Sideboard was ordered in October and told it would be delivered early January. Finally delivered mid March with a smashed hole in the back. Delivery men took photos and phoned OFL, leaving the sideboard with us. I followed up with a phone call the next day and was told that the delivery men hadn't uploaded the photos, which included the white label which they had taken away with them. OFL said they couldn't process a replacement until they had this, and they would contact the depot. The same thing went on for over a week with me making 8 phone calls, each over an hour due to incredibly long wait for them to answer. Eventually they agreed to replace and offered the unpacking service as compensation. 2 weeks later the new sideboard arrived and was dumped, fully packaged, in the front garden because they hadn't added the unpackaging service to the order. I will never, ever, buy from OFL again
Absolute joke of a company! We ordered furniture in January 2021 on the understanding delivery would be within 18 weeks (which was long enough). We were then contacted the week of expected delivery to be told 'sorry there has been a delay because of the pandemic' - that old chestnut! We rescheduled for first week of June and surprise surprise we have been contacted again to say there has been a delay. What other company would get away with this! They are sitting on our money making interest on it and yet they have absolutely no commitment with delivering the furniture. How long are companies going to use this excuse 'the pandemic, covid blah blah blah'. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Don't fall for there discounts and sales as they are irrelevant - they are discounting something you are never going to get!
After shopping around a lot, I found the sofa I'd been searching for in OFL. I asked the manager about the composition of the seats and he explained they were the best quality etc. He sat on the sofa whilst talking to me and as he stood up again, the seat cushion bounced back to shape. However, when the sofa was delivered it had a hole in the bottom of it where you're supposed to screw the legs into. It had a cheap plastic covering underneath and wasn't the quality I expected. I rang customer services immediately, who said they'd send a technician to fix it. Not satisfied with that, I requested a replacement. After the phone call, I sat on the sofa to test for comfort, just for a moment, when I stood up the fabric of the seat cushion was crumpled up as if it were an old, well used sofa. Goodness knows what it'd look like after a couple of months. I cancelled the replacement, even then they tried to deliver it to me the following week. Waiting on a refund now. Cheap, shoddy workmanship that should never have passed inspection. Presume it was made overseas.
I will never use this company again. Ordered a dining room table and four chairs online. The table top has stain marks on it - which are not wood knots or colour varaitions, submitted the problem with photos online as instructed. They have not been in touch and I have tried to rung them numerous times but just get put in a queue (high call volume) it is always the same regardless of what time of day I ring. Been on hold for an hour in my longest call.
Well we specified a delivery date that we would both be home for and told them an absolute no for one particular date. They tried to deliver on the date we said absolutely no to. Then they made us wait another 2 weeks for our table and chairs. If only we knew what a pile of junk we had bought. The sales team were good to be fair but you've got to be when the product you sell is rubbish. We haven't complained as the customer service was challenging at best during the delivery process so we've bought a new one and the Oak Furniture Land one is waiting for the skip.
Think before you buy here don't waste your time and hard earned cash on this.
I bought a bedroom set; cupboard and draws. It looks great and is nice and heavy but the draws are only 3/4 the depth of the unit. So for each draw I lose around 4-5" in depth. Just so they can save a little money in wood. I bought online. Had I bought in the shop I'd have noticed and would not have bought it. Learn fro my mistake and go elsewhere.
Wanted a dining room table and chairs, but undecided on what style. The stock examples on display at the York branch of Oak Furnitureland was surprisingly extensive, and with the help of salesman Marcus, the ideal setup for us was quickly found. There was no pressure seemingly applied just good old fashioned salesmanship, and the whole process was swift, easy and covid save. Prices were very competitive considering the quality of the furniture involved. Would definitely return for future needs.
We ordered a corner sofa from them and waited 6 weeks for you to deliver two right hand parts and no left. Then they tell me to wait over 2 months to put it right! Seriously! When I question this and say cancel my order they didn't even care, put up a fight to keep me as a customer or my sale even when I cancelled our other items. The most shocking customer service I've received in a very long time! What a joke! Do I recommend Oak Furniture Land? No I blinking don't! I recommend you all stay well clear!
Don't promise customers they'll receive their order when you don't know where your own stock is. The representative said ‘without searching to the depths of the earth I won't find it'. No love try just searching your warehouses!
I am very disappointed with this company as the items that they sell are of very good quality, but unfortunately their customer service is just the opposite.
I ordered a suite in their store in a sale and had to pay up front as the salesperson said the sale was ending that day, but later found that this was not correct as the sale continued. This was at the beginning of January and that the delivery date would be May 18th. When I rang at the end of April to confirm the delivery would as stated and after a very long wait to speak to an representative, I was informed that the delivery date had been put back to the end of June.
I received an SMS on my phone this morning to get in touch with customer services regarding my order but after a lengthy wait I finally gave up and went onto their website and entered my order details, I get the following message, Failure! Order ofl-62****0 is unable to be added to your account.
After this experience, I will never ever deal with this company again
This company robbed us. In January, we bought a piece of furniture. Delivery was due on May 12th. Today I got a message that this date is not available. Next available delivery date is December. Our bill was increased by £ 59.99 for delivery. No contact possible, the hotline is still unavailable. Thieves!
The bed came with the headboard snapped in half, it must have been run over or chucked off a cliff. The side draws were also smashed. The mattress also came with a large stain in the middle, disgusting. Customer team are a nightmare.
Received a delivery for a 3 seater sofa and heavily disappointed. Lightweight construction, very cheaply upholstered with loose threads all over. Far eastern manufacturing made in a rush to send over to muggy customers like me. And you too if youre not careful.
Waited 16 weeks for my order to come only for it to be badly damaged. Returned and still waiting for my refund. Contacting customer service is a joke!
