I wrote to Heritage as I had 2 family trees and asked them to delete the one as it was a duplicate. I received immediate assistance from Adina and my request was promptly attended to. It is rare to receive such prompt and efficient service. Thank you Heritage and Adina - Nikki Fourie, South Africa
My DNA kit was a total joke, different from 23andme and Gedmatch. My family is colonial America on the Mayflower, Spanish, Native American, British/ Irish and French Canadian. My results are totally different from 23andme and GED match. Usually get DNA from North Africa or Israel/area near there or East Asia. Instead got Scandinavian 45.1%. On myhertitage and 1.9% 23andme, and GEDmatch has Fennoscandian 15.9%. Dark hair, hazel eyes, short/small, no back hair, big lips, and high check bones, not a description of a Scandinavian.
Today I had a lot of questions for different areas, and met Talia Sofie who spoke my own language. She was listening patiently, and gave me a lot of good information included experience from her own family tree building. The questions she qould not answer will be investigated and answered in a few days. She was very polite, and helpfull even if most questions were not "her department". Very good+++! :o)
I have bought 5 DNA kits from My Heritage and have had several inquiries regarding how their product and site works. Their customer service and genuine assistance is of a very high standard, thank you My Heritage!
I know my familys history back to the 1800s. My father is Sardinian back as far as they can remember; my husbands family is half English/Scottish and half Icelandic/English. The results had no British, no Sardinian, no Icelandic, and a little Native American thrown in, which is impossible. Not sure how the algorithms are supposed to work, but they didnt for me. Waste of money.
Hello,
Yesterday I encountered a problem with your site.
Today I turned to "myheritage" by telephone to clarify the issue and received a response from me.
I wanted to thank Ziv S. For a quick and reassuring treatment of the subject I was worried about.
Ziv, gave an outstanding service - he is highly acclaimed!
I want you to pass those words to him and to his superiors.
Thanks and a wonderful week.

I called My Heritage today and talked with the Most Pleasant Young Irish man. He helped me find out my issue and I was honored that he could tell me I also was Irish. The site is a wonderfully easy site to use and the customer support if very patient and friendly
I purchased a My Heritage DNA kit and was told after the purchase that I had to wait at least 12 working days to receive my kit, that equates to around 3 weeks. I have since found out that I will have to send my DNA kit back to the USA for processing. Another 3 weeks in transit. A total of around 6 weeks transit. I wish that I had been informed of the delivery times before I purchased the DNA kit. A friend purchased a Ancestry DNA kit and it was delivered from Australia within 4 days and sent back to the lab in Australia for processing. I should of purchased the Ancestry DNA kit and avoided at least 6 weeks transit time. DHL didn't want to help as they told me to contact My Heritage. A very bad experience so far.
Dear Owen,
Standard shipping takes indeed approximately 12 business days. The shipping of the DNA samples to the lab can be done via regular mail or courier. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly, with your account ID number or registered MyHeritage email address to john.vipsupport@myheritage.com and I will assist you with high priority.
Kind Regards,
John

I wanted to install FTB on my Mac to be able to work on my famility tree offline. My first attempt failed and I contacted support. I got excellent support and after a few iterations it became obvious that the main problems was the setup of my Mac with storage of the Document folder was on a cloud service. Fixing this everthing was fine. It would have been nice with error messages pointing in this direction during installation
We were informed that my mothers test had reached the lab but have not had any results sent to us and this was serval months ago. We have tried to contact my Heritage to inform them that we are still waiting but it is impossible to get through to them, no way of contacting them at all. We have had several of my friends trying to find a way of contacting them but zero, zip diddly no way of contacting them to inform them of the missing results, Shocking! We accept that things go wrong sometimes but not to have anyway of contacting a company that was happy to take our money is dreadful. Hoping they will see this and contact us. I can't upload an image as I don't know how to shrink it so once again scuppered! Our activation code was MHT776Y7 lets see if they can be bothered to message
Hello Alison,
We are sorry to read that you have not yet received any news about your mother's DNA kit results.
Having provided the activation code, I was able to locate the account and it would appear that the kit has been matched and the results are ready to be viewed.
I have now resent to you an email sent quite a few days ago about it. Please take a look to see if you received that email and if not then please write to me from your registered email address to Dean.vipsupport@myheritage.com and I will gladly assist you.
Kind Regards,
Dean,

