What I mean by this is that you have to be very selective because most films there are going to be either public domain or very obscure, however, they do provide golden age classics but you have to look deep. Which it's not a big deal for me, just ordered two DVDs one from their tTroma selection and a b movie from Conrad Brooks all the way to Mexico and sure enough they arrived safe and all. Great if you love b movies and collection items. Will order from them again. Shipping it's a little pricey (at least it was for me) so be aware that most titles are Public domain so if you're going to purchase go for the rare titles.
After avoiding OLDIES for over a year because of poor service - I had a great experience with my last order. Order went in on-line without any issues - payment went through - and order was received within 7 business days!
In the past - service was painfully slow. It took over 30 days to receive order.
I am happy to report that they are back in good graces. If it has been a while since you last worked with them - give them another try. Cheers!
DVD didn't arrive in stated time. First call I was told it was in stock and they didn't know why it had not shipped. A supervisor would be told and I would get an email about shipment— never happened.Second call told they had been busy and it would be sent. I just wanted by then to cancel the order to which I was told could not be done. Rude, nasty people.DVD finally arrived and will not play. All I get is disc error. It is not my player because all my others play just fine I have ordered from this company before and not had a problem, but this time has been awful. I will not use them again. Not worth the hassle. They must have hired new employees that don't care about customer service. I'll stick with Amazon!
I purchased over 10 DVDs from this website to set aside for my daughter each year for her birthday. Upon opening her gift, Karate Kid, there was NO dvd inside! On top of that, I didn't receive one of the DVDs that was "in stock" until 6 months later because it was backordered. Lastly, Free Shipping isn't free to Hawaii no matter how much money is spent.
Talking to customer service agent, Lynn, is like pulling teeth. This company will take your money and run. Their customer service SUCKS! This company is bad! Buyer beware.
Upon listening to my recent purchases of fifties and sixties music on the "Collectables" label; I was struck by the incredible sound quality of each recording. The selections of songs are top-notch with a mix that is pleasant to listen to. But it is the sound - clear and full - that will bring me back to order additional CD's without the worry that these are inferior because of their age.
Placed an order they took money but refusing to honor the purchase or refund my money. Per customer service orders are not cancelable or refundable that we have your money and there is nothing you can do.
We love the movies that we bought from Oldies.com. I have bought from them before and was very pleased with the dvd's then too. I review each email I get from them to see if any new old movies are available. Would recommend.
I ordered 4 records, all came in damaged covers, 1 was unplayable. I emailed customer service and was told I needed to call their customer service during their business hours. When I called, I was told a replacement was being shipped and given an ETA. After another 2 weeks waiting I contacted customer service again and was told nothing is being shipped and they won't honor a return.
Don't waste your time, their packaging is terrible so if your order is damaged they won't do anything about it. I have email chains and phone logs to support this review.
Ordered what was supposed to be new vinyl 45s but one of the 45s was scratched and wouldn't play properly. The only way it can be resolved is calling their customer service and sitting on hold forever. Shipping the product back would cost more than the product is worth.
Pre-ordered an item with a tentative shipping date. Release day came and went with no notification of actual shipping. Called customer service and was told they would take care of it. Called 3 MORE TIMES over a 2 week period and all representatives told me the same thing. "It's in stock, I don't know why it's not shipped."
Finally had enough waiting and called to cancel the order and asked for a refund. Was told no problem and here we are 3 days later and they email me with shipping information on the product I canceled.
Took them 3 weeks from the preorder release date to send it to me. I could have ordered off Amazon and got it for less in less time.
I have never had a problem with anything that I order from them. Never had any trouble getting hold of anyone when I had a question. The persons that I spoke to have always been polite and very helpful.
I always put multiple items into my cart and have them shipped when delivery will be convenient or when I have the funds to make the purchase. Shipments ALWAYS arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition. I highly recommend them if you like any of their products - prices are great also and generally complare favorably with both Amazon and eBay.
I purchased what I thought was a fairly comprehensive package that contained Close To The Edge from YES. It was listed as the CD & Blu-Ray combo that contained a blu-ray disc with multiple version of the classic album including high resolution audio, a highly regarded 5.1 surround mix, needle drop recording, instrumental album and various rare performances. They charged me over $116 for this but send me a stand redbook CD. This are widely available and sell for $4.99 at Target. Classic case of bait and switch.
This label however that works has the right to repress some CDS and press them in a CD-R format. A few months ago I bought an out of print CD from them. The only way I could get it was to have it in the CD-R format, Many months went by before I opened it. The CD-R was processed incorrectly on their behalf with the last 2 tracks damaged in play back. I called to to report it and they said too much time had passed for a new copy to be sent. WTF- You processed a damged cd and no matter how much time has gone by you should have sent a replacement copy. Talk about poor customer service-never again will I order from them.
This company is quick to deliver their product and when, during the Trump decline in mail service my package toured the United States before arriving, they were responsive in tracking the package and backed up their guarantee. I've bought from them for 20 years and they are my first choice for great CDs and DVDs.
Resist the urge to purchase rare items through this company. The price is right, they offer free shipping, give you a projected arrival time, and then... call customer service and get hung up on, discover that "in stock" does not mean currently available. I ordered an item on Sep 5, on Sep 14, told it will probably be another week. Cancelled the order.
Ordered a CD because it was massively cheaper than Amazon. Paid by PayPal. Since then 8 days and no dispatch note, no acknowledgement, nada. Sent them an email asking politely what's up. Normally you expect an automated answer saying they got the message. Nope. I'm seriously beginning to think this will be a bad experience...
The main job of Oldies.com customer service staff is to stall you until your order finally arrives which takes longer than ordering from mainland communist China in the 1970's. Your stuff, (if they even have it in stock) is actually located in Sweden, not Pennsylvania which you won't realize until your tracking number gets scanned by a guy riding a busted down Volvo towed by a reindeer with an inner ear infection. Seriously, these guys are only in business because of the sheer size of their operation, not for their treatment of what should be valued customers. I thought I was alone until I read the dozens of horror stories submitted by irate people who just want to buy online like 1000's of other merchants. Oldies.com gives online ordering a bad name and treat you like you are about to be made into a lampshade.
Ordered a Mother's Day gift, they held it up, they have a copy of an email addressed accurately to me that I don't have in my mailbox saying there was a problem, they never initiated another follow-up till the cancellation of the order weeks later. I called, agree customer service was patronizing, unapologetic and unhelpful. I asked the order be sent. Just received another cancellation notice 2 weeks after the call with no explanation. How does this place stay in business? It's like they don't want to sell product.
I ordered cd's on 11/25/2020. At the time - it appeared - from their online site - that - my CD's would ship within several days and take 2-8 business days to arrive. Now - after 23 calendar days - I can tell - that the USPS shipped the cd's on December 4th - but can't find out any more information. Oldies.com - tells me I must "be patient" - with no indication as to when I might expect the cd's. The U.S. P.S. - tells me that they won't be able to tell me anything more until the cd's are received in the Chicago Area. HONESTY - from Oldies.com - when they sold me my products would have allowed me to choose - IF I wanted to order or not. Now - I know nothing - why shop here - when other vendors of multiple types of products - charge nothing for shipping and take 1-5 business days!
Answer: Yes the are original artist on original recording. They also have reissue of recording too.
Answer: I've been a customer of Oldies.com for quite a few years now and have never had a problem.
Answer: I had a similar problem and had to call them (since they don't call back or at least e-mail you when there's going to be a delay), only to find out they were at fault for charging me shipping when my original order was well over $75 (then minus my huge credit) therefore nothing was wrong!
