Furniture arrived damaged; 3 replacement attempts - damaged. Initially I thought that it was damaged in transit by FedEx. But after receiving 4 damaged items in a row ( one initial order and 3 replacement attempts), I believe that what overstock.com has in stock is already damaged. They clearly do not inspect before shipping. Packaging is also inadequate. After 3 damaged items, spoke with customer service supervisor and requested item to be inspected before shipping and requested better packaging. Was told that overstock inspects all items before shipping ( lies – all items including last arrived in boxes sealed initially by manufacturer). Was also told that additional packaging will be added; another lie – it was not added. Value your time – stay away from overstock.
Ordered a bluetooth speaker because the audio jack on my laptop is broken, and I cannot hear the speakers when I watch TV shows on it. 9 days after I ordered it, I find out that, although a shipping label had been created, there was no indication that the item had ever been shipped. Customer service says I should hear something about the status of my order in 1-2 business days. Then, if I don't hear anything, or the news is not good, they will resend it by expedited shipping, which is 2-4 days, on top of 2-4 days for the order to be processed in-house. If I had ordered from Amazon, the item would have been here several days ago. The price was really not that great. This is both my first and last order from Overstock.com
I ordered an oversized item which they explained to me would take up to three weeks to deliver. I then received a tracking number. The tracking number shows that it was delivered to a third company 12 miles from my house. Three weeks later it is still sitting 12 miles away because the newest company has missed two delivery dates, lied about computer problems, put it on the wrong truck and cost me HOURS on the phone and missed work waiting for it to arrive... Terrible delivery practices. Latest delivery date is now a week away, AGAIN... TERRIBLE.
I ordered a desk from their eBay listings, the desk in the Description pictured a cherry desk, but the auction was for a white desk. I immediately requested to cancel the order 2 minutes later. Overstock emailed me that the order had already been processed and could not be cancelled. Very bad customer service, evidently they don't like to have repeat customers!
Placed an order on Nov 19,2017 and on Nov 29, still no tracking available, so contacted customer service & I was told that 2 days later I will have tracking information or if not tracked then a new order will be sent out. Well, 2 days later and another chat to customer service I was told the same thing again except it would be by end of day would receive e-mail with information or resend with tracking number. Ok now over one week of attempting to locate my order and still not heard anything from overstock or where my order has been sent. Will not deal with this company again.
The website is well done, and the customer service is almost amazing. With a few minor errors here and there, they have been absolutely wonderful. Great place to shop, easy to return, and good prices.
My wife tried to make a purchased about 4 weeks prior to Xmas, they told her the item was in stock and charged her card. Two days before xmas, they sent and email that basically said "oops, we were wrong, not in stock. Here's a 5.00 credit for the inconvenience.
Not a happy wife...
I am located in Switzerland and ordered 4 canopy beds for my house in Thailand. Such nice beds with boxspring mattress and foundation are not available in Asia. Because of my concern about the high value and shipping, I contacted the international support. The kind lady on the phone explained all steps of the order and shipment procedure, and finally I placed an online order and paid with PayPal. I could track the inside USA collection and the shipment process with FedEx. After some days, the 400 kilogram delivery was in Bangkok at the customs. Here started a nightmare of import procedure, but with the assistance of FedEx, everything was solved and we received the beds in perfect packing and condition. Thanks to the good instruction manuals, assembly was easy went smooth. I thank Overstock and FedEx for the excellent service and always helpful support. Whenever we need special furniture, we will look at Overstock first and order from them.
Quite possibly the WORST customer service on planet Earth. Too bad because they do have some good prices from time to time. But even if their merchandise was FREE it's still not worth putting up with such rude and incompetent customer service. I quit shopping with Overstock a while back and I have still been able to find all my shopping needs at other sites, and usually for the same price or better.
Was not expecting a $103 return fee on a $500 table, but here we are. I accidentally ordered the oval version instead of the round. This company is not upright and honest and the customer service team will give you the run around even giving me a customer service email knowing that it is completely unmonitored. I do not recommend anyone shop here and I would strongly advise against it.
Granted, I haven't had to return any items so far, so I don't know how they are with returns etc., but I'm satisfied with my experience with them so far.
The furniture I ordered arrived relatively fast (shipping was just $1) and it was the best packed box I've gotten so far. The item quality was great too.
