The site is highly biased to the Left. As a moderator I see time and time again where Right leaning members are put into Nextdoor jail while Left leaning messages and members face no consequences
I'm always seeing hateful old ignorant people going on tirades against everyone, responding to every comment with an insult and yet; nothing happens. They allow MLMs to misrepresent their products and businesses, and scammers are rampant.
It's just a bunch of Karens whining about dog poop, asking for a Doctor recommendation, or posting pics of some random car convinced they're out to kill everyone.
It takes a special kind of person to tolerate this trash heap of unhinged.
They suspended my account because of some idiot who believes anything he says is right and anything anyone else says is wrong. So I told this idiot he's not that nice. This site is hateful and permanently deleted from my life.
This website is for people to just talk trash about others apparently. They want to kick people when they're down and they have no life of their own obviously they want to get in everybody else's business. It's just a gossip website
I have been consistently harassed and bullied since March 2023 by lead/moderator Melody E.after I asked why another member was disabled as it appeared to be biased She attacked me and then accused me of attacking her. I have been consistently reported and disabled now permanently. All the complaints go to her and when it moves to support she's volunteer she even bullies and threatens other leads and still gets away with it. How can we stop leads/moderators of Nextdoor from abusing others? I have in writing from another lead that she has been unfairly targeting me and others, but she continually gets away with it. We need to put it stop to it and receive compensation for the harm it caused. I have a lot of support documentation as proof of harassment/bullying of the lead, not following the guidelines, yet punishing me for reasons not against the guidelines. This is happening to a lot of members, class action suit?
The only thing that makes this app and social media site remotely useful is connecting to neighbors via sub groups that are set up outside of the normal site. Since next-door has partnered with GoFundMe, it's become really annoying, trying to decipher which GoFundMe are actually legitimate, and which are scams. Note most of them are scams because no one vets anybody. They just let them on the site. On top of that there is this constant nanny state where admin pull comments simply for saying common sense things. Very woke. If it wasn't for the subgroups, I wouldn't even bother. It's very toxic.
There is no way I can recommend this absolutely horrible app in good faith to my fellow man.
This site is so corrupt and biased, and ran so poorly. It's shameful and embarrassing for this corporation.
It's a shame, because the site could have a good premise. But unfortunately, the corporation, CEO, and minions Destroyed this site- for Possibly being a decent helpful neighborly site.
The moderators, leads, and customer support team are completely juvenile, and vindictive, Along with not following the company guidelines.
When you are active on the site, everybody tattles on everybody for trigger words and comments. It's Extremely childish.
The moderators and leads do not adhere to the company policy guidelines, but intern they pick and choose what they feel is incorrect lingo by their feelings; Not by the company guidelines!
When you write the company to report an issue, such as a poor moderators and a vindictive leads. You will either be ignored, Receive an incompetent representative, who Clearly does not read your complaint, nor cares, and just writes back with a bunch of misinformation, or they will deactivate your account for being difficult Because you wish to accuse a fellow team member. Hence the word, vindictive.
This company prides itself on being neighborly, kind, nondiscriminatory, non-bulling, and racist. But yet they are all the above.
Who wants to be on a site that behaves like teenagers? I sure don't.
Do yourself a favor before you join this app.
Do your own research.
Start with the Better Business Bureau. 99% one star reviews with the same complaint I am writing above. There are also other review sites that are exactly the same.
If that is not enough evidence for you not to join this toxic site, then I don't know what to tell you.
And to end; The site does nothing regarding assisting the fellow neighbor, other than the occasional lost dog or lost cat. It really is a waste of time.
Anytime I say anything right leaning, comment positively about Trump, or negatively about Biden, I get put in time out for anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks. I can't say Brandon, but others can use names like Orange Man, etc. When I flag it, it stays up. Even when I put comments like that in the Politics for All group, this happens every time. They will misconstrue anything you post to say it's discriminating, biased, hate speech, anything at all to kick you off! It's run by a bunch of young no-nothings in SF who all support the radical left. Even if I comment on someone's post, they will lock me out, but not the original poster! This country is going down the tubes, and this site won't let you intelligently discuss it. I tried several times to post something about the film, "2000 Mules". There must be an algorithm that won't even let it post. I had to write in code...the movie about donkeys, etc. I was told Nextdoor thinks it's disinformation. All I was saying was watch it for yourself and see if it doesn't at least raise some questions in your mind. I think I'm now on their radar, and I get locked out all the time now. I urge everyone who leans right, just get off of it. Less users, less advertising money, they will go under.
