Next door is very restrictive in the conduct and comments allowed. Relative to visiting an HOA and learning to exit stage right. Statements and comments are misinterpreted to their way of thinking.
Next Door users take advantage of comments they choose to be offensive when they're not.
ND censors speech they or their monitors don't like, such as conservative factual speech. Choose another platform! For example there is Conservative Club group that I am a member of and all too often good, honest interaction is censored by monitors claiming that the monitor did not pull the post.
Horribly racist & useless.
I Haven't sold a thing on its marketplace, which has a free section that people post items with price sheets in the pictures, with a listing price of free, violating terms. I have been advertising on their platform for over a year as an operations manager, and as an individual, and got zero business leads.
It's discrimination, and your account will be suspended to argue that there is no white privilege, only american privilege. I'm told white privilege is a thing, and many people on the app openly embrace that anti-american ideology, but you can't post your opinion, at least not if youre white. It is somehow discrimination to inform your neighbors that there are illegal aliens living in the woods, with a link to the news article explaining that 3 have already murdered one citizen, while another was just found dead hiking, and let's not forget the woman found dead on the ma/pa trail! Or any of the children raped, murdered, some even in human sacrificial executions, in this country, usa, by illegal aliens the democrats have allowed into our country.
They actively censor speech that they don't like, so unless you lost a pet, this app is worthless!
When consumers give value information about corrupt businesses such as Annabelle's Pet Care-Nextdoor will permanently kick off the whistle blower and protect snd promote the illegal business. It's as if they take kickbacks from illegal businesses to hide their corruption.
I noticed during Covid they started censoring people who had opposing opinions. They have only improved on doing so, 5 months ago I limited my account and today I deleted it. They cater to babies and whiners they don't allow for differing opinions well, unless it feeds their agenda. Go on another app, one that allows for differing opinions, not discrimination nobody needs that but if I don't agreed with a government you/i should be able to speak that truth.
If the Nextdoor moderators don't agree with what you say, it's deleted and you are put in Nextdoor. It is okay for certain people, left-leaning people, to make rude remarks and make fun of those they don't agree with no repercussions! I will never use this app again!
I have heard about Karen's on this site. Yep! This Karen objected to me adding a laughing emoji to her inaccurate over emotional rant. She messaged me and continued the rant. I responded and then blocked her. Note-I never threatened her. I challenged her lack of facts. Of course, she whined and I was the one suspended. I read through the guidelines. No, I did not nothing wrong. I appealed and they still insisted in suspending me. I can't wait until the suspension is up. The Karen is going down!
If there was a zero star review….
Do not trust the Nextdoor app as they do not monitor for scammers, animal trafficking from illegal backyard breeders and act on false reports that lock out legitimate users. Their staffing is terrible and customer service incompetent. My account was locked from someone making a false report. Be careful what you post as there are people using this app to get into your personal information. Ring is a far superior place for finding out important neighborhood posts regarding criminal activity and lost pets. Nextdoor is a ridiculous excuse of an attempt at social media.
Nextdoor fails to take into account that not all neighbors are friendly and safe. I question what the true endgame of Nextdoor is, as they refuse to allow you to only use first names. Recently, I was stalked and harassed by neighbors who think it is okay to racially profile and put up questionable, second hand stories about an incident involving another person from another site and the "supposed" men of a certain ethnicity that did not do anything to her, she just "felt" suspicious. It wasn't until I filed a formal complaint to Nextdoor that they took the post down. The point being that they do not monitor the content that is put up and leave the site open for people to post whatever they want. The creators of this app seem oblivious to the fact that we don't live in some utopian society where every single neighbor is as wholesome as The Andy Griffith Show and that we don't want to reveal our full identities to a possible crazed neighbor. There was a mob mentality forming on the particular post and the damage has already been done. They just open themselves up to lawsuits.
Most contacts that comes across if consecutive, will be taken down. Their moderation does little good. I have seen six to one to keep a comment or post up and nextdoor still take it down. One good way of getting kick off, just support Trump. In fact the name national politics from the main feed just because of it. It is ok to mention BLM but don't mention any white groups. If you do, plan on getting banned fo thirty days.
