Two weeks ago I ordered an expensive rotary tool for my small jewelry business (and some other small items i need). I was heart broken when i opened the box. One of the critical sections of the tool broke during the shipment and I'm on a tight deadline with a client. I am beyond disappointed at this time, this is not the first time I ship items in the Philippines and if there's one thing i learned from my past experience, is that... filling for claims on lost or damage item will wear you down until you finally give up.
My experience with MyUS was very different. I may have been very frustrated with my conversations with the reps but looking back... my conversations were far better than any companies i've dealt with before. I was finally talking to humans! I would like to mention my gratitude to Roderick who worked with me to get this all sorted out. We need people like him answering customers concerns.
Finally the replacement parts are on the way to my doorstep and I'm looking forward doing more business with MyUS.

Answer: Micaela, it all depends on the rules in Peru. I'm a MyUS customer and one of the reasons I like their service is because they give me a discount on the shipping cost, each time. There's an option in your shipping settings where you can select 'label as gift', usually customs aren't charged on gift items. Maybe you should try that once. Works for me all the time. I hope someone from MyUS will respond to your question and give you a more satisfying answer. All the best.
