If you want stolen merchandise letgo is the way to go. The app blows and so do the makers. Pay close attention to the sellers and their half asked attempt to sell used stolen tools for what you would pay for new tools...
I believe they are profiting from them somehow. Otherwise why would they allow these postings to stay up for 10 to 20 days and why else when i take the time to report these ads do they still stay up even when I report them 5 times.
Every experience I've had with them so far has been a straight scam they they on post your posting they claim it's this and that and they take your money they do this repeatedly this is a criminal Enterprise at best
They don't flag ads, and they don't remove ads that are just there and no response by owners. Site is a joke. Nothing but fake ads. Watch out for Scams
Use to be a good site. Now they take forever to list your items, especially if same item is already listed and they want more money for it, or have the premium account. Craigslist is better, and faster when it comes to listing your item. I sell more things off that website. And it's still free.
Please be aware of this selling platform. You are better off, safer, to use CPlus or Letgo applications. Customer service does not exist. There are several complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Offerup will not respond to the BBB. They will not respond to customers. When there is an investigation, they do nothing. When you ship your money is held 5-10 times longer then stated. When you ask them what' going on, you are ignored.
I had over 500 items posted over $30,000 worth of merchandise in OfferUp deleted my account I emailed them they said nothing I like to sell it back on here again you can email me carman. *******@gmail.com I would appreciate for you to get back to me
There is far too many scams. There are cars for sale that you need to use a hot mail account to contact. If you check the same car will be listed in several states and cities. They always claim to be listing it for a relative. Then there are several ad's that have unbelievable prices. You will never get what you paid for. OfferUp will not help and apparently they don't have a department to report scams to. I never got my bongos and congas and got zero help from OfferUp the scam is back up@ OfferUp
I posted a fish tank to sell, because it had live fish in it, they removed the post. Stating I was not using there guidelines and selling live animals. Now, I understand there were living fish in the tank, but really. I am selling the aquarium, and everything with it. Which included the fish. People, if the tank goes, where would I put the fish. In the bathtub? I will never use this app again nor will I recommend it.
Incredibly lame that their developers can't even get the arrows for navigating pictures on a posting correct. The arrow on the left points to the right, and the arrow on the right points to the left. $#*! backwards! I have never seen another website that screwed up something so simple. OfferUp is the worst of the worst. A complete joke and embarrasment.
Sometimes you'll get lucky to find nice things like electronics at good deals, but OfferUp SUCKS. They do Absolutely Nothing to remove scammers even after you report them. There is litterally NO-ONE working for them except someone who owns the app and makes money by "items people promote". It's a free-for-all for scammers with fake ad's from everything from Cars, video cards, cell phones, amd gaming consoles. At least 50-60% of all ads on "popular" items are scams.
So I sold an item to someone in another state. I shipped it out With a prepaid label and dropped it off at USPS. So the seller messages me that I somehow cancel the order, which was very incorrect. Apparently, the post office had and scanned my item in and manually entered it into the system. I guess offer up works on a scan system were if USPS scans the item then it tracks it on their end? Anyway, the buyer ends up sending me a message that they received the item about a week later. Offer up and refunded them their initial deposit and I get nothing. I sent offer up an email and all they said was that it was basically my fault because I waited until after the grace period to mail it out, which again was incorrect. I sent out the item within the given dates. The post office wasAt fault for not scanning the item in on time. Stay away from offer up. Now I'm out about $100 and offer up is not taking responsibility. Someone out there has my item and got it for free.
I use Nextdoor, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp to sell things. This app is by far the worst. You have no way to renew your ads unless you PAY to "bump" them! In addition, for some reason, despite marking ALL my posts as "FIRM price" I get a ridiculous number of annoying low ball offers and questions in Spanish from weird viewers, most without photos or legit profiles. Waste of time.
I get why people are upset - but it's not the app's fault... There are plenty of people out there that say they want something, and then just stop messaging...
If you expect that, then it doesn't matter when it happens. I don't go out of my way to sell something and make sure I have something set up before I go pick something up but all in all, it's great! I've sold a lot of items that I otherwise wouldn't have, have sent / shipped items, and just used common sense to protect myself...
The app is great!
Bought a car on Offer Up from a Man in my town. He gave me a title, I had the car towed to my home. When I went to resell the car the Man had given me a photo copy of a title.
There is no compensation for my loss. Reported to Police and didn't get any help. I provided an address of the Home I met the man at and had the car towed, Still no help to get this thief. Shame On Offer Up. Reported this Man to Offer Up and he's still selling!
The guy still hasn't been located and now he is back on OfferUp scamming again. Amazing. They know who he actually is, but just don't know where he is staying. Investigators are now responding to his ads, lol
Been using Craigslist for a decade and have had virtually no problems. It's not like I live in Gary Indiana or anything, so why would I. Everything has been pretty smooth. My first experience with OfferUp was a local scammer. I was new, but hardly dumb about this subject. I have busted numerous scammers in my 36 years working with the Gov't, but this site took me by surprise. The seller was local, had a 5 star rating, was verified several times over, had previous sells, etc. Yet, he was a scammer and I had no idea how easy it was to beat this poorly designed system. ANYBODY can get the Stars and badges he had. I ended dealing with a detective who was dealing with this guy, got a warrant and locked the guys account and got ALL the info of his dealings and people involved and eventually found out who the guy really is. What a fiasco. My advice? Be aware that ANYONE can appear to be a legitimate and highly rated person on this website when in fact they may not be. If you are suspicious of places like Craigslist, multiply that by 3 for OfferUP. The number of scams I have seen since far outnumber any other website I have used before. Just my opinions, but be very careful there
OfferUp is not working for 6 months was good now everybody is either non-existent a scammer a tire kicker or they want to offer 10% of the offering price nobody will meet at the police station not any good anymore OfferUp
Offerup states the shipping is $13.99 and the seller stated shipping would be too high for a Bissell carpet cleaner I tried to purchase. I told the seller what shipping states on offerup and I have heard nothing back from the seller.
I sold something on offer up, they provided me with their own shipping label, the item was delivered back on march 29th and offer up never gave me my money, I have contacted them several times and only get the same:

They have blocked my account, so I can only continue to email them and keep getting this same answer. I know it's not much $48.00, but why does offer up think that they have the right to keep money that does not belong to them. They do not even respond to BBB. I hope someone files a law suit against their fraudulent business practices
Offer up doesn't really appear to want to investigate scans. I have tried to find a way to report a scam through their website after 5 minutes of searching I could not find any way to report a scam to them. There service is terrible.
Over the last month I have tried to purchase some camera equipment. 100 percent of the sellers I contacted were scammers. The tell you OfferUp won't let them accept your offer, they won't ship with offerup, they try and get you to text them, they want your phone number, they say there from a specific city and there not. It is way to easy to get scammed offerup and offerup does very little to vet the sellers. Make sure you have the seller take a picture of the item with your name on a piece of paper next to the item at least then you know the item exits. The only safe way to buy from offerup is in person. Good luck!
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.