This platform is a good idea, but the way it's run stinks. I was kicked off because a rogue Lead & his buds shuts down political opposition by making mass email complaints. ND's robotic response is to kick out anyone complained about.
For a site that requires people to prove their identity through state issued ID's or utility bills you'd think they would be more professional. Look at the way they responded to my verification request.
My account was recently suspended when some local bigots decided to report me for using a nickname after I started pointing out their bigotry on multiple posts. I submitted the requested identification and the customer support has simply just been ignoring me, I opened up another account which was immediately unreachable after the beginning stages if setting it up. After reading a couple more of these negative experiences, I'm inclined to believe the site itself is being run and moderated by bigots as well.
Too bad Next Door is BIAS against conservatives.
When you silence what you dont agree with you manipulative others to hear and/or debate.
Next Door agenda is plain and simple "their political view or the highway."
Maybe the average middle class, hard working legal citizens will be able to get their information and other truths out through other avenues.
I think many will remember who allowed them to disclose information and who silenced them.
Amazing ND does not silence groups who burned and looted cities for one year but you talk about a President that cannot complete a sentence and you are shut down.
Fairness to hear 80 million citizens is not found on ND!
ND contributes to the division by silencing what they do not agree with.
How long will the silence go on?
Great in theory but not practice! Nextdoor is widely known as a social bullying cite with leads participating, a complete failure to bring a community together. Hate and name calling rampant, God help you if you disagree or have an opinion, your kicked cut off!
There is only 1 narrative allowed, period! Rules and guidelines are out the window and ND corporate looks he other way and do nothing! If you speak the truth, your account is disabled, only Nextdoor Matters, living nightmare!
NextDoor is completely two-faced about their policies. My father is an elderly retired veteran. He posted something several of the "woke" people on the site didn't like. One woman threatened him three times, including bashing his head in if he called the police about the threats. Another woman called him vile names, slandering him. He reported all the woman to NextDoor. Did any of them get suspended? No! My dad tried to quit the site and wanted his data deleted. NextDoor refuses because they say he is on suspension! Him, not the women! NextDoor violates your privacy by forcing you to use your real name and they even put a pin on Google Maps to show where your house is! Not only do they not punish violent threats, but they make it easy for the victim to be found. I am disgusted. If you are an elderly white male, you will be discriminated against on NextDoor. I have screenshots of everything in case I need to go to the police.
NextDoor routinely censors and suspends non-woke people.
Our local Nextdoor app has been overrun by right wing propaganda and conspiracy theory hounds, and they slam the site with ugly animal exploiting photos and flat earth arguments about everything going on with energy and the climate. If you question their logic, ask for evidence of their position, or request that they stick to the facts, you are vilified and summarily drummed off the site. Worst place in the world to go for anything.
I wrote a general post on the border situation that the Biden Administration doesn't want us to know about. They blocked video sound and then blocked me and said, I was being discriminatory and my account was suspended for 3 days. If you state anything that isn't sunshine, lollipops or rainbow on this sight (just like Facebook) or doesn't go with socialism or the liberal side of things you will be blocked.
After joining this group several months ago, my account was disabled for the following reason: "We disabled your Nextdoor account after we received a report that the name you are using "Imelda Egg" may not be your real name."
Obviously, the objection was raised because of my last name. I was asked to 'prove my identity' by submitting copies of my passport or my drivers license. Does that mean that anyone with a last name such as $#*!... Hamburger... Bacon... and Egg must prove they are not fake? Extremely insulting and discriminating.
I guess this has been going on for a while, makes sense why i am in nextdoor jail just for expressing myself... i guess i cant express anything or say anything without someone getting offended ( by the way i just reported someone parked and blocking my garage) and someone must had not like it because they probably don't even know what in the world is going on and they thought i was being abusive to the person. Don't use it im sure you won't need this app at all.
Nextdoor is a great way to stay informed of happenings in your area. You can plan community events such as Christmas Light Shows Independence Day Parades. Put the word out about external groups or your Church activity and invite the whole neighborhood. It's a great place for recommendations for handyman services or almost anything you can think of. Buy and sell to your neighbors. Look for a missing pet or tell everyone you have a stray. Most of all it builds a sense of community. I say that is the best part of Nextdoor.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