Dreadful Experience of this Organisation!
Sept 2015
I am getting the run around from the support team at MyHheritage. I upgraded my subscription to 'Premium Plus' which was advertised as a monthly fee but paid annually! After using it, with difficulty for a few days, I realized that there is very little Irish data available! Since my ancesters were Irish, I decided to ask to have my account and subscription cancelled and money credited to my credit card.
After a number of emails with the support team, dealing with issues I was having and finally asking to have my account closed, I received an email this morning, indicating that they cannot delete my account since I have an active subscription. Even though I asked to have my subscription cancelled! Where is the customer service?
I feel, at this stage that I have been scammed and my money is gone!
I found a contact phone number and they agreed to cancel my account and they have provided me with a full refund!
I did use this service for a week or so and although there weren't records for all the people I was searching, I did find some very interesting lines.
I had signed up for the 14 day free trial period. Unfortunately, i tried to cancel my membership before the 14 day period was over because i couldn't find records on all the people i had searched, and the cancellation didn't work. I tried a second time and again, I was unsuccessful. This resulted in me being charged for a years subscription when I was trying to cancel prior to being charged. I tried to cancel three times after being charged the fee and I was eventually successful. Luckily, the people at MyHeritage were understanding of my situation and refunded the entire fee, which i thank them for.
Therefore, for the service they provide and their understanding I give them 4 stars. -1 because I couldn't find records on all the people I searched.
I purchased a DNA kit as a birthday present for a friend, unbeknown to me, I was automatically enrolled into one month's free trail. The first email I received from MyH, apart from the conformation of the DNA purchase, was when the free trial ended and the same day they took £114 annual fee from my paypal account.
The free trial had never been accessed, and therefore I thought this error could be rectified. I was told by MyH that the DNA kit was reduced to £43 when registering for the free trial. I explained that I was unaware of this, that I had no use for the service of their website. They were uninterested in this explanation and did not give me a refund. They did, however, credit my paypal account with £40 and told me that I would be able to access their website for the next year. I feel that I have been somewhat duped into this annual fee, something I do not want and will not use and something I feel a genuine company would not do…

NOT ACCURATE FOR KOREANS.
I know for a fact that I am half south korean, going back at least four generations.
The result for Korean doesn't even show because they "don't have any previous Korean DNA in their lab", instead they represent it with "Chinese/Vietnamese" and "Japanese" even though I have no relatives of that ethnicity.
Yes, it is likely that I have some ancestors that intermingled over the last 2000 years, however, this completely diminishes the accuracy of my results. I wonder how many other ethnic groups I may belong to that are not shown because of this company.
On top of that, the results are incredibly general and do not go into detail besides telling you the gist of the culture. Doesn't say how far back either.
Hi Hana,
I’m sorry to read about your disappointment with your DNA results and I’d like to have our DNA Team follow up on this with you directly. Please send me your account ID from your registered email address at elena.vipsupport@myheritage.com and I’ll be happy to escalate it for you.

When GENI was bought? By MyHeritage I, as Pro Geni user with a guaranteed life time membership was promised that I'll have the same membership privilege with MyHeritage.
This promised was kept until recently but know, when I want to open a Profile I get a request to subscribe!
I've put my whole family tree of over 9900 people on MyHeritage and if they don't keep their promise to us I will delete everything!
I am sorry to read you low star review and would like to resolve any issues you may be having. Feel free to email me with your account ID or registered email address to john.vipsupport@myheritage.com Thank you.
Kind Regards,
John,

