DoNOT USE OVERSTOCK WORSE SERVICE AND OVERSTOCK IS OVER PRICE. OVER STOCK charged me $89 dollars for a comforter and I saw the same comforter for $49.00. Just dropped it near the door.
I purchased a $4000. 00 entertainment from Overstock.com that does not offer any sort of service, for a price, to assemble the products they sell. Therefore, you must hire a service on your own. The order consisting of 5 large cartons weighing 800# was delivered on March 11 and I made arrangements for a service to come on March 14 to assemble the entertainment center. After moving around the items in my house to make room for the entertainment center, they went into the garage and proceeded to open the cartons and after opening 3 cartons, they found 2 pieces to be damaged and were unable to continue the job. At that point I had them leave and had to pay them for their travel and time spent on the job which was $318.00 which I have an invoice for and a charge on my credit card. I called Overstock and they said they would make arrangements to pick up the damaged product but customer service would not reimburse me for what I had to pay for the assembly service that could not be completed due to the damage quoting they DO NOT PAY FOR ASSEMBLY OF PRODUCTS. I understand this but in this instance they could not complete the job because of extensive damage and were entitled to be paid for their time and service performed. I pointed this out to the customer service agent, Tyler H, and he tells me I should have inspected the product before hiring the assemblers. There were 5 large cartons weighing 800# and I am an 85 year old woman who uses a walker and could not have inspected those cartons. A 6 ft. Man could not have done so and further more those truckers were not going to hang around for anyone to TRY AND INSPECT THOSE CARTONS as they had more deliveries to make. I spoke to this Tyler on at least 10 occasions as well as there were many e-mails and in no way was he going to give any sort of reimbursement for what I had to pay because they sent me damaged merchandise. Had the merchandise not been damaged I would not be seeking any type of reimbursement. As I said I am an 85 year old woman. I recently lost my retired military husband of 63 years and in my 85 years have never experienced such deplorable customer service.
DO NOT buy anything from Overstock. They try to nickel and dime you, horrible customer service, and their products are junk.
First of all, their prices are jacked up. I found the same coffee table I purchased on their site for about $50 cheaper and they don't price match.
They also sell damaged subpar good. I purchased a coffee table and the legs didn't screw in. When Hayneedle sent me crappy merchandise, they offered me a discount or to allow me to return it. Overstock reached out to the company who sold the item to get me some new parts then suggested I reach out to them myself. They told me that if I wanted to return it, I also had to contact the company that sold it. Overstock sold it to me so why I have to deal with a second company. Still haven't gotten an answer from the company over a week later.
I also purchased pillows which were a different color and completely different texture than shown in the phone on the website. After asking to speak to a manager, the manager agreed that the color was different and the texture was different. He then refused to give me a free return shipping label sighting that it was still the same item I purchased even though he agreed it was a different color and texture. He said, "It's still in the white family." Anyone who knows home decor knows that Ivory and white are two different colors. These people sent me an item wasn't what the picture looked like and proceeded to try and nickel and dime me for shipping costs.
UNREAL! Buy Amazon and save yourself the hassle. Their staff is rude and incompetent and does nothing to rectify the inconvenience and time they cost you.
OvERSTOCK.COM SOLD ME A COUNTERFEIT WATCH
I purchased a Tag Heuer watch from Overstock.com in June of 2020 with a 2 year warranty. The watch needed a repair in Oct of 2021. I was instructed to send the watch directly to Tag Heuer for service. I overnighted the watch and 3 days later I received an email from Tag Heuer informing me that the watch was COUNTERFEIT and they would not provide any repairs. I contacted Overstock to discuss getting an AUTHENTIC Tag Heuer replacement watch. It was truly the worst service I have ever encountered. They jerked me around with unhelpful emails, delays and passed the buck for months offering me nothing at all to correct the situation or compensate me for this horrible experience. I got nothing but lip service from start to finish. I was told that they would provide a credit for the original purchase price and NO credit for the 1 1/2 years of interest I had paid on a COUNTERFEIT watch. They gave me absolutely nothing. I had to buy another watch in a style I didn't want and had to beg for a measly discount. I ordered the new watch on March 7th, 2022. After waiting over 3 weeks for the new watch, Low and behold, the watch I had selected was mysteriously going to take 16 weeks to get. This situation was never escalated to anyone with authority to make it right. I made a terrible decision buying from Overstock and will never use them again. Horrible Experience...
