The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I sold an item. The buyer paid $18 shipping. I did not have a box that worked so I was willing to PAY the extra $4 to ship it to get it out. I immediately reported to OfferUp providing both tracking numbers so they could see it shipped with the label I bought. My buyer got the
Item before Christmas with the label I bought. Now offerup has canceled my order because it wasn't shipped with their label. I have contacted "support" several times and they keep telling me it didn't ship even AFTER I provided the message from my buyer thanking me that it got there for Christmas! All I want is my money for the item and what the buyer paid for the shipping! I'm pulling all my items off the site!
Unlike Ebay, which holds their sellers accountable, Offerup does not such thing. Sellers list items and then fail to ship with zero accountability. Sellers can do this over and over again with no penalty. So you waste your time looking for an item, pay for it, the seller doesn't ship, and Offerup doesn't care. They also don't remove items when you report them as scams, so you're basically on your own. You might as well go to a crack house and buy stuff with this level of involvement and protection.
Like anywhere, stick to face to face and be safe! Buying off Offerup with shipping is taking a chance of getting scammed. I've noticed they will sell items with zero intentions of shipping and will ghost you after payment. Many will refer you to their bogus rating which are easily manipulated. And, the staff there are more concerned about sellers than protecting the buyers.
Stay clear of this place
Offerup has NO customer service response. No phone line. Customer support never responds.
Every upgrade to their app is slower, worse, and functions more poorly.
If ANYONE makes a good classifieds website, i will go there, because i"M done with offerup. They have screwed me for the last time.
I sold an item on offerup valued $20. Brand new sealed in packaging. The buyer bought it for 8.00 and received it. Buyer messaged me telling me her dogs ate the package and ruined it. She requested a refund from offerup. Offerup gave her back her money and showed how the package was actually not ruined, it was still new in the package. I contacted offer up and got no response on how the buyer gets to keep the item and get the money back. OFFER UP HELPED THE BUYER STEAL FROM ME AND SCAMMED ME.
It's November 1st and I'm trying to check my prices on my Christmas items and it's not showing my all my items just like first 20. I even logged out and back in and still doing it so annoying! I hope they fix it ASAP!
Horrible customer service I have sent multilabel request for a password pin reset with not reply I can not access site to respond to buyers
This is got to be the most ridiculous way to sell your things, almost every response I've gotten from my items it's just a waste of time, excuse me...(they're wasting my time) or they don't show up. What a JOKE.
You are advertising for furniture stores that will never take an offer if I wanted to shop there ai would go there. Was on for 1 day and now Uninstaller and FYI people from these places ate soooooooooo fing rude!@@!
OfferUp sucks! They send you notifications for crap you don't want. It had nothing to due with what you were looking for. I would delete the notifications and within an hour they come back up. Plus, these old listings, even from 3 years ago, why are they not gone? And even some new ones, you ask about the item to this so called person, and they never answer back. W T F? They just listed it! OfferUp needs to have a timeframe for the listings. Like 1 week, then it's deleted. If they still have it, list it again.
I posted up my 1999 mitsubishi 3000gt sl for sale. The first time I had a free vehicle listing so I had listed it up for free. Then immediately after I listed my car I got a notice saying my post went against the rules for some odd reason. So I figured it was a computer error or something... So I did it all over again but this time I had to pay $7 fee to list my car. As soon as I paid and listed it my account got removed completely and a notice was sent to me saying they banned me and removed my account permanently. I have no idea what for and I have no idea why my car goes against their rules. I did everything accordingly and posted it 100% accurately. It's a huge headache and a waste of time. I like CL 10x better because CL is not full of pointless headaches like offerup is. Constantly sending me spam emails, no sales ever, just a bunch of bull crap! Take my advice and stick to CL. Even fb marketplace is better then this offer up. Offer up is by far the worst way you can try to sell anything. Don't use them!
I had my account for years, posted an item and they sent me a message the deleted my post. I contacted customer service asking for an explanation so it doesn't happen again and their response was blocking my account. I thought it was a selling site in which you can list your items but it seems like a scam operation. Stay away from this scam.
