I have used offerup since the beginning and it started out with both good responses and eyes on postings while also being able to find great deals. But since the merger with letgo, it has continued to slide downhill. First, they changed their tile layout where it was fun to see the different shaped postings before. Now everything is square and uniform and it loads slower. There are way more ads now which are more and more of a nuisance. But worst of all, very few eyes on any posting now vs then. Unless you pay the promotion fees. Its like 2 views where before any posting would be dozens and sometimes much more. So selling anything or even the free item posts fewer people are seeing. And now the buying items are more junk than before where if people have anything good they would choose another method. I used to like this ap and found cool stuff and had sold a few items, but performance has really gone downhill.
I contacted both seller and Offerup immediately with pictures regarding an open package as well as spilling contents... further the seller never even sent what he promised... Offerup ignored all requests until AFTER the 2 day "period" at which point they told me "it was too late" I can't begin to describe how clearly unethical and fraudulent this company is. They purchased Letgo and since then, there are numerous reports of this company failing to mitigate anything online. They will not honor the "protection" and they will lie to your face...
I have reported over 100 scammers offering Rolex and other high end watches for under $500. They all have account dates of July 2022 and tell you to respond off platform. The accounts are all different, but the embedded contact info is always IG hypetime00. Apparently, they must get value from allowing these scammers to exist as they never do anything to stop them. Just look at the hundreds of newer Honda cars advertised for $800... At least Craigslist hammers scammers almost instantly.
Way too difficult to deal with. Need an android or what ever phone texting, apps. Follow the crazy path to facebook. Do this do that. Too many steps just to list an item? Craigs list is easy 123. Even ebay. They wont return a call you cant leave a message. How rude. They can hide behind the computer screen detached customer service. Whos got time to deal with going back and forth to get signed up? Its a bunch of baloney. Another ridiculous company. If your a robot and want to deal with texting and cell phones all day long. Not a normal life. Some goof ball came up with this website just to list an item? Wont ever use them.
I will no longer do business with them. Their app is too dysfunctional the buyer somehow requested a refund but I clicked on their inbox it says forbidden error 5gg143v4
Their two day protection has expired so when am I getting my money? Even though it's $10.00 no biggie I still want it for gas or something.
I've been "trying" to look at cars for sale but there are soooo many scams that I'm done with the whole site! I used it a lot when it was still Let Go with great success... But this Offer Up site is just a disappointment and not worth using... Such a shame too! If they only paid attention to the posts...
I've tried Offerup several times and I keep finding ads that are a year old or more. This makes trying to find something impossible. I know the seller is an A-hole for not removing the ad when their item sells but Offerup should have an automatic ad removal after 30 days. Also, sellers don't respond to questions. It's like the millennium ad site as these useless young weirdos are afraid to talk to strangers. LOL. What a crappy and useless business this is. I'll stick to Craigslist.
They are constantly kicking people off for absolutely no reason. When you ask them why, they do not respond. My communications with buyers/seller have been fine, but Offer Up is the problem. STAY AWAY from OU! They are too involved in your transactions. I hope they close. Their ratings are terrible and it is obvious why.
Do not waste your time on Offerup. I've had two occasions where I've emailed a seller to purchase their item lot and those individuals were completely incompetent. I waited over a month to hear back and even messaged questioning what was going on. Long story short, I reported these sellers to customer service and they've done nothing. It seems like they're more then content to have fraudulent sellers on their site. Stick to Ebay or Amazon!
There is nothing but scam artists when you put something up there. They took over let go and just run off her up into the ground. Can't get in contact with anybody. Merged but all the reviews I had lost. Very upsetting
Offerup does nothing on security and safety of their own client's, reported an ad that tried to scam me, two days later its still posted? Now scammer has 5 star reviews? Sold 5? Bought 10? From their own scams lol. And the shipping scam offerup makes you use is a ripoff worse then the scammers. Our company banned it from company phones.
Someone registered my email address falsely. Never had an account. Never verified the email address Scammer started selling (fake) cars in my name. Can't believe this joke site allows people to sell stuff without verification. Disgusting clowns. Real rating= 1000 stars.
Be careful what you post. What's good for the goose may NOT be good for the gander. It seems as though OfferUp's screening process of "Prohibited" items is quite selective and only goes so far. Customer service is no help whatsoever as actual people don't respond. Inquiries and complaints are handled automatically with general prefab responses. Good luck!
All offers for listings in this community are less than the asking price. On an average of 30%. This scavenger site and it's members are oblivious to average mark ups on consumer goods, which is far lower. DO NOT USE, unless you intend to give away your belongings, and in that case use charitable organizations. You will spend far less time than dealing with low ball offers from people that don't follow through. Deleted my account 11/24/19.
Here is another complete failure that is shared in a large part by the sellers. The biggest joke I see when someone is trying to ship something that weighs in excess of a hundred pounds and it's so obvious and OfferUp shipping rules Clearly say the item cannot be in excess of 20 lbs. And here is well the sellers don't like to answer questions or even reply to messages but these are self-inflicted wounds because their description of the item they're selling is so vague. Real simple solution to major problem is to make the ads expire after 30 days hello? This is not rocket science. I've seen ads on there that are more than a year old totally unacceptable.
I read the reviews, and most were so poor. People not following through, bad offers, etc. Get over yourselves. It's a great place to post stuff you want to see. Keep an open mind and laid back attitude. If you are not willing to negotiate a price, go to eBay. This site has value.
Offer up is a joke I rather use marketplace. They cancelled my site because I wanted to offer free food and money to local charities and people in need. Sad they worry more about filling their pockets than to help needy.
This app for some reason is horrible. I get messaged everyday by someone saying they want to buy my item and i reply and then i never hear from them again! I have so many items that are inexpensive but nothing gets sold! Never had this problem in california with other ones. And theres no way of reaching them to figure out how to fix/ block all the scammers and getting their help. What kind of business leaves no way of communicating with them?!
I have been selling on different platforms for a few months now with some success. I decided to branch out and give Offerup a try. After going through all the steps to validate myself and my honesty I noticed that I was unable to list any of my products through my computer. It seemed to be a bit of an inconvenience but I thought I could work around it. After making a listing through my phone I began to search for my ad. I changed the setting to show me items within a 5 mile radius. Even though I live in SC I kept getting results from Texas? No matter what adjustments I would make the same ads kept showing up telling me that these are NOT organic results. Don't waste your time with this app.
I have contacted, numerous times, OfferUp customer service but haven't been contacted back in over a year. If you are going to buy up the competition (letgo) then you should do something to improve it.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