I've since talked to their customer service to ask questions about other items and they were very helpful and informative. I was actually surprised to see so many bad reviews here, so I'm wondering if maybe the customer service at overstock was less good before and I just lucked out by starting to use them after it improved?
In any case, I'm happy with them and had only good experiences so far.
I like this site if I'm looking for something in particular and can't find it elsewhere. It has a great variety. However, if you're a bargain shopper, check elsewhere first. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience.
After placing a $2500 order with Overstock, I immediately (within an hour) requested a cancellation of one small portion of the order ($67). I actually received an email with the cancellation request confirmation BEFORE I received a confirmation email of the order itself. That is how quickly the cancellation request was made. And while the items were not shipped for two days, the items were shipped anyway. Meanwhile, I ordered a replacement item. When I contacted customer service about returning that small portion of the order, they would only return it for a fee and only for store credit. They would not allow a return with a refund. After speaking with three different agents I requested to speak with a manager. They would not connect me to a manager, and instead promised that one would call back. No call back.
Broken pieces in our order, wood broken off and cracked on a patio table and 6 chairs. 5 pieces damaged. Spent over 500 dollars
Customer service Unable to accommodate a solution. Now we are stuck with a broken patio set, knowing our children can get stuck and splintered whenever.
I ordered an area rug from Overstock and the product was in stock according to their website. They issued an order number, charged my credit card and gave me a delivery date. On the day the rug was to be delivered I got a notification saying that there was a problem, they really didn't have the rug and so after a week of waiting I wouldn't be getting my order. We'll see how long it takes them to credit my account if at all.
I bought a Vilano bike for $405 from OVERSTOCK and it was damaged, called them and was told they would replace it. Liars big time. So they play games, cant find my order everytime i call, then after many calls and emails they want to give me $15 credit and refuse to replace it. I want a new bike because i paid for a new bike not damaged goods. Stay away from Overstock they will burn you nowadays. I wouldnt even give them 1 star.
Overstock refuses to pay for a needed consumer sweepstakes entry post office box denying people who want to enter an Overstock Sweepstakes program offered by Overstock to enter via Mail... clearly an unethical and unlawful practice... as the company providing the interface between Overstock and the Overstock Sweepstakes mail in entrant... Overstock senior management refuses to pay for this contracted service and with our hands on experience are not to be trusted..
I ordered, paid $599 for and received a laptop computer from OO. Trouble is it would not charge up with power.
I phoned and asked for a refund. Initially I was told that this was not their concern, I would have to take it up with the manufacturer (of course it was manufactured overseas).
I told them this was incorrect in law, that they had supplied me with faulty goods and they had an obligation in law to offer me a refund or replacement (my choice). Eventually after about 20 minutes of hassles they agreed to this, subject to my getting the goods returned to them in 30 days.
I asked for details of return address etc.: they said they would send me this by email.
The email came... no return address, just that someone would be contacting me to arrange for collection. So far, nothing.
Why do I get the impression that they are making this as difficult as possible for me?
I have been watching a bedspread for months. If it is on sale, you can not use any other promo code. I applied for Overstock credit card and said you give you 20.00. I thought it was for purchase. No wrong. When the bed spread came it was not what I wanted. Returns easy and fast it said, yes you pay for them. I thought like Amazon, wrong. I was charged almost 12.00 for return. I called and customer service not helpful at all. I have not activated the Overstock Credit Card and never will.
I have used overstock couple of times! They are great for buddings and I scored great deals buying designer handbags there as well.
Their O club is great if you shop quite a lot but for once in a while shopping like I do, I do not need that.
Answer: Hey, I would be very careful. I have transacted with Overstock three times and I don't believe there is as much security in terms of guarantee as with Amazon. And, if you buy items fulfilled by Amazon (meaning the product ships from Amazon's warehouse) you are even more guaranteed. For example, I bought some dinner napkins from an Amazon seller, fulfilled by Amazon. They were not what they were supposed to be and Amazon issued me a credit immediately and scheduled UPS to pick up my item to return. I'm very confident that with Amazon you will get quality service and if the product is not as described or substandard you will be in better hands especially with Amazon fulfilled items. Overstock is just not up to par and I wouldn't purchase something like a medicated cream from Overstock until they get it together.
Answer: I used a credit card on Overstock when purchasing my bed. It was years ago, I still sleep on it. I had no problems using my credit card on Overstock
