This is serious, do not use Offer Up. Be careful who you think you are buying from. I recently got scammed by a seller by the name of Josh. Do not buy anything from him. He will ask you to pay through Apple pay or cash app so that you won't get your money back. Let scamming end!
I would give this app 0 out of 5 stars if I could.
Offerup should be delete. Those people are really stupid. The customer service is the worst they never respond back to any messages people send. A customer send me a broken item i report it to offerup customer service its been 3 months still no response from them. I hate this app dont get it poeple.
I purchased a baby swing that was listed as good condition. It was mailed much later than it was supposed to be and it was missing the seat, so couldn't be used. The seller messaged abusive messages through the ap. OfferUp charged me and didn't respond to my complaint. I won't trust this app again.
Logging on to account is next to impossible. I had to create a new password every time. Then, this morning I tried to log on and they had deleted my account for some "violation". I emailed to ask what violation: attempting to log on? Selling a table? In just received some rote answer. Absolutely useless site.
1. OfferUp sells your data. I started receiving lots of scam calls after giving them my phone number for "verification". 2. OfferUp deleted DOZENS of listings that took the better part of 2 days to complete. They had a 'glitch' and made me lose out on hundreds of dollars in sales that I desperately needed during the COVID lockdown. 3. On top of that dozens of their listings on the home page are old. 4. And when you search for something you get out of area products. For instance, I needed a saw, I live in Florida, why am I getting ads for Washington and California! Do NOT waste your time on this app.
Don't buy anything from these guys it's a total scam you will be ripped off of your money and there's nothing true of value to distinguish the amount of quality and integrity of life these days these people will rip you off and they're using sites like this to rip you off so don't buy anything from this site
Offer up is a total scam! Do not use this app! Scam artists regurgitating the same BS! Who uses a company to pick up their stuff and not even look at the stuff first if they like it total scam artist!
The only thing is some sellers they tend to forget they are selling used item once an item is not in it's original box it's used. They want to hold on to the item I understand they might have paid good money for some stuff but once you used it it's no longer new and it's not worth close to the price you bought it from the store. So I see some people complaining about not selling well y'all need to let go of the stuff. For those who are moving and selling their stuff either you'd have to trash it or give it away. You have the opportunity to sell it don't think you're gonna get close to the money you bought the item as new.
I want to offer shipping but they claim that the wording I'm using is causing a problem. They escalated to IT and then can't figure it out. How can IT not know how to fix their own problem?
OfferUp apparently doesn't let you post ads from your computer, only your phone, yet you can browse ads from your laptop - WHY!? I'm not sure why any company would cut themselves off from a significant revenue stream like this but that's their problem. My problem is that I resent being forced to use my phone to execute things like this. I don't want this stuff on my phone.
Offerup is becoming like craigslist. People are rude, swear at you if they do not like your price, no shows, you can report them but offerup does not doing much about it like they did when they first started. Lots of scams and when you report them, they do not remove them, it takes them days and too late for all those taken. Sorry OfferUp, but you are going downhill and people are starting not to use you anymore.
At first this was a great neighborhood resource for selling but has been taken over by autos bought from from auctions, multiple same listings- just beware that a lot of these items are technically not owners. Multiple listingReported 3 times about the same tires listed 100 times- yes 100 times but still not taken off?! Just a hint before you buy. Look at what that individual has sold or is trying to sell. Is they 50 cars sold or listed they are really a dealer who buys unwanted vehicles from actions. Yikes!
I made 3 offers on 3 different guitar amplifiers. All 3 had been sold over a year ago and couldn't remove their ad or find help to have it removed. Then I inquired about a ratty chair listed as "Free". The seller emailed me saying it was $200. On top of that if you find something to bid on while online you are redirected to try the app. You go to the app and you can't find the original item you wanted to bid on. Infuriating. DO NOT waste your time.
I sold a purse for 50.00 and offer up kept the money I was never paid. I spoke with the lady who purchased it and verified she received it. Upset that I was nit paid by offer up. I usually like offer up but this set a bad taste when I was not paid. Would like to know where my money is.
After 4 years and 168 5 star reviews they just deactivated my account. No one tells me why. No one answers my emails. It is sickening, as I am out of work and dependent on any income I can make. STAY AWAY. How do you kick someone for NO REASON? NEVER had an issue with a customer at all. SO frustrating
This is the worst app I have ever used. It is defective in more ways than i can list in one review including not receiving notifications.
It is completely not user friendly, they should have adopted the Letgo app when OfferUp acquired them.
I have a computer and cannot post on offerup. How stupid is that. They require you to download the app to post items to sell. This is the worst form of leading you down the wrong path. Offerup is totally useless in this format. Not everyone wants the app on their phone to sell one item.
Offer up support is no help whatsoever try and try to get ahold of them and it's always a useless reply. If you send an item a day or two late and the post office does not update shipping right away you basically get scammed buyer gets the money back and the item and offer up can't do anything other then have you figure it out on your own with seller.
In the middle of communications to buy a surf board they made me do truyou. What a cluster and all my text went ignored. Waited 40 minutes plus the drive and the other person never got my text. In the chaos I lost
The great deal. Offer up owes me 400 Dollars and two hours of my life back.
I was trying to contact a seller after making an offer. The seller needed sometime to think and respond which she told me. However later when I was trying reach the seller - all I saw was "Please refresh the page and try again". I messaged the seller on the message thread. It appeared the message was sent but however when I refreshed I saw the messages were getting lost. That is pathetic and less safe as well.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.
