Finally, after a month, received a response with an apology for mishandling of the customer service and a resolution to the simple question raised by me. No explanation of what has caused the customer service issue, so I cannot say that the root cause has been addressed.
After three emails and about 2 weeks since the original query on Feb 7th, on February 22nd, I received a response apologizing for the delay and that MF will get back to me shortly. As a surprise to no one I guess, all I have is crickets... I have yet to hear back from anyone. Is anyone still working there to respond to customers? This is supposed to be a luxury retail platform, but it appear to be a complete joke and utter disregard for customers.
I've order many times from Matches Fashion. Note that it says "duties included". Once you reach a certain $ level in your cart, you can either prepay duties or pay them on receipt. Here is where you notice what the duties charged actually are. Problem is, for less than $800 USD, there are no duties to the US. I emailed MatchesFashion to ask why they are charging duties when none are due below $800 and they never responded. Thieves.
Delivery is always fast and reliable when it comes to Matches, and prices are usually fair. The issue is, I have so far purchased 3 pairs of Alexander Mcqueen sneakers from them, and only 1 pair was in perfect condition. The other two had small faults such as the sole was slightly damaged, the rubber was loose where the sole and leather upper meet, the leather upper seemed to be stitched in a little wonky on my latest pair etc. I don't know if there is a quality control problem or something, but probably wouldn't recommend if you're buying designer shoes.
I am a huge fan of Matches and have been a customer for years. I have also been buying most of my gifts through them and have them sent to Greece.
We live in London and deliveries take place on time. Since Brexit however, they are really bad with refunds. It takes a minimum of two weeks after they have received the goods to process refunds. I have also had other problems with them which were eventually resolved but only because i insisted and spent a lot of my time to achieve this.
What has made me write this review is the following: on my last order, three items were missing. I emailed them, i telephoned them and the issue is not resolved to date (6 July 2022). I wrote again and still no reply. For the past two days, their telephone lines are down.
Today, as i am writing this, Matches is unreachable. They have received money for goods not delivered. So, the fair description for them is: THIEVES.
I have been a MatchesFashion customer for a few years. I have not had a missing package until June 2021 when I moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The front desk at the place which is supposed to be secure did not receive the package. I had this shipped to a UPS Access Point, but the city did not match the Access Point Location so it was delivered. Like they say, one difficult situation ruins the entire brand. I am hesitant to shop now with MatchesFashion because of this incident. I understand missing packages, but this has been a very very stressful situation for me for almost a month. I was not able to enjoy Los Angeles and feel stressed out all the time bout the missing package. OMF *******
I placed an order in the afternoon on Wednesday in the US and just received my order this Friday afternoon. I bought a Self-Portrait dress and it arrived in high-quality, luxury packaging with no issues with the product. Despite some of the other reviews on here, I would most likely order from them again.
As most are aware, Matches is in liquidation and I am devastated to see this happen. If one were to read my previous reviews of this company the only service that was lacking and inferior was the most important service of all. Customer service. This is not the fault of the employees, it is the fault of the senior management ànd/or the owners.
I told them this repeatedly but my warnings were not needed and ignored. Customer service in any business is the most important service of all and by ignoring it, matches has gone down the pan.
If it is somehow miraculously purchased by another business, I hope they take this seriously.

I placed 2 orders since my first review and both time the process was very smooth: perfect product and speedy delivery from the UK to California. I am a happy customer. I do not understand the negative reviews because I find their process to be top - including packaging, invoice documents, and additional informative paperwork. This appears to be a professionally run company.
I read the reviews after placing my order, so I was a bit worried. Needlessly! My five pairs of expensive, brand new, perfect socks arrived in California via DHL within a few days of placing the order. I read criticisms of DHL - this is not deserved at all. I have dealt with DHL my whole life and they are utmost reliable. In fact, I received emails and txts to track my order. I was given the option of waiving my signature, and I did. The DHL courrier dropped the package by my front door and rang the bell. The packaging was beautiful and included an envelop with the detail of my order and a return slip. I am impressed. A smooth, well orchestrated process that inspires confidence in Matchesfashion.com
I have ordered several times before. It's better now because taxes and duties are included in price, $20 shipping fee. Called for tracking number and was disconnected. Within seconds a team representative called me back. Amazing
Terrible, ordered a t-shirt 350+ euros a week ago. Haven't gotten an confirmation mail nor a shipping mail. Mailed them about it and they replied:
"I can confirm the order was unsuccessful.
