I have used MyHeritage for several years. I like the screen view of our tree and the hints that pop up. I do have an issue with tracing and sorting out duplicates within the tree. It's a bit of a pain that so many window tabs open during a session. I like that I can colour code direct ancestors/descendants. There is a good range of reports that can be produced. The photo repair/animate features are great. I'd like to be able to export GEDCOM directly from MH.

I have been using MyHeritage for many years since I first initially started a tree in Geni and then switched over. I also use MyHeritage Family Tree Builder which syncs with the main website and they update each other when doing so, however just the main site and adding Discoveries it finds can add duplicates to the tree with similar but incomplete information depending on which source the Discovery is getting it's information from. If from other people's family trees that are not fact checked against official census, birth or death or marriage and immigration records you can add individuals that are already in your Family Tree Builder but are not recognized by the main website tree.
I now do all of my work in MyHeritage Family Tree Builder and when I get a notification from the main website double-check to see if some of the possible new people I could add are already in my tree. Discoveries have been useful to add new information and in many cases additional marriages of ancestors as when a spouse passed away it did not take many of them long to remarry and blended families were the result of his, her and our children which can then be checked against official records.
The other area that could be improved is a better way to contact people with incorrect family trees when receiving a DNA match Theory of Relativity. I have many cases of having a grandfather in someone else's tree actually being an uncle or cousin in my tree, so there may be a DNA connection but it's the wrong person. It would be nice when rejecting the connection in the other person's tree if an option could be given to easily contact the tree manager to explain the rejection and offer them the correct information resulting in more accurate Theories being offered.
There are many new innovations being offered which are cool but these tree building improvements would make it even better.
For the most part, I've been able to check their suggestions for adding additional family members and it has increased the different lines I've been working on.

I do not like the auto addition of too many distant relatives without individual review. I do like much better access to European sources. I saw a big mistake of showing a couple as married. Elina Wilhelmina Johansson. I found in household record she was listed with two children. Margreta Johansson born 19 Dec 1897 was listed beow as a seperate person. Sorry I do not remember the Hfl where I saw that but a relative took the hint you gave and belived it. I hope you can fix this.

Tien jaar heeft mijzelf reeds vele ancestors/voorouders inzake de "warme kant" opgeleverd met MyHeritage. MyHeritage heeft een trucendoos, die ik niet in haar geheel gebruik. Zelfleren is een betere methode om hier kennis van te nemen.
Ik ben in hoofdzaak druk met relevante informatie, waaronder bijvoorbeeld 'matches', in mijn systeem op te slaan, te ordenen en te bewaren. Een monnikenarbeid die ik exact en zorgvukdig duidelijk probeer. Het is dus niet lukraak info assembleren en opbergen.
MyHeritage is in die tien jaar doorontwikkeld en familieverwantschappen aangaande mijn echtgenote heeft hetonderzoek naar aantallen treffers 'verdubbeld'. Ook DNA heeft een meerwaarde waar ik probeer kennis van te nemen.
Dit alles en ook MyHeritage leermomenten om door te nemen boeien en houden mij scherp.

I've used My Heritage for about three years and have had a lot of success in building my family tree and finding information and matching information on my ancestors. I like that they add more data periodically. I have also done the DNA tests from My Heritage and found a few cousins I didn't know about. I don't really pay much attention to matches that come back with the really low percentage of accuracy, so I haven't dug into those.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
