Proactively asks for customer feedback
This company does not typically respond to reviews
Nextdoor plays games with customers when they make a complaint. In addition, they claim they will respond to complaints but never do.
Most contacts that comes across if consecutive, will be taken down. Their moderation does little good. I have seen six to one to keep a comment or post up and nextdoor still take it down. One good way of getting kick off, just support Trump. In fact the name national politics from the main feed just because of it. It is ok to mention BLM but don't mention any white groups. If you do, plan on getting banned fo thirty days.
Nextdoor is an excellent source of neighborhood news, information on nearby medical professionals, repair services, dining, just about anything. You can ask for help, sell stuff, help solve others' problems, and get help with your own.
Nextdoor helps you stay in the loop about issues within your community. It's a helpful source of home improvement info & any unlawful problems you might be concerned about.
This website is a great way for neighbors to stay informed and know whats happening in your area and surrounding neighborhoods. I know our local police department uses this website also to provide information. This website is helpful to those people reaching out to their neighbors if they need help with something like finding a lost pet or looking for a good electrician or plumber or any type of service. I do know that some of the ads on Nextdoor, particularly the general Real Estate blasts can be misleading information about your neighborhood real estate values so take those with "a grain of salt".
Well, we have a couple of awesome writers on our Nextdoor and I love reading their stories. They are real life happenings that are made so interesting that you want more.
At first it was all about lost dogs or stray dogs. That was not appealing to me, people keep your dogs up. We also have somebody that asks once a week for trash pickup recommendations & everybody and their stray dogs feel the need to tell about their's service provider. I tell them to check last weeks conversations.
However, there are a lot of good recommendations that we don't know about that is quite helpful!
All in all, it is an awesome site and you find out who you would enjoy knowing better and the whiners!

Overall it s valuable and I rely on it for local info. Sometimes the belly achers get going and I just ignore those. I've used Nextdoor to sell several items with excellent success.
Gulf Breeze Neighbors-Nextdoor serves as a community-wide source of valuable information about significant public safety and public interest relevant situations. From lost or found pets, to unsafe driving patterns to city maintenance issues, Nextdoor, not only keeps the public informed, but it also works well as a medium to send questions and complaints to city government, as the city manager maintains a constant vigilance of new posts and often times can accurately dispel rumors or devote attention to valid complaints.
I like being able to chat with my neighbors quickly and easily. I feel much more aware of what is happening in my neighborhood.
However, I am trying to offer free services to my neighborhood, and I feel very restricted in how Nextdoor allows me to notify my neighbors. I can only post in the finds section or "make a local deal", which creates a post in the local deals section. I don't think these sections are viewed nearly as often as the general or recommendations sections. It is disappointing that many neighbors will not know about my free services, which are a way for me to give back to my community.
In my case, without my knowledge or permission, they published on their site all my personal contacts with their names, phone numbers & emails. I made copies of what they published & contacted the police. I then had to hire a professional to remove it who informed me that unbeknownst to the public when you sign up with them, they have the right to expose private info.
I realize that it's a fact of life that advertising makes the Web go around, but there seem to be more of them every day. Ah well, that said, Nextdoor is great for neighborhood alerts, local events, spreading news (good and bad), and, particularly, civic awareness. The pluses outweigh the minuses by a lot. I'm glad to have Nextdoor!
We had a delicious Italian dinner from Giannin's. It's located in San Ramon
It's just past the used car lot. My only complaint was I wish they didn't package their food in styrofoam. It isn't biodegradable. Sturdy plastic wouldn't leak and you could microwave. Carole
I have used this site a couple times, it does work, if you got a question, you are likely to get an answer.
My initial complaint was that Nextdoor included 30 surrounding neighborhoods, making it too big. However, I discovered that you can specify which neighborhoods are included in your "feed", which makes it much more relevant. Of course, some of the posts are just crazy or stupid or worthless, as are some of the comments, but these are easily recognized and skipped over, and there are plenty of useful posts and discussions to make the site worthwhile. And if you've lost a pet or need help, the response can restore your faith in humanity.
During sign-up, nextdoor wanted access to my contact list and would not proceed without it, but I saw no valid reason for them to need that and refused to betray the trust of everyone on that list. I stopped at that point and sent a message to nextdoor. They never replied, Update: They never said anything about my refusal to give access to my contact list, but they did approve my membership. Now that I've used the site, I discovered that my "neighborhood" includes about 30 surrounding neighborhoods, so most of the people aren't even close to being "nextdoor". There are some nice features, but overall my reaction is still "meh".
If you like to be in the know about what your neighbors are up to, just check into Nextdoor! But, if you can't be bothered with trivial rants about somebody's missing cat, or dogs barking all night; then, you might not like reading the Nextdoor posts. Just saying...
The ability to reach out to within your community is great at Nextdoor. But connectivity to anyone at Nextdoor's site? Forget it entirely.