Experiencing high call volumes at 9am when they open? I don't think so...
We bought 2 three piece suites from oak furniture land, both were returned as after sitting on both for about 30mins each the leather became loose & ruckled badly, the back of the one settee was not filled properly & sat back on it went near on flat, what you see in the showroom isn't what you get delivered, terrible quality, go else, they are a nightmare.
I ordered a coffee table November 2020, delivery time was already 12 weeks which i found incredible. A couple of days before delivery due in March I received an email telling me it would be delayed due to COVID-19? I called them explained my annoyance and they refunded my £10 delivery. Delivery now booked for April 8th, just had a further email telling me once again due to COVID it will be delayed again until April 29th!. Im guessing I'll receive yet another email nearer the time delaying my table further. I absolutely would not recommend this company. It wouldn't be so bad if they had just taken a deposit but no they ask for full payment upfront, they must have a massive bank account of peoples money.
I ordered dining room furniture (dining table and 6 chairs, 2 x sideboards, 2 x lamp tables and a coffee table) on 5th October 2020 and was given a delivery date of 11th Jan 2021. Shortly before this date we sold our existing furniture to make room for the new furniture.
Then nearer the delivery date we were told that most of the order was available but not the dining table and chairs. We asked to have everything else delivered, but were told that we would have to pay for the full order to do this - so we did. We accepted the new delivery date for the dining table and chairs which was 30th March.
Then today (26th March) we are told that the delivery date has now been moved back to 23rd April.
After the usual "we are experiencing an unusually high demand" on the phone line, It was confirmed that we couldn't have our dining table and chairs until the new date (remember, the order was placed on 5th October 2020!). I suggested that as this was all one order, I should cancel the whole order and ask them to collect the part order which had been delivered. I explained that I had a contract with them to supply a full set of furniture that they hadn't completed in the contracted time, and therefore I had every right to cancel the contract and receive a refund - I was told that I couldn't do that.
Wishing to be reasonable, I suggested a suitable compromise would be for them to deliver the 6 dining chairs (which were available and paid for) and temporarily lend me a dining table from my local shop until my table arrived in late April (or who knows when). This compromise was rejected out of hand by Oak Furniture Land. (Don't forget, we haven't had a dining table or chairs for months at this point)
What a wonderful experience this has been - be warned! Appalling customer service.
Waited 3 months for delivery for my items from the HOVE range. Delivery guys were great, took products to the room specified.
Opened head and foot board to find that the paint job on the foot board was shoddy at best and the head board was broken. Looked as if someone had kicked it in before putting it in the box. On top of this, the head board was also poorly painted and dowels could be clearly seen as it was not put together correctly and they had tried to paint over it.
Called customer service the same day, was told to sleep in the bed anyway until a replacement could be sent (in 3 months), had to inform them that this is a HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK. Had to ask to have the broken items collected and was initially only offered £45.00 refund for the inconvenience of having a broken bed delivered and having to sleep on the floor for the next 3 months. After waiting a further 15 mins, was then informed that they would be able to offer a £50 refund.
Also ordered 2 blanket boxes, have only opened one so far. Packaging is not easy to put back in the box or take it out. Tipped it on to mattress to make sure nothing would be damaged (even though was still in packaging). Found scuff marks in the paint work, dents in the wood work and had a poor paint job.
Not looking forward to taking the other blanket box out of the box at the risk of further disappointment.
If the wait and the broken items (which are apparently quality controlled) were anything to go by I shouldn't have been surprised with the customer service, but it was truly SHOCKING to be told to sleep in a defective and broken bed especially after sending through the images of it.
The level of incompetence and lack of empathy is astounding.
3 weeks late with delivery then just left wardrobe when I'd paid extra for delivery to a room of my choice. Told wouldn't fit due to packaging so I took packaging off only to be told they could no longer touch item as I'd removed packaging? It was a joke. Parked in front of neighbours who then couldn't get out and one delivery person was extremely rude giving one word answers and walking off. Left my daughter in tears. Customer services were not interested in the slightest. Will never buy from them again.
Ordered the brindle range a bookcase, coffee table, TV unit and storage box. On arrival the storage box hinge was broken lid would not close. Phone call to customer service they offered to knock £50 off! Eventually agreed to collect and sent new one after sending photos etc. The bookcase had paint off they suggested taking bottom drawer out for a colour match at Wickes! What a cheek! My partner then went out to new car it was damaged, huge dent across left side. Phone call again admitted it it was them from dash camera on van, cost £1600 and paid. Then to top it off furniture has cracks appearing all over it. The cost of furniture was €1400. Would not recommend or even deal with Oak furniture land again.
So we ordered 4 items in September, for January delivery. This was cancelled by the company as 1 or more items were delayed, we were emailed for us to rebook delivery, first availability mid March. Complained on Facebook as couldn't get through on the phone. They kindly arranged delivery for tomorrow, 3rd Feb. Hadn't received a text to confirm timeslot for tomorrow, so called to be told it's next week! Hung up on, phoned back to be told they cancelled again as one or more items not available, a different one this time. No phone call, text, email or message again. Took our money in September, still no furniture! First time it was covid, now problems at the port. Clearly excuses, Oak Furnitureland joke of a customer service is the problem. Gave a review of 1 star as I couldn't submit with none!
Answer: They won't last long. The store managers are terrified that the stores will close as people use the internet for OFL products. Naturally there will be more internet complaints so the company will struggle. Avoid, unless you have lots of time to waste.
Answer: Fairly sure the stuff we ordered is made in Vietnam
Answer: Ikea customer service. Excellent. These clowns should be closed down. BBC watchdog should take up a story here..
