I was just kicked off Mercari a few minutes ago.
Did I do anything wrong?
NO!
Almost 500 sale's all but 8 were 5 star rated AND the ones that were not blamed me for slow mail Trump created our did not read ther listing and was buyers remorse.
I ALSO had over 400 followers.
You would think having a tipp rated seller is a good thing. Not on Mercari.

I am anything but a fan of Ebay, horrific for sellers and great for scammers, but the people here are beyond stupid.

I get an email at 10pm on X-Mas eve demanding proof and sales slips off the items I am selling.
Must be provided in 72 hours.

As I write this, it is 36 hours and already booted.

I sell sports collectibles AND have been for 37 years.
Never once have I been asked for such a thing. Other than sales for taxes, but they clearly fell they are above the power of the IRS!
Most items (99.9%) are 20 years old to over 100 years old.
So no I don't have original sales slips on most items.
They know NOTHING about this type of product line and as many people here have said, they just reply with a generic messages that has nothing to do with the issue.

I am sure by the names, none of these people are USA based. All seem to be in Europe by the names I see (first only).
To come out of nowhere, with this demand and in Christmas Eve no less AND them boot me in 1/2 the time asked for is complete BS.

Sellers beware! They will side with uncanny buyers all the time. Sold an Brand New Item, Buyer filed a return 3 days later and what I got back was a different item that was completely shredded. They will only accept pictures from the buyer and not from the seller. I was scammed from a buyer with no history and nothing could be done about it.

STAY AWAY FROM MERCARI IF YOU ARE SELLER! SCAM!

My wife bought a computer monitor for me. It was received yesterday 7/19/2021 and was defective. This was found out after my wife left the seller a positive feedback. Yes I know it was a mistake to have left it before we plug it in. But it was done. This morning we got a message back from the seller. This was in response to a message sent to them yesterday. They wrote "LOL contact Mercari". What does that tell you. Not even the seller's are worried. Seller can sell what ever they like and nothing will happen. They keep your money, sell you crap, and get away with it. I really do not understand how the BBB can give a company like this a 5 star rating. Makes no sense! Mercari has no customer service, no phone number that goes to real people, only emails and then you wait for up to 48 hours for a response. Why would you buy from a company like this? Why does the US or any country let a company like this do business in there country? Stay away from this Japanese company! They are ripping you off in a BIG WAY! It is not worth the savings. Stay with ebay or Amazon. This Husband and Wife learn a very valuable $145.00 dollar lesson. Please learn from our mistake. Stay away from this horrible company Mercari!

I ordered pants from this website and the seller didn't ship them for two weeks and when i asked if they'd shipped she never responded to me. Tracking the package the whole way, it made a full circle and was delivered back to where it was shipped. The seller was not apoligetic in the slightest and refused to respond. I tried ordering one more time from a different seller and after a week of waiting when i messaged her to see if she'd shipped the shoes i ordered, she said "i can't find them." That was the last straw in letting me know that this website and the sellers on it are insanely unreliable and unprofessional. The only good thing I have to say about my experience is that the website was quick and willing to refund me my money both times. So all in all, SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, AND FRUSTRATION AND DONT BOTHER ORDERING FROM THIS WEBSITE.

I don't like mercari because you have no way of contacting them about any issue that you have! Another thing is that buyers give false feedback! A buyer left false negative feedback that had nothing to do with the seller at all! And mercari Does NOT do anything about it! All they care about is there money! I will no longer use mercari and I will NOT RECOMMEND
ANYONE TO USE MErCARI!

My account was suspended indefinitely after I attempted to transfer my balance of $1740 to my bank account... with no explanation why, so everyone be wary of Mercari they WILL STEAL any real money you make selling through their application. I will be reporting them to the BBB if they refuse to give me the money I am owed through selling my items on their site.

This is a horrible marketplace only designed for the seller NOT THE BUYER. I bought an item needing it in a hurry and paid extra for next day shipping. Merchant didn't even mail it out until 4 DAY LATER!

Seller has a 5 star review and now I know why, This site only published a review of the seller when the seller completes a review of the customer. So guess what, the seller never gave me a review, therefore their bogus 5 star remains. ALL SELLERS ON THIS SITE HAVE A 5 STAR REVIEW.

This is obviously a site where poor merchants can feel good about their lack of service

I have only been a member of mercari for a week. My first item sold gets returned to me, and I am not told why, or if I will be getting my refund for the cost of shipping. I try contacting customer service, but all they have is their support page on the app. They don't answer emails. It is now 9:30 A. M on a Friday, and they are not answering the PHONE? WHY ARE THEY NOT AVAILABLE? This app is JUST AS BAD AS DEPOP

MERCARI seems to give extra to help BAD USERS. AS I WAS WITH THEM FOR ++++YEARS AND AFTER THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME *I SPOKE OUT AND WAS BANNED* BYE BYE AND HELLO EBAY! They went DOWN HILL AFTER GOING PUBLIC!

