I hired this company 3 months prior to my trip to take 7 people to and from the Airport. The ride to the airport was ok, not great but ok. The return flight on the other hand was unbelievable. The company abandoned all 7 of us at the airport at 3AM. Our flight got delayed mid flight do to a storm that hit the airport and we where put in a holding pattern by the Airport. When we finally landed the Limo company I had hired Minuteman II was contacted and they stated we were on own, they had no one that could pick us up. I was beside myself, I hired a company that touted they treat you like family and there always there to get stranded in Newark at 3AM with 7 people with luggage and try to find rides home for everyone. Thanks for nothing Minuteman Limousine, I will never use your company again and I hope no one else uses you. They do not stand behind there word.
May as well be CCP. They were created for the purpose of "Organizing". Comments are invited as long as they agree with their agenda. They encourage neighbors to point out racists and biggots, to be determined by them. Check out their top-billed Post in the Groups section.
NextDoor is a horrible social media platform. It does not screen its moderators for bias. And does nothing when any bias is reported. The moderators use a double standard when looking for excuses to remove a post or block a user. NextDoor allows one side to post whatever it wants while unfairly censoring opposing positions and information. It is a horrible, horrible platform.
Since moving here, Nextdoor has helped me learn about the area I now live in: the neighborhoods; friendly and helpful neighbors; as well as useful recommendations; getting the word out on lost pets; and a heads up on crime in the area. All conveniently in one spot!
It is a good way to keep in touch with neighbors but as with all social media it's hard to filter out those bad seeds. Being able to report about those bad seeds is a great way to keep the site going in a positive direction.
Offering a customer's business page to another business owner does not look good for nextdoor.com. Is that what this company does offers a chance to sabotage your business by giving someone else access to your page.
ND is a forum for bullies and complainers. Don't agrivate yourself and don't sign up.
Individuals who under the radar, bully and complain about neighbors continually defeats the purpose of a "friendly" neighborhood post. Yuk!'
I needed home repair work done and i used nextdoor so i could get a local contractor to do it. I was happy with the work. I also use it to learn about local events i'd like to go to. It's easy to use.
I find the nextdoor experience helpful but naturally some use it and abuse it. I don't want to know your political leanings or your skills. I want to know recommendations and activities in my neighborhood to expand my abilities to be more active.
I signed up thinking i could use it as a tool to look at upcoming local events. Ummm... Wrong! I live in a town where a bunch of subdivisions are around and it ended up being worse than facebook. People posting complaints, opinions, and uneducated arumentative statements about thier neighbors. It was like a live version of Young and the Restless!
I and many others have been booted off our local Nextdoor because we supported candidates for election to our HOA's Board of Directors. A few who did not support our views, reported our posts on Nextdoor and we were booted off. Nextdoor policy stinks!
I own a business in the Tahoe Park area in Sacramento and most of the reviews and comments that people leave on Nextdoor are really hateful. A Man named Matthew DeVerioux (Colonial Manor) wrote three very hateful post about me and my store and how he was half owner of my coffee shop plaster fake information about me, and then I found out who my real people are. It's ok if you don't like me... I am very ok with that, but I don't post about your life and if I did it would be the truth...
And for that and Nextdoor letting this go on and on and telling me three weeks ago is to long ago to remove it? Ok what about the three days ago or the few hours ago? When will it end? And why does Matthew? Get to use a fake name? That is not his real name>>> (Matthew DeVerioux)
I read the updates daily for my neighborhood. Sometimes the names of the neighborhood areas are confusing as to location. Otherwise like this as a resource for local news/concerns/safety/items for sale.
I enjoy the recommendation section and also the sale section. I do not like some of the inane posts about suspicious looking cars a d people. I am tired of reading about people should call the police for a car in the neighborhood. I am tired of people trying to be silly! I basically like Nextdoor.
There is a person in the neighborhood who has been ticketed for illegally trapping cats and disposing of them who knows where. This person trapped their neighbors pet cat, was informed that the cat was a domestic pet, and the cat is now missing along with all the free roaming cats in that neighborhood. The cat trapper admitted their actions to the police and a police case has been filed.
As neighbors, we are all obviously concerned; we remember the Cambrian Cat Killer http://www.newsweek.com/san-jose-cats-******* all too well. Yet, as the neighborhood rallied to try to find the missing cat who was a service animal to an autistic little girl, Nextdoor saw fit to not only ban the woman whose cat is missing but also delete every single thread related to helping canvass and find the cat.
Joining together to FIND the cat was how I was expecting to use Nextdoor. Watching people get banned for stating facts and matters of public record is NOT.
I cannot recommend this app.
Cancel. Cancel. Cancel... A big waste of time! Deleted a post of mine without any response as to why. A website such as this should not even call it a business they are only looking out for their personal interests only! Do not subscribe..."Nextdoor" is a waste of your time!
If I could give it less than 1 star I would. I posted an article recently that I found on Facebook on to ND. It was removed because of controversial issues according to ND. It was posted properly in the National and State forum. It was about how Americans are being gaslighted. Since it was not left enough for ND they removed it. I was suspended for 30 days a couple of months ago for similar reasons. Also if you speak the truth ND will, apparently, remove your post if it is reported. They would rather perpetuate lies than promote the truth. I have had several posts removed for the same reasons.
If it is not Left or Lies don't post it. If someone complains it's gone!
(Interestingly, Facebook where I got my post from is the parent company of ND. ND rejects while FB lets it stay. Looks like ND really really likes Zuckerberg's boot print thats planted right between ND eyes!
I bought my grill Easter weekend April 2021. I do have a grill cover, but. Bbq one day in May it rain right after we Bbq, the grill was to hot to put the cover back on it. After one rain my grill look like I had it for years. The grills that I have had for years looks better then my 3 month old grill. I paid $162 for a grill that I have been wanting for years and I finally got one and was so so so so disappointed in it. The want to send me the side grill to replace the one that got messed up, so that means I have to pay someone to fix it for me. So that means I paid $200 for my dream grill that I paid $140 + taxes that came up to $162 + $40 for someone to fix it. Between this company & Home Depot that are not worth crap because Home Depot put it together now it's falling apart. I am soooooo angry about my dream grill. I tell you one thing I will never in life buy your product. I tried post my pic of my grill but they want let me
I am very happy with my individual account and seeing what is going on currently and who has what it looking for what. I am all about helping the community. I love how broad or how narrow you can make your area.
But for a self employed person who is looking for word of mouth business this app sucks. You are constantly attacked to not post it on your individual account and to open a business account. I opened a business account after I was yelled at enough and have yet to have one person respond to that account in 6 months. But when I posted on my individual account I had many responses. Also I have never looked anything up in the business accounts. I look for the individual who is trying to make a go of it.
This is a free app. If people don't want to see info visuals looking for clientele then they shouldn't be on here or there needs to be a charge to restrict those type of postings.
I do not recommend this app to anyone who wants to earn a buck.
This organization has tremendous potential but not the way it is being run now. Paula emails me telling me that I am not following the guidelines, but then can't tell me what guideline I am not following. Now I am on "read only".
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