In May 2019, I ordered over $3,000 worth of home furnishings. Some arrived as promised. A set of nesting tables was damaged, which they replaced. The trouble was with a decorative table that did not arrive on the day they promised (in confirmation email). That same day, I received a call from what I learned was a scammer using a FEDEX number (appeared on my phone a FEDEX) confirming "lack of delivery" and asking me to call FEDEX to file an insurance claim. When I called the real FEDEX (using number on website, because the original caller did not provide any info) the FEDEX employee said that the number I gave them from my caller ID (which said FEDEX) was not affiliated and was a scam. They began fraud procedures on their end and asked that I contact Overstock.
I immediately called Overstock to alert them to the scam delivery company - their records indicated that it had indeed been delivered to my residence. After a lengthy conversation, they said they would file a fraud claim and resend the piece of furniture. No email was sent to confirm this call transaction.
Randomly, an email was sent a week later cancelling my order and it indicated that I would receive a refund. 12 Days after this email, I never received a refund (nor was the table delivered).
On Day 13 after the cancellation email (and 1 MONTH after the order was placed), I called Overstock Customer Service. They seemed deeply confused by the problem and lack of shipping confirmation. I was on hold while the unhelpful lady tried to figure out what to do (which she explained to me in a way which suggests it was too complicated for her to fully grasp). At this point, I articulated that the only solution was a refund, which she claimed will take about 3 - 5 business days. I have no confidence that the woman on the phone will be able to handle the refund and will probably have to resolve the situation by filing a dispute with my credit card for that portion of the charge.
I'm left with the distinct impression that they use disreputable shipping "partners" in the U.S. instead of the more expensive FEDEX/UPS.
I will NEVER use Overstock again because of their terrible practices and lack of skill and accountability of those employees in customer service.
They have lots of inventory, but I always check other online retailers. They aren't always the cheapest
The site is great... easy to maneuver through and great options. Customer service is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Items i got were preety much what i expected great customer service some items not a great value moe expensive on some items than other sites
Not what they advertise. They never have what they claim. Plus the prices aren't that good. I was not happy and their site was a waste of time
Since I did eventually get this order, I would like to add an update with the rest of the story:
A few days after leaving the first review, I received a call and subsequent email from Overstock Representative Mary M (Escalations Specialist). She was very polite and explained that I shouldn't have received the email about paying for the return. She had already sent the delivery person an email to request status, and would call them if they didn't respond in 1 day. She did call them, and the next day, I was issued a delivery date.
A couple days later, the delivery arrived. I went out to meet the driver, but when the truck was opened, the package was extremely damaged, and through a gap in the packaging, I could see large cracks in the table inside. The driver also noticed this, and recommended that I reject the item, send it back, and get a refund. From his lack of surprise, I assume he knew it was damaged, but needed my personal rejection signature for some company policy reason.
I contacted Mary about this the same day, and she said that they would normally be able to refund or replace, but since that was the last item in stock, they could only refund. When I agreed to the refund, it was done very quickly. However, when she called the next day to tell me the refund had been completed, she mentioned a new shipment had come in, and I could choose to order the item again, if I wanted. She would give me a 15% off certificate for this order. I agreed to this.
A month later, a few days after the initial delivery estimate, I did receive my order successfully, and in good conditrion. I am very happy with it.
Summary:
- I'm increasing from 1 to 2 stars due to Mary's stellar customer service and resolution.
- Even though the customer service reps say they "escalate" your claim, it's very difficult to actually speak to the people they're supposedly "escalating" your claim to
- Overstock does a very bad job communicating with their delivery service
- The delivery service has an awful "auto-call" delivery scheduling system, which caused me to miss at least two delivery attempts
Order never arrived. Over the course of a month and a half, I periodically contacted customer support who would tell me that someone would contact me in the next 24 to 48 hours. Nobody ever contacted by phone or email. At least, they never left a message.
As it was an oversized item, they said they were unable to get the tracking information, as that is done by an external company. This is ridiculous. They should be able to get the tracking information from a company partnering with them.
