Brooksville FL from Little rock, Arkansas to pick the dog up from their rescue. The staff is fantastic, they treat their clients with nothing but kindness. It is hard to find a legitimate rescue group these days so I am grateful I found them. My only complaint toward the rescue is their high fee's.
Two weeks ago I seen a Huskie her name is or was or Abra? I have written several times trying to seek more information. No one cares or gives a dam. I have never ever seen such an organization such as PetFinder. I will write a review every day so others will not be screwed around like a few Others besides myself,,
I've been filling out applications for months but nothing. We've got a great situation, fenced1/3rd acre, an 8 pound playmate, we are long time dog owners and big hearts awaiting another little boy to share our life with. The only response we've ever gotten is that because of high volume of applications they will eventually get back to us. Never have. I give up.
I adopted a 5 year old, 12lb. $#*!zu, named Leo from Petfinder/Wagging Tails animal rescue, for $600. The adoption process felt like I was adopting a child. Not only did I have to fill out forms online, but I also had to let them see what my house looked like while I was talking to them on the phone. I picked up Leo from the foster parent, who had me sign some additional forms. Leo was cute, followed me everywhere, he's definitely a lap dog. No one told me he bites, nor was it in his profile. He nipped my daughter, growled at my husband and the final straw was he bit my daughter, all of this happened in a week. I returned Leo and lost $600. No refund at all. There's a reason why you aren't able to leave a review on Petfinder.com and it's because they are a rip off. By the way…I saw Leo on Petfinder 2 weeks later for $700. Don't waste your money or time on Petfinder.com.
They lure kind-hearted pet lovers into a net of disappointment and taking their money. I believe, based on my experience, that most of the pets they advertise are either non-existant or have already been adoped. Just recently I immediately applied to adopt a dog advertised and received a response telling me he was nearly through the adoption and was not available. Why did they promote this dog. Are they stupid? Callous scam artists? I believe both. Don't be fooled and disappointed. Unsubscribe from their emails and block contact as I have. Shame on you Jared Saul and Betsy Banks Saul
About 6 months ago I signed up with this worthless group. All the dogs and cats over the years have all been rescues. I lived in Tacoma for 50 years and all of them came from the Tacoma human society and Puyallup animal rescue never a problem. Now back to this outfit. Your prices are horrible you must be making all kinds of money. Trying to get you guys to respond to the emails I sent you about different pets you NEVER RESPONDED. Now after months you start sending me more emails what the hell? You guys are going in the spam folder. And by the way I did find another rescue she's a sweety gets along with my 2 rescue cats and 2 other rescue dogs. If I EVER am looking again it won't be with you. Thanks for nothing and I hope your rescues make it out of your hands SAFETY.
Bunch of Charlatans I'm surprised they didn't want to know my inside leg measurement. Their forms is ridiculous, ": what do you think your pet needs most, reading glasses and a good light?" no replies I'm conv inced they have an age cut off. The are no use. Don't waste your time They don't reply, do they want to have the animals adopted or not They need to be audit\ed by animal services and then closed down

We waited a long to time to get another dog. When we were ready we decided on a rescue. I understand that the website is only a vehicle for 'rescues' to share information about available pets. We had applied for multiple dogs, spent tons of time applying, rarely ever heard back from some of the sites. Some of the 'rescue sites' had terrible reviews too. Made for a lot of hoop jumping, hopes up only to be let down, poor communication. Has to be a better way to give a pet a home!
I put application in to meet a dog. Response from petfinder. Called your vet and you have not purcshed heart worm since. 2017. Yes that is true my dog was eaderly and passed away beginning of 2018. Plus I purchase a lot on line. Petfinder only looking to judge! Never once talked to me visited me. Let me visit the dog. POOR! POOR! Process! Will never use them again. It is about the animal the best place for the animal. NO Way they can accomplish that with emails only! Bad experience! Feel sorry for the animals they are placing in such a poor process!
No one responds to enquiries or applications. If you
Are legitimaty trying to place pets ASAP then why the delay
In response? My son, who has aspergers, doesn't
Understand why no one will respond. He now thinks
That this is all a sham. Pretty savvy on his part because I too
Believe that this whole site is nothing but a sham.
I went into petfinder so excited to have the opportunity to adopt a pet soon as I've been considering for a few years and now finally the time. Im in search of a small buddy dog for my condo. All I've been met with is disappointment and no response and invasive applications with more no response. It's a weird world on all ends as I keep hearing the statistics on continued euthanizations of animals yet they make it so very difficult for good people to take in a rescue. While petfinder is simply a database, it represents these shelters and is filled with outdated pets that have been adopted ages ago. After this emotional rollercoaster (I'm only two months in and know others have been trying much longer) I'm convinced my only true shot at being a dog mom is to get on a breeder list or go to a pet store.
I had called wanting to get more information on a horse located in Arizona named paloosa. I grew up with horses so I have experience, and the fact that I'm willing to drive 10 hours just to visit the horse should show that I'm more than willing to do everything I can to provide this horse with a loving home. The lady that had answered my call was demeaning, hostile, and unprofessional! Y'all really want to find homes for these animals? Cause the problem is the ones fostering them. She didn't even get to know me or my background. I feel sooo bad for these animals on this site, only want a loving home but can't because stuck up ignorant people don't let it happen!
We had to put our dog to sleep in February and because we r older we wanted to get a rescue dog who was older. We love dogs and have had 5 terrier type dogs. Someone is always home and we have a fenced in yard. We gave the vet as a reference which would show that we took great care of our dogs. We submitted an application with the 5 dollar fee for one of the dogs on Petfinder. We never heard a word from them one way or another as to whether we could adopt the dog. It was a complete waste of time and I would never bother dealing with these people
Answer: Not sure if Petfinders does this but AdoptaPet.com does.
Answer: Tried their services and only got requests to "sponsor" or donate for pets that may have been no-existent but no contact to actually adopt a pet
Answer: The only answer you will ever get is "contact the place/person you got the animal from or who has the animal". NOTHING ELSE.