It would be nice to be able to access and view specific records, i.e. Birth Records, etc.
Hi DEAN at MYHERTIAGE
I am still awaiting my dna results the latest deadline for my results says 21st March 2017. Is there a problem you need to tell the public. Why are our results not ready on time. And after reading the rest of the reviews I am now getting worried I may not get results. Pauline H
I ordered a kit and it didn't get to the proper address so was returned. I contacted them and they said they would send another. After I realized it was sent out and the zip code on the new addresss wasn't complete I again contacted them. They sent another out and I finally got the test. I worked with Odran and he was wonderful about keeping in touch with me and following thru with what I had asked for. I am ordering more kits for more family members and have read reviews with 5 stars from others. We look forward to results about our heritage soon! Thank You. I liked the quick response from Odran on solving a problem I had.
I am trying MyHeritage for a year to see if i helps with my research. So far, it has in spades. My wife's ancestry is Polish, and while I am satisfied with my own (American/German), being able to find a large number of Poles working on her family has been a Godsend. I do wish that printing a register style report was possible, and their support said that they would pass along that request.
The charts that are create-able seem to be well done, although I do see some small aberrations. But again. The customer service has helpfully told me how to solve these concerns. Just like with Ancestry et al, you might not be able to download a GEDCOM to avoid a lot of rekeying, but that appears to be a choice of the uploader and not MH. I have had MH for about a month now and have been satisfied that I have gotten what I paid for.
Waiting results dna nothing to report on this checking my dna yet
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan and fellow users, In regards to the FTB not working, I may have found a solution, please follow these directions. Please right click on the FTB icon on your desktop, and click on 'Properties': Once you have opened the 'Properties' menu then click on the 'Compatibility' tab: If the field "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" is checked, and it says below "Windows 7", uncheck the box. Please let me know if this has solved the issue. Should this not work for you then please get in touch with the support team at support@myheritage.com from your registered MyHeritage email address and a friendly representative will help you at the first available moment. Kind Regards, Dean, MyHeritage Team.

Dear Mary,
I'm sorry to read your low star review.
I'd like to clarify the current ethnicity estimate doesn't necessarily mean that you do not have British, Sardinian, Icelandic, or even Native American heritage.
For your information, the percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors at the level of grandparents and further back (Great-grandparents, etc.) are not necessarily divided evenly in each generation. You indeed inherit 50 % of the DNA from your mother, and 50 % from your father. However, segments are inherited randomly. On that note, when parents conceive a child their DNA goes through recombination. You can imagine that the mother's code looks like AAAA and the father's code looks like XXXX. Now the child may receive the code AXAX and it so happens to be that AXAX is another segment that may code for another ethnicity.
Moreover, if you have ancestors of a specific ethnicity it could be of such a low amount that the ethnicity estimate could not find a percentage from our references. To estimate your ancestral ethnicity, MyHeritage compares your DNA with the DNA of living people around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. We call these people the Founder Populations. This study is currently ongoing and new references will be applied to your DNA as long as you have it uploaded at MYHeritage in the future.
With regards to DNA in it is indeed found that people within surrounding countries in Europe share common DNA for various reasons such as people moving around frequently and official borders and communities being occupied. Please keep in mind that it is difficult to build a distinct profile for Great Britain and Scandinavian countries, as those are admixed with Western European DNA. As you may know, Anglo-Saxon people settled the British Isles, and they were comprised of Germanic tribes. Therefore we keep the current version of our estimate on a higher regional level.
The same applies to Native American DNA. Though you might have Native American DNA, it might belong to a tribe that is not part of the sampling used to build our Ethnicity Estimate. There are more than 500 recognized tribes which are ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse. However, the majority of these tribes have not contributed their DNA for research purposes which would allow science to establish better ethnicity models. Therefore, the fact that we did not find Native American DNA in your sample does not mean that you are not Native American. Therefore, If your Native American ethnicity does not appear in the Ethnicity Estimate, you might also consider testing one of your parents or grandparents as it is more likely that Native American DNA will be traced in the generations closer to the Native American ancestor.
Most importantly, I'd like to inform you that the progress of your DNA research and your overall satisfaction is extremely important to us. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com so I may assist you with high priority.
Sincerely
Rafael