I brought an i Phone X from a what seemed to be a highly rated seller, i did my research on them like i usually do on these kind of websites and again the seller seemed reliable. $780 bucks was taken away from, the seller DELETED their account so I couldn't even report them and when i contacted Mercari the transaction, no one replied.

I was scammed by Mercari
October 19, 2020

I never thought to check reviews first on a selling site. This one is the worst there is. I listed a carpet but there is a little box you are supposed to check to send. I am not paying hundreds to ship a carpet that was only $350. The items sells but Mercari never sent me a notification. Somehow I finally got an email to remind me to ship but I wrote in the body of the ad that buyer pays shipping. Next I get an email that the ad was taken down because I violated the "No pick ups" rule, I had no idea. I emailed them many times and they have kept my money paid by the buyer. THEY STOLE MY MONEY AND TOOK DOWN THE AD SO I CAN'T SHOW IT TO PAYPAL

A truly awful company

Had a horrible experience buying from Mercari and will never, ever, use it again. Horrible company, allows buyers to be deceived and makes it impossible to get any help.
I bought a printer that was described in perfect condition and, most important to me, ready to be used, at what seemed a reasonable price. But then it arrived with nothing... no cords, no ink... just an empty shell, and pretty useless to me unless I spent more money that if I had bought a brand new printer in the first place. Unfortunately, I was gone when it arrived so didn't realized I had been scammed until 3 days after it was delivered, at which point Mercari made it impossible to request or initiate a return, or even to contact the seller to complain. I wasn't even allowed to leave a negative feedback or a comment to warn other buyers. The printer ended up at Goodwill where they were maybe able to get $10.
So it's my opinion that Mercari is a truly horrible company that seems to victimize sellers as well as buyers, and I really don't know how they allow it to operate in this country.
If you have the misfortune to become a victim of one their sellers, be sure to put in a complaint right away, as you have a very short time to at least try to recover your money.

If I can give this company less than one star, I would. They basically stole money from customers. I don't even know how they can exist in this day and age.

Recently made 2 purchases from them. The first one was fine because the merchant was great. Immediately sent out the merchandise and it arrived and it's great.

The 2nd merchant took the money and did not send. USPS waited with tracking and Mercari said merchant has 3 business days. So I waited 3 business days and then contacted the merchant. Merchant lied to me and said it has been sent out already. I asked merchant to go and check w/ USPS. Mercari told me if after a week, if merchant doesn't send, then I can cancel.

One week, nothing, so I cancelled.

Guess what happen, on that same day, the merchant sent. So I talked to Mercari again and said I don't want to wait another week for the merchandise especially since I have purchased another already.

Mercari apologizes and said they are sorry but only with agreement with merchant can they refund? What? I thought it said on the agreement, after one week, if the merchant won't send, I can cancel.

I contacted my bank instead. I will let my bank deal with them after the item arrive.

NOT SELLER FRIENDLY

I sold a Funko Pop collectible to a nice gentleman and it was destroyed in transit by FedEx. The buyer's return request was accepted because my posting said "MINT BOX" but that did not protect ME as the SELLER. The buyer was really nice and request to cancel the return but, of course, Mercari wouldn't. Worst customer service too, just kept repeating "there's nothing I can do for you"

I was disappointed after purchasing a wallet that had a horrible smell. Not a new chemical smell. More like moldy, mildew, mice infested smell. I heard Mercari doesn't allow returns for odors but I figured that applied to something washable like cigarette or thrift store smells on a shirt or overpowering plastic smell that will subside.
I requested a return and was denied stating items can't be returned due to odors. I knew Mercari was a gamble so that one I lost. What upset me was they gave the seller a 5 Star rating! I was not able to warn future buyers and her rating was enhanced by my loss of money! Apparently if you request a return and it's denied the seller gets a rave review from Mercari! It makes no sense! Very wrong! Attached photos show them explaining' why I couldn't leave a rating or my own review and their policy for their 5 Star rating system. *Request return sounds so much better than denied returns. They make it sound like the buyer of the unsatisfactory purchase was refunded making the transaction at least neutral. That's not the case. You either deal with losing your money and give an accurate rating or request a return and possibly loose your money and that seller gets a 5 Star review thanks to Mercari!

NEVER EVER EVER BUY FROM THAT SITE! I understand some things will workout great but when they don't you will get so screwed over! I would absolutely recommend selling on that site because they at all cost protect the seller which in turn protects their site but they have VERY VERY VERY shady sellers on that site. You are ONLY allowed to leave a review and warn others if you received the product and are happy with it. If you don't receive the item you purchased or received an item not as described you are NOT allowed to leave a review. I will continue to do my purchases with ebay. Those reviews I can trust. Never been scamed or cheated with ebay. Can't leave a picture because my items never shipped from mercari

Every corespondsence says "Do Not Reply To This Email". I know why now, Your website is CRAP! I bought something, pd for it, seller cancels, my $$ gone. You do nothing about it.