We Split our time equally between two residences, two states. So is there an ability to use Nextdoor at both? Nope. Their IT design prevents it. Sort of strange considering the number of people with similar circumstances.
No solutions within the knowledge base. And, no ability to communicate to the administrators of Nextdoor.
It's a little crazy. Okay, a lot crazy, for a site who focuses upon connectivity?
Unlike others, I don't object to freedom of speech be it local or national politics and would rather see less censureship than more. I think a forum like Nextdoor is very usual for getting information to the public. And members should feel free to disagree and express that in a reasonable manner.
On a practical level, there should be more categories in the "for sale" listings, like holiday etc. there's too much to browse when you are looking for something specific or trying to sell something specific.
This is a great forum for sharing information relevant to our neighborhood. I especially like getting referrals of vendors that my neighbors recommend. I only gave it 4 stars because sometimes a small percentage of the users will use it to complain excessively about some trivial matter which can get really annoying.
The app could be more user friendly and better organized. However, in this day of automation... where neighbors aren't meeting each other face to face (not like the used to)... this is a great way to share neighborhood information. In my area we've shared; mail issues and contacts to resolve the issue // window washing recommendations // crime information and prevention // job information... etc.
I have recommended this app to family and friends to get connected.
Overall, Nextdoor proves its value by allowing neighbors to exchange ideas, find lost pets, share relevant local information, reviewing businesses and linking neighbors with like interests. While I agree with censorship when it comes to profanity, harassment and other bad behaviors, ND does tend to censor/ remove posts if you have a conservative POV without violating the behaviors listed. Many folks have commented on this.
I was kicked off nextdoor for stating my real experiences and trying to reason with leftist extreme brainwashed neighbors with constructive comments and experiences observations. Neighbors went on spewing these obscene made up underpinned anti American agenda. Nextdoor based in SanFrancisco and backed by a former Walmart administrator and Benchmark Capital among other supporters. The CEO sent out a notice to everyone about racism(when where I come from the black population has the upper hand). They are catered to way over whites, want everything ha drs to them above every other ethnic group and it is so out of hand only a brainwashed idiot would fall for it.
I have posted issues such as kittens being abandoned in our neighborhood. The responses were so helpful... we have a wonderful community here.
The above title does not lend itself to the creation of a plethora of lasting friendships. Actually, most humans prefer to be "receivers of praise", to remain ignorant of their faults and to receive positive attention when they believe they have done something (anything) noteworthy. This lifestyle is indicative of weakness of character, or even fear. For me, I have always sought out comfort and a knowledge of my worthiness, by continually constructing, re-constructing my relationship with Almighty GOD. There is a never ending supply of personal comfort in doing this, it allows one to recognize that we are all sinners and He knows our every thought, therefore introspection ceases to be a danger. Our salvation is not attained by some "good deed(s)" that we do, rather by living our lives, fully aware that the knowledge of our conduct is always available to the One who matters. He who has all knowledge and lives beyond time, offers each individual human a pathway to being able to eternal praise Him and enjoy pleasures beyond human comprehension. Personally, I have, and continue to enjoy my membership in "Nextdoor", for it's openness, for it's usefullness and the many idea's it contains. Good job friends!
Essentially, it's a community bulletin board, plus, and creates a sharing of comments and feelings within a defined area, in addition to serving as a neighborhood watch and news source. The downside is that inevitably there are residents who will moan and complain about things or each other publically, and even start arguments using Nextdoor as their buffer. And some comments made publically are highly in appropriate. Some people also tend to use it as their platform for expressing political or religious beliefs, which always create polarization.
Once upon a time in a land far far away there was this app called Nextdoor.
The concept was to help folks navigate problems in the community, review particular services or just post silly things from the neighborhood. Sadly today, it has become a place for folks to share their anger, complaints and criticisms. More often than not, if anyone disagrees in any way with a post they get attacked. If you post something others don't like, you get attacked, the worst part is when those that disagree with your comments are 'leads'.
I think the original intent was excellent, now it is no better than FaceBook or Twitter when it comes to the attack trolls.
Nextdoor App
Conservatives must definitely use caution, it's very easy to be removed permanently, if you go against the Lead's agenda.
I find this app best for locating missing pets and sharing photos of wild animals from a game camera... you know, the cute ones!
4 star rating only for locating missing pets, l find the rest of the information to be one-sided and it's best to do your research for the facts and figures presented.
Always use caution when meeting someone for the transfer of money for the goods being sold... sometimes it's not worth the risk. No matter what the money saving value is.
While the concepts is good, several things are not thought through resulting in creating conflicts.
E.g. How to add reviewers or leads. Today the process is. There is no process. Someone in the community recommends and next-door seems to be taking their own decisions based on that. Should have vetting of existing leads / check with more people.
Groups. Concept is good but can overwhelm the experience.
When neighbors start talking, good things happen.