People post all the time in "politics for all" things derogatory about Trump...orange man, orange god, etc. When someone even mentions "Brandon" it is immediately taken down. You can't even mention the film "2000 Mules". Apparently there is an algorithm that won't let you post anything about that. Nextdoor is a very left leaning site run by young brainwashed lefties in San Francisco, and if they don't like what you say, they disable your account. I got disabled just for responding to a post, pointing out that what was posted was not true. You can't discuss Rand Paul's Festivus Report about waste in the Federal budget, not even in the politics for all forum. They say it's misinformation, and it's taken down. There is something very sinister going on in this country when you cannot discuss these topics. You should be able to discuss 2000 mules and voter fraud, but you are not allowed to, it's labeled disinformation. Why? Because these lefties running the site know nothing, and don't want to open their eyes and see what is going on! I encourage everyone who is even the least bit right leaning to get off the site. They need advertisers to survive, and if not many are on there, they'll lose money, as well they should!
They will shut you down if you say anything they don't agree with. If you say something about Covid, elections, Government and they don't like it, they call is "misinformation" and take it down, even when you post a link to validate what you post. There is a lot of information and tools about white privilege and racism on the homepage and it's nonsense. Ask yourself...if this country is so racist, why is the Gov. Letting people of color swarm into our country? You would think they would be telling the world, no, no, go back, you don't want to come to this racist place where you will never get ahead! Both cannot be true! It's race baiting. They have an essay on the site, https://nationalseedproject.org/Key-SEED-Texts/white-privilege-unpacking-the-invisible-knapsack written in 1989 full of BS. Racial relations and opportunity have come a long way even since then, but for these lefties, it's never enough, and all the blame goes to white skin color. I encourage everyone to just get off the site and stop empowering these race baiting people.
They remove your posts on a whim from their army of Adolescent moderators including your For Sale Posts...They also protect Criminals and Jeopardize the safety of their users by removing posts from their users that point out neighborhood community crimes...They then in turn remove any posts critical of criminal behavior and then restrict the accounts of those that posted because Nextdoor stats that anyone posting about crime or theft in their posts are guilty of public shaming...like shaming criminals is a bad thing...These people that run Nextdoor are a bunch of insane Liberals is San Francisco, so this policy of theirs should surprise no one. DO NOT USE Nextdoor.
Humor, sarcasm, pointing out logical fallacies or even how the law appropriate to a situation actually applies are all censored. It's a wonder they dont bleed out thru their pores with skin so thin.
Nextdoor is more like a gofundme page not a neighbor help neighbor and a leftest platform.
They will eliminate anyone who doesn't agree with there platform without a fair discussion, a guilty and no chance to prove your point.
So l am a handicap vet of 2 branches of the military, The Army and Airforce and a cop of 26 years. So this Karen came on to my post and attacked me so I logically defended myself. I didn't use profanity or insult, I followed the guidelines of their policy and I won the argument. So she didn't like that and she reported me! If she didn't like it she could have gone to an another post and not read mine! I'm going to the Supreme Court, the BBB and the World Trade Commission for this one! What happened to freedom of speech and expression! I'm going to report this!
Commented on a post for someone asking for gofundme donations to help Bury a family member. Seeking $5000 to cover burial costs. I suggested looking into creamation since it's costs are much much less than traditional burial cost. My post was deleted with no explanation. Is Putin in charge of the administrators cause it sure seems they are power oriented.
Next door does a poor job. Moderating their message board. They have too many ads. There's too many personal attacks and political bickering. Other than that it's great, or it could be.
They don't enforce their own rules except for when it's convenient for them.
It's supposed to be a place where neighbors can get together to discuss local issues of their neighborhood. In the old days, neighbors used to do that face to face. Same thing here, but online. Great idea.
It's a great place to post and find lost and found animals. It's really annoying seeing all the GoFundMe posts. The personal attacks and political bitterness is annoying.
The structure of the site is confusing.
The search function does not bring back good results. Software needs to be updated IMO.
I feel like this was, is, and could be, a really great and informative site. But until they make some changes with all the personal attacks and political BS, it kind of sucks.
They make it impossible to cancel. They conceal the monthly charge to advertise will be recurring on your credit card. Contact customer service and expect to wait a long time for an unhelpful response.
Terrible toxic place. Hate Nextdoor. Leads will use their little bit of power to remove opinions but let fake go funds me stay up.
My experience is that it's just a group of complainers who like to $#*! and talk about local/state issues but have no incentive to do anything but complain. They don't take action in writing to their local representatives or even voting for government officials. They just like to complain and bully people who don't agree with them.
They banned our nextdoor account just because we encourage our neighbors through Bible scriptures. Many neighbors loved our post, and they obviously saw that. Someone in leadership dropped the ball on deleting our account, and whoever made this decision shouldn't be ashamed of someone who is clearly on our USA DOLLAR BILL "IN GOD WE TRUST" the person who deleted us, is the one who has harassed, and moved in discriminating ways towards us and our household. We are disgusted and hurt indeed! (Military family)
SOOOOO WHATS THE PROBLEM AGAIN?
The site is full of people who openly lie. The moderators often side with the people who lie, and the moderators throttle speech when someone calls them out. There is also a lot of trolling that the moderators will not remove. One of the worst social media sites I've used, and that's saying a lot.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
When neighbors start talking, good things happen.