I mentioned to one representative that if I didn't hear back soon, I would like to return the item. A couple days later, I received an email stating that my order was being returned and since it was an oversized item, I was responsible for the shipping costs.
Just tonight I talked to another representative who again informed me that I would be contacted in 24 to 48 hours.
Overstock.com. DON'T SHOP AT OVERSTOCK DOT COM! They scammed me!
I ordered a queen bed and within less than an hour, I requested an online cancellation ( which was available at the time). One second after I click cancel order, they changed the status of the order to Processing. I contacted customer service support and explained the issue, they said that they couldn't cancelled it because the order was already on the processing status (warehouse).
It didn't make sense that you can not cancel an order within less than an hour for an overstock website error. The reason for cancellation was that the photo of the item didn't represent it correctly and Items were not correctly described online. I noticed this, after I read the reviews from the customers that bought previously the item.
I keep contacting them for cancellation, they really have very poor customer service support. After more than 15 calls, one of the representatives at overstock told me that even that the Items weren't shipped and won't be shipped until later time the reason they couldn't cancel is that the seller partner do not accept cancellations at anytime. Even when the cancellation of the item is a result of an Overstock.com error in the item description.
This is clear that they are trying to defraud people.
I ordered the cancellation within a reasonable timeframe (less than an hour after the order was put in place), in order to prevent shipment. They told me that I need to receive the item and later try to return it, which will result in excessive shipping charges into my credit card.
Bottom line, overstock.com are scammers! Trying to defraud clients with tricks. Go away from their website. I love to buy online, but never never will buy from overstock.com.
I ordered a couch that cost close to $2000. I received no notice of shipping and just found a couch in my driveway one day. The couch was completly covered in packaging so obviously I could not see the couch. I had 3 people come to my house to drag this heavy couch inside and move my old couch out only to find when I opened it that it was not the couch I ordered. I contacted OverStock and they gave me the run around for days. I finally spoke with someone that asked me to send them a picture of the couch and the packing tag which I did. The couch I received was not the same style or color that I ordered. For 2 more weeks I received more run around and then was told that in 4-6 weeks they would pick up the wrong couch and "Possibly" deliver the couch I ordered. I have requested a refund and will NEVER shop with OverStock EVER AGAIN! They behaved as if I was lying or just didn't want the couch I ordered. I have been forced to just cover this worng couch with blankets and wait for them to pick it up. HORRIBLE COMPANY DO NOT BUY FROM OVERSTOCK!
So nice supplies for house are all in one shop. The quality seems to be vey good and it cannot but make me happy with my purchases here.
Overstock advertises the Kazak Rugs as original, handmade, wool. They are machined made! Beware! It is a scam.
Bought a recliner last year and it was delivered all the way to my door free. Love it-hate shipping!
We ordered these Gaspar Cigar Leather recliners in black. When they arrived, the chairs looked good and are comfortable. We placed them in a room that doesn't see a lot of use. We'd used the recliners maybe less than a dozen times over a 3 month period? We noticed that one of them was making a binding noise when reclining and it had a lean to the footrest. I reached out to Overstock, and they sent me over to Guardsman (We purchased the 5yr extended warranty) We filled the claim form per Guardsman request and sent it in. (regardless of if you fill the claim out online or hardcopy, you still need to mail it in). Long story short, Guardsman declined the warranty because the date I put on the form when I first noticed it to when Guardsman received the claim was past their 7day window. It was 13 days. Needless to say, after several phone calls and emails between Guardsman, Overstock & the Manufacture not one of them wants to stand by the product and repair it, replace it or even offer a credit? If you're looking for furniture this would be the last place I would look. We were skeptical at first purchasing furniture online from anyone, but after reading reviews of Overstocks and their return policy as well as purchased the 5yr extended warranty we thought this might work? As I was polite & patient with Overstock & Guardsman to try and have this resolved to no avail as they don't seem interested in standing behind their products. However, I will say everyone I spoke to at Overstock was polite and seemed genuine in resolving the issue, not so much for Guardsman everyone I spoke to there were short and dis-ingenuine. After going through this process and realizing how polished and knowing how to use calming words shows definite training. I'm assuming this is a majority of their calls they're dealing with? As you can imagine if you read this, we'll be closing our account and no longer purchase anything from Overstock.com, Wayfair or any of the other online business as Overstock has confirmed our hesitations from buying something like furniture online.
