I was lured with great promises that they could get the lost money back. Even when asked whether this works in Germany, the answer was yes.
That was a lie. Nothing, absolutely nothing was reimbursed by the bank. I won't be the only one who hasn't got my money back.
It doesn't seem to work in Germany!
Uli: As a matter of policy, we only take on cases that meet the chargeback criteria established by the credit card companies themselves. But because the ultimate decision whether to grant a full chargeback is solely up to the bank (and not us and not the credit card companies), we do not guarantee recovery. Therefore, our onboarding agents explain this to each client, and it is also mentioned very clearly in your contract.
While don't promise a full recovery, we do promise 100% effort to maximize the chances that the bank will accept a full chargeback, which we obviously did in your case. We even followed up on the bank's decision by directing your appeal to the German regulator, which unfortunately upheld the bank's decision.
Nonetheless, we strongly believe that the bank erred in your case and that you did not receive the quality of service from your bank that you deserved.

The call came from a number from New York. I'm in Toronto. I was unable to reach the phone in time (it rang twice on my end). I do have private voice mail on my phone but no message was left by the caller. I tried to return the call at the number the call came from and got a strange message about "insufficient funds". I checked online for another number and was able to call a directory service, who thought that since it was only a short time since the appointment schedule I would likely get a quick return call. I waited beside the phone but no call was received. I called back to the directory service again. This time I was told I would probably get a call back between (I think) 24 and 48 hours. I will be paying for these "long distance" calls from the US as my phone service is free for any calls in Canada but not international. The one star rating is not because the experience with "MyChargeBack" was bad it is because it didn't happen.

MyChargeBack: A website that promises wonders but a low-end service that is limited to provide you a standard letter for your bank, a "Cyber Intelligence Report" without interest and nothing exploitable whose writing takes more than four months and at the end of the process the proposal to transmit the file to an exotic and unknown law firm in an unusual location. Conclusion: An unnecessary and sterile expense and false hopes!
We thank Claude for identifying himself to us, which allowed us to review his complete file. We found that he was provided with all of the services specified in our Statement of Work, which he signed. Specifically, these services were a bank wire recall and a Cyber Intelligence Report. We sense, however, that Claude misunderstood the purpose of our Cyber Intelligence Report. It is not a recovery service. It is a compilation of research that identifies the individuals who own and run the beneficiary firm. The information it contains is indeed useful because it can assist attorneys in proving to the regulator and/or ombudsman that the bank was negligent in agreeing to wire money to beneficiaries engaged in illegal financial activities in the event the client's bank refuses to grant a recall. If that can be proven, the regulator and/or ombudsman will be held liable for Claude's loss and ordered to refund him. Indeed, his bank ultimately refused to approve the recall and refund the money he wired to the merchant because no funds remained in the merchant's account. We did not accept that as a valid excuse for the bank not to reimburse him. For that reason, we requested Claude's permission to transfer his case -- without any additional cost -- to a EU law firm that specializes in cybercrime in order to appeal the bank's decision to the relevant regulator and/or ombudsman. While the law firm may be "unknown" to Claude and "in an unusual location," it is known to and respected by the EU banking regulators whose decisions will determine the final disposition of cases such as this one. Regrettably, Claude has yet to agree to proceed. We urge him to reconsider his refusal to move his case to the attorneys, since he is only punishing himself by not doing so.
