I bought the 50s No. 1s 60 ESSENTIAL CD from these people 3 times and got refunded 3 times. Their ad says they had 4 in stock each time. After the refund yesterday, the ad still says they have 4 in stock. Nice.
The package arrived quickly and was well packaged. Usually they take longer but this one went out quickly. I will be ordering again.
Ordering was easy, as was checkout and payment. Product arrived in excellent condition. My only complaint is that shipping seems a bit slow. Other than that, I highly recommend oldies.com.
Well I am a little surprised to find so many negative reviews, I personally love this site, they has so many DVD's, CD's, and yes even records, it can get time consuming to go though it all, delivery time for me was fast, and efficient, my only problem with them is sometimes customer service is hit or miss if there is a problem with your order, but overall there shear selection keeps me coming back for more.
I ordered 6 vinyl LP records from oldies.com because the price was fair. I received 2 of the same album because the description claimed they were two different albums, but they were identical. One of those identical albums was so badly warped it could not be played at all. The one I could play was also warped, but not as bad. Then I opened up the Night Ranger "Big Life" album and the record looked like someone took a bite out of it. The previous owner must have been aware of this since the broken pieces were not in the sleeve or anywhere to be found. The Sad Cafe album I bought was cupped so bad I could use it as a dog bowl. The Tony Banks album, which was still in its shrink wrap, was filthy and the wrap was literally baked onto the album cover (though it did come off cleanly). Not a single album played and deserved about an F (rating on Discogs).
Upon giving them a poor review on their site I was contacted by Bernie who apologized and told me he'd see that I got a full refund and within 24 hours I did. This I appreciated immensely, but I am now gun-shy about ordering from them again. Maybe when I see more positive reviews.
Anyway, all is well and I'll just hunt down the albums I wanted somewhere else.
Oldies.com as an excellent supply of CDs, DVDs, and other items like books and magazines. The service is excellent, and they are always willing to help you. I highly recommend this site.
I had previously ordered from this company a few times when I ordered the Godfather Trilogy and a book about movie speeches. I received an email stating that my movies had been delivered to my mailbox. I checked and they were not there. I waited a few days and visited my local post office. They tracked the package and saw that it had at least been near my apartment complex but did not know exactly what box it had been placed into. I then called Oldies and was treated very rudely by a representative. I asked to speak with someone that may care about my little situation. The rep put me on hold. After I sat on hold for some time, I hung up and called back. The next person was a bit more understanding but insisted that it was not their responsibility and I needed to take it up with the post office. I explained that I had already done this and she told me to do it again. So, I did. I went back to the post office and they could not do anything except look in the back to see if it just happened to be there. It was not. I called Oldies back and spoke to the person that told me that their responsibility ended when they handed the product over to the USPS. She told me that they would not send me another set of DVD's and would not refund my lost money. The total cost was around $18. Sadly, they were willing to lose me as a customer for about $18. I do not recommend anyone purchasing anything from these rude people.
Ordered a movie for my dad that he really wanted. Placed the order on line on December 8th, on December 14th package still said being processed. Called and tLked to a lady that said call back tomorrow. They got hit by a snow storm so I waited until the 18th to call back. Talked to a lady named Myrna she told me to call back tomorrow. Um not thats what I was told to do on the 14th. She took my number and said a supervisor would call me back. 10 min later I got a email from company saying my order had been shipped economy. I tried to call them back and they blocked my number.
I preordered an album on Jan 25 as a gift. Was told it would be in stock on Feb 5. Fast foreword to Feb 15 and Im emailing and callin every couple of days and no one returns my emails and people on the phone only tell me "it hasnt gone out yet" I see they have the item in stock and have nearly doubled the price. Yesterday they cancel the order because "the entire stocking shipment was damaged". But I saw they had them in stock a few weeks ago. I get that mistakes happen BUT I AM CLEARLY BEING LIED TO. Adding insult to injury.
I've been pestering the hell out of Oldies the past month or so with orders of $4.98 CD's or other pare-off-prices deals, or at free shipping times, and so far they've come through almost every time. (And I utilize my debit card connected to my bank account, not PayPal, which could make a difference). When there was any issue (as one early order had been sitting there "in process") I used the toll-free number & almost always was lucky enough to snag a courteous representative who assisted with a various problem & followed through. I do get the impression sometimes of busyness, logically enough.
Packages are always fortified with bubble-wrap to keep contents from doing the Macarena inside en route. Only a few cracked CD cases, and so far, all CDs in working condition (out of like 200 I've pestered them for!).
"Bernie" recently mentioned that one of my no-shows would be back-ordered & sent separately, after noticing weird figures on my bank statement (usually the entire total, or total sans 1 or 2 fly-by-nights, is represented, but with one recent particular order, charged figures were split apart, and there was also a refund figure. Seeing this 4-1-1 is another advantage of utilizing a bank account).
Two orders from late last week (and stuff doesn't generally get moved around during weekends) totalling like 45 or so CDs have already been indicated via email as having been shipped (Tuesday). Somewhat early I suppose, but I can watch my bank numbers, and hope for the contentment of investing in a site that treats a good but maniacal customer truly.
FAST DELIVERY, GOOD PRICE, EXCELLENT SERVICE, AS USUAL, FROM OLDIES.COM.
I HAVE MADE MANY PURCHASES FROM THEM OVER THE YEARS, AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EXTREMELY SATISFIED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY ORDERS I HAVE PLACED. TOP QUALITY MERCHANDISE.
This is the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I talked to numerous people who had no idea what was going on with my order, or why I was receiving calls from them. I had to ARGUE with one of the customer service reps to put a manager on the phone. I placed an order on 11/23 and for weeks it sat there, and then MAGICALLY once I started complaining, my card gets charged and my item shipped. I spoke with a manager who said The office manager, Dennis, could cancel my order, but that clearly wasn't done as I came home to a shipping notification today (which now says I may get this item - which is a Christmas present - after the holiday!). This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
Terrible customer service and bad attitude Reps beening trying to reach wholesale department for 3 weeks. The reps are short and will hang up on you. They act like they hate working for this company
Not worth the discounts, they will screw you every chance they get. I swear this is in some guys basement. Rude terrible customer service when they screw up your order. Stay away from this vender.
Found out over 2 weeks after I ordered and 6 days before Christmas that the item I ordered was out of stock and unavailable. That is bad customer service. I will not be ordering from this site again.
Do NOT waste your $$ - cute stuff, but then AFTER ordering it, they do NOT send to you! I would imagine the BBB has a LOT of complaints, but I will be adding one to the list! The customer service is RUDE and I am surprised this company is still in business!
Best place to buy all your movies and music. They have cd dvd cassette lp and vhs. Great place I say. I can find something I want everytime I go on the site.
Oldies.com has a lot of hard to find CDs. Have been able to find lots of stuff I've been looking for. Also current music too. Great selection and service.
Great place to find those hard to find Lp's and CDs. I love the great selection of music and super fast delivery. Oldies.com is the best! AAA+++ Highly recommended.
Answer: Yes the are original artist on original recording. They also have reissue of recording too.
Answer: I've been a customer of Oldies.com for quite a few years now and have never had a problem.
Answer: I had a similar problem and had to call them (since they don't call back or at least e-mail you when there's going to be a delay), only to find out they were at fault for charging me shipping when my original order was well over $75 (then minus my huge credit) therefore nothing was wrong!