Any funds that might appear to have been removed from your account, have simply been held as a pre-authorisation, which will be automatically reversed by your bank within the next 5-10 working days."
What the f is this bs? How was it unsuccessful when Paypal got through? On my Paypal it literally says I paid.
Bought a pair of espadrilles and they looked like the shoes were from 2 different pairs ie they had different designs.
When I returned them it took over 3 weeks to receive a refund and they would not refund the freight charge even though the shoes were not as advertised.
They said that the shoes are hand made and can vary, but on the website the shoes advertised look identical. This is clearly false and misleading advertising.
I will not buy from them again and would not recommend the site.
Hugely disappointed in Matches. One of the poorest customer services around. Lines are manned by very junior staff unable to authorise and help effectively. Promised call-backs that never materialise. Their interest is in shifting stock, so if you managed to receive an undamaged item in the right size and colour you'll find it ok. If there is absolutely any issues- you're on your own and are not likely to see your money back. There are several other retailers in this space and this is by far the worst customer care I've come across. Spend your money wisely.
If I could rate zero stars I would, by far the worst retailer I have ordered from. I was scammed out of over £3500, and their excuse was that the courier said he delivered it therefore there is nothing they can do. I am currently in the process of making a claim for the small claims court to get back my money.
Has best selection of quality brands online. Always purchased from this company and received excellent service. All ok until I tried to return a pair of shoes. Shoes faded after once in rain. They were a pair of acne studio. I was told they are only for summer use and they can't refund. Summer is 70% rain in the uk. No information was sent to explain you can't get wet. Waste of £280. I have spent thousands over the years with matchesfashion. Won't be using again.
Hello everyone, I advise against matchesfashion.com. The delivery is not guaranteed (DHL = catastrophe) and in case of problems it is necessary to fight for refund! Good luck to all those who want to experiment!
MATCHESFASHION has made buying Shoes/Boots on line. Not just Possible, but Pleasurable. Fast delivery, fast return. I have bought nearly All my boots from them. Amazing Shopping, Amazing quality.
My last buy, Louboutin Ankle boots. I was afraid that they would be too narrow as my feet are a tad broad. I bought a size too big. Quick turn over and I got My size 4. So very Comfortable. I tried to get them in another colour. Sold out... I'm so SAD. They are on my WISH LIST.
They sent me a defective item. Many unanswered emails and calls later, there's been 0% follow-thru, 100% ineptitude and 100% scam factor. They tried to scam me out of a legitimate Rakuten promo (verified by Rakuten), And lied about their ability to fix it... all very much in keeping with their dismal online reviews. They also have fake reviews on Trustpilot. I'm still waiting for Maureen Chiquet, an executive from the company, to contact me.
I had been a loyal customer of MF.com for years until recently. One of the products I purchased broke, and I reached out to Customer Service for support. Their agents were super unresponsive despite the fact that I followed up so many times. These reps are just like cats - they do as they please - proactive reach-outs are non-existent in their world.
Bought a dress in May, returned it in May, still have not received my refund. It is impossible to get in touch with customer service- they don't respond to emails, you have to wait at least 30 minutes to reach someone on the phone, and multiple times when I finally reached someone the call disconnected but they never called back. Their representatives always say they are looking into it, but there is never any progress or response.
I have purchased few items and had them forwarded to another address in another country. I have contacted the company for a tax refund as it was not applicable, and they have asked me to contact DHL on their behalf! When I contacted DHL, I was told that it's the shipper that needs to get in touch and not the recipient (myself). Matchesfashion has not responded to any of my correspondence, and refused to offer any assistance. Please think twice before purchasing from them.