It is a huge selection of bags and purses, I sat there for two days trying to find exactly what I wanted to buy, it was a tough choice but I made it.
I bought a 10k white gold diamond ring, very disapointment ring is like i'm wearing a wire in my finger.
Purchased several wedding rings to discuss with my fiancee... with the understanding that I would pay for the return of the ones we didn't want to keep... they arrived in ONE shipment... a small and VERY light quilted envelope (small).
We were stunned at how poor the quality was for ALL the rings and how NONE of them even resembled the pictures on their sight.
We immediately initiated the return policy via their "RETURN" drop-down... welll IMAGINE our shock when NOT ONLY was their an outrageous feel (almost $10) for each ring to be returned but we had to return them SEPARATELY and incur even HIGHER costs.
We contacted O/S via their "chat" lline and a very accomodating rep. Told us she would send us ONE label free of charge to return the rings together. It arrived via e-mail and we shipped all the rings back as ONE package.
Well imagine our shock AGAIN when the next week we received SEVERAL e-mails in which we were CHARGED for the of EACH SEPARATE ring even though we were told there would be no charge and we had returned them as ONE package.
After ANOTHER frustrating experience via their "chat" line we were told that because we decided not to keep the rings we HAD to pay for their return DESPITE the fact that I had an e-mail from them that said we would NOT be charged.
I will NEVER buy anything from them again... this was absolutely disgraceful and their holier than thou attituded was the LAST straw.
Save your money and go on EBay...
I placed an order on March 23rd and did not see any movement even after 2 weeks resulting in me contacting them via chat. I just wanted to know where my package was however they told me that someone will reach back out within 48 hours and asked if I would like a refund multiple times. I specifically informed them that I look forward to someone contacting me and I just need to know the status of my package. I didn't hear back and after 2 more chats that was not helpful, I gave their customer service a call the next day. They soon informed me that the 7 tables that I ordered was out of stock. Isn't it ironic? I was in disbelief that nobody thought to contact me or update the status. I eventually tell them to refund me and for someone to please call me. I end up having to research for 7 different tables that I was able to find on Wayfair, which was a relief.
Disappointingly, nobody calls me even after 2 days from Overstock as promised - so I check the order status and the order says that it got SHIPPED. I THOUGHT IT WAS OUT OF STOCK?!
I call their customer service line and they reassured me that they can re-route the package back to them as I do not have room to keep their tables. I asked them if I can get back to them after speaking with Wayfair. They said that was perfectly fine and rest be assured. I contact Wayfair and they've already speedily shipped my tables so I have to stick with Wayfair. I contact Overstock back via chat and they just keep telling me that they cannot re-route it back to themselves! I just give up and decide to call the next day. Once I got a hold of someone, they assured me that the tables have been re-routed back to them. I thought this was over as you probably thought so too. But then my contractor calls me and tells me that the tables have been DELIVERED. Seriously $#*! them. I need to open this restaurant by next week and this is what I have to deal with. I called them today and they are not helpful at all, they said rest assured our supervisor will call you by end of day. I'm sitting here 4:43pm PST and god damn I am not rest assured. A big middle finger to Overstock. DONT EVER BUY FROM THEM. EVER. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Answer: Hey, I would be very careful. I have transacted with Overstock three times and I don't believe there is as much security in terms of guarantee as with Amazon. And, if you buy items fulfilled by Amazon (meaning the product ships from Amazon's warehouse) you are even more guaranteed. For example, I bought some dinner napkins from an Amazon seller, fulfilled by Amazon. They were not what they were supposed to be and Amazon issued me a credit immediately and scheduled UPS to pick up my item to return. I'm very confident that with Amazon you will get quality service and if the product is not as described or substandard you will be in better hands especially with Amazon fulfilled items. Overstock is just not up to par and I wouldn't purchase something like a medicated cream from Overstock until they get it together.
Answer: I used a credit card on Overstock when purchasing my bed. It was years ago, I still sleep on it. I had no problems using my credit card on Overstock
Answer: They send it back to Overstock, call or Email them for a refund