I used offer up for about a year. Had a lot of repeat customers buying in bulk and always looking for what I was headed to offer next. All my reviews were top notch. But it is turned in the total s*** and chaos. Told my customers my friends where else to find me cuz I wasn't going to be here anymore..
I posted a fish tank to sell, because it had live fish in it, they removed the post. Stating I was not using there guidelines and selling live animals. Now, I understand there were living fish in the tank, but really. I am selling the aquarium, and everything with it. Which included the fish. People, if the tank goes, where would I put the fish. In the bathtub? I will never use this app again nor will I recommend it.
OFFER UP SUCKS. PERIOD! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS SH— app. They rip you off. They steal your money. You can't talk to a human being or even fn robot. That tells you how legit this sh— is.
They basically stole from me. I sold something, shipped it on time, and they cancelled the order EVEN THOUGH THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED. So the customer received my item and a refund. Must be nice. Tried contacting customer service twice with no replies. Definitely don't sell on OfferUp or don't ship.
Sold item and shipped to customer offerup collected money and said my bank will not let them put money in my account. They asked for a debit card i gave them total of 4 two from bank account and two from my paypal and my wifes paypal still say they cant deposit money. So i asked for th to send me a check and they said they dont do that. So im put $180 and there are no phone numbers i can find to contact them. Everytime i email th it takes minimum of 24 hours for someone to respond.
Stay away from this fraudulent cpmpany
OfferUp would like you to think of them as a better marketplace than Craigslist, Ebay, or Facebook Marketplace. They are not.
Offerup has two primary issues:
1) OfferUp makes it easy for fraudsters/scammers to utilize the site
2) OfferUp makes it very difficult for legitimate users to utilize the site.
Offerup has an aggressive "ban" program that appears to have little to no validation in it. So if you're a legitimate user that happens to run into one of the many bad actors on this platform, the bad actors can easily get you banned from the site.
It's not worth the hassle or aggravation of dealing with this platform - use Ebay or Facebook Marketplace.
NOTE: If you've been banned for no reason, and you want back on Offerup, file a complaint with the BBB. Offerup seems to have dedicated customer service agents to review/resolve complaints through the BBB (and the general complaint is they ignore/don't respond with any detail/don't resolve the issue through their normal customer support channel.). But once OfferUp accuses you of being an unsavory client of theirs, do you really want to continue to utilize them?
So use OfferUp at your own risk, and don't be surprised when you get a notice of being banned with no detail and without validation.
In my case, after having an account for a few years, I attempted to buy a product from a buyer. It was set up to ship and it was a fixed price. I bought the item at the listed price, and then started getting questions from the buyer on how they were supposed to ship it. I pointed the seller to the OfferUp shipping FAQ's, and shortly thereafter, the buyer canceled my payment.
Again, I have no idea why my account was banned - OfferUp provides no details. Their lack of transparency on matters like this is unacceptable for a platform operator today. Take your business elsewhere.
This app really makes no sense. I jumped through all the hoops of verifying and I even had to reset and talk to customer service, changed my password waited over 24 hours finally was able to make an offer go through and within that same hour I was banned for life. Now mind you this is literally my very first time ever being on the app I have a brand new account and this is my very first Buy. I don't sell on the app and I have not posted anything on the app. After I finally got my offer by to go through within less than 30 minutes my email said that I was completely banned from OfferUp. They removed my account and canceled any order that I made. You can clearly see that this has no real bearing on real life of why they would ban me. They claim to have good fraudulent protection but I read a bunch of scammers on there stay on there they don't ban the sellers but they ban new buyer accounts for no reason. It's super frustrating but who knows they're 1.2 star review is so low on the internet that maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I was removed from this app. I've red horror stories but I really wanted to get a collecting card set that it was on there... if I were you I would stay far far away from this app.
OfferUp did not appreciate me calling them "hypocrites" for removing my ad because I pointed out that paid advertisers sell same item. The next day my acct was removed... apparently I hurt someone's little feelings... TRUTH HURTS... LOL...
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
