Match

I have found all dating sites to be 90% worthless. However match is the worst yet and I am giving up on on line dating after 3 sites. They Match you with people who are not even on site anymore, if you don't go in and take your profile down they will leave it up forever. Or matches in other states or hundreds a miles away when you put limit to 25 miles. Can't get a refund when you want to cancel. Do not set up for auto pay. Service sucks. Don't do it.

Match have just taken my money for another sic months and I only found out from a bank statement. I havent used the service for three months as it really is rubbish - few people respond as most are only browsing and dont have membership so are only voyeurs rather than members. The matches are pretty useless. I complained to them and they trotted out the 'we can't issue refunds' policy. They don't care about my customer experience. They don't warn you your subscription is about to renew, so watch out for this scam and cancel your subscription manually. Easier still, don't bother with Match, unless you enjoy wasting time and money.

I met someone great through match.com 3 weeks ago(UK). I forgot that I had a dormant account that I haven't checked for 3 months and there had been a few messages from around that time. I think the site is pretty standard, nothing too fancy but I decided to pay for the service when I saw a profile of the same guy I was in touch with but abruptly got disconnected because eharmony booted me off without explanation (I'd give them -3 stars rating for that). All in all, it might be a lucky coincidence that I found someone great (he signed up on that day) but I give match.com the credit for being a legitimate site.

BEWARE of automatic billing. You will receive no heads up warning email from Match that your subscription is coming due and will be automatically renewed --- most companies issue such an email about 3 days prior to the auto-renewal.
Very poor customer service. While I was on the live chat, I had to ask three times for a phone number, and then, of course, you get on the phone with a person overseas who is reading from a script. Again, very poor customer service.

They just redesigned the mobile interface - it's a total failure! Clearly, they didn't do extensive testing and get feedback from users. It's time to get rid of Match. Given what they just did with the app, they demonstrated gross incompetence and that they don't give a damn about their paying customers who keep them in business. Close this site down! It's passe as a has been.

Am writing my first review based on dealings with Alexander, Employee ID ******* at Match.com. He was polite but extremely unhelpful and sounded almost like a robot. Additionally he allowed his staff to be rude and did not even apologize when I mentioned how rudely his staff had treated me when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. Match.com STOLE money from me and Alexander did nothing to fix the situation. He acted like a puppet instead of a supervisor. I'm not sure of the qualifications needed to work at this company but they should be raised.

Also did not meet anyone and was not matched with anyone that fit into the (BROAD) specifics I had input

My profile was up a little over two months, from June 14,2014 to August 21,2014. I just received the automatic renewal for $204.54 which is very sneakily employed, I might add. I called to request a credit as my profile had been taken down and I thought I had terminated my account on the site. Stupid me, I thought they would deal fairly with me.

They recognize I did not use the site, their policy is they do not issue credits. So, I have paid over $400 to use a site for less than three months with no hope of recompense.

Full of fake profiles at least 5 different women asked me to send money to pay for things like cancer treatment and children. Match took almost 140 euros from my account for 6 months. Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Lots of fake profiles and fake photos. I can count with one hand the amount of real members that got in touch with me. Some of the girls that got in touch to con me were from Russia Lebanon and Latin america.so don't waste your time.

Very few matches that met my requirements. Constant offers to "upgrade" to see better matches. When I cancelled my account I was suddenly matched with 2 people, one of which was an obvious bot asking about my experiences and the other looked legit - however it was deleted after 3 hours.

I would have to say my experiences on this site are mixed. After learning how to sort through the scammers and fake profiles, and sending out a lot of emails that were not responded to, I did manage to get quite a few dates. These went really well at first and I was even in a brief relationship, but most of the women seem to have various types of mental health issues that take a while to manifest. It has been a roller coaster of getting my hopes up about someone only to find out that there are barriers due to underlying "issues" that they have. This is not the site's fault but may be endemic to the types of people who tend to use it. The old fashioned way of finding dates, ie. Getting involved in some type of activity and meeting the people who are interested in that which you will then have in common, may be the best approach after all.

I accidentally subscribed to this site and was unhappy to hear they do not grant refunds. Even if you try to cancel, your account (and your money sits there. All they will do is not auto renew the site. I received one response to a message and after a short conversation, they stopped responding with no explanation. The people who the site allegedly matched me with invariably had at least one or two items that violated my preferences. To say that the majority of the members were unattractive would be an understatement. Apparently the people setting up the matches have difficulty reading the English language because most of them took only a cursory glance to see they were not a match. Save your money because if you sign up they will not refund a penny, even if you notify them withing days of your dis-satisfaction. The format of the website is clumsy, confusing and hard to follow.

They don't care about you. They lure you in with a promotional price and then auto renew with your credit card at a higher amount - much higher! But that's not the worst...

Ladies, there are scammers who are preying on women and try to get you to trust them and then they want money. Especially if you are a little older. Usually they are widows with a high income and a nice picture - but it's not real. They will put off meeting with you (in my case, boo hoo i'm a widow and haven't dated in 8 years and I need to get to know someone first) and then worm their way into your psyche with texts every morning and phone calls at night and words like I just want to love someone again... and then guess what they want. Money!

So I called match to report the guy and to see if they will do something since I never renewed they did but automatically but nope - they don't care - they've got ya. IMHO - try ANY other dating site but this. It's gross.

I had nothing but bad, I think its has bots sending me emails, I joined and paying member. Never had a email past the first email. If they are real ladies there, they are just as unfriendly as anywhere else online, I missed the scammers at least they are someone to talk to. Match also limits who I could match up with Useless website because of the ladies on it, so stuck up or what ever they are, I guess games, look good to make us guys want them and all they are are a tease...

This company preys on vulnerable people and is awful. I created an account, spent time on my profile, and started to exchange messages with matches. The next day, I tried to log in and my account was blocked. I called customer service and was told they could not give me any information but had to "escalate" the matter. Two days later, I got an email from Match.com saying my account had been terminated, that they could not tell me why, and that they could not disclose any information without a court order. I called customer service again and got the same answer. Meanwhile, there are people who I actually thought I might like to meet (the whole point of the site) who I suddenly am blocked from meeting with. I reviewed the terms of service and I didn't violate any of them; I've passed multiple federal background checks for employment. Since they won't disclose any information about my account, I can't even find out why I was terminated or attempt to fix it. Avoid this company.

Now, I have tried this site 2 rounds for a total of a year. They need to give you a heads up when you are about to auto-renew and spend $$$ but they don't. So keep an eye and put on your calendar so you can cancel before they take money from your account. With that said, I am an attractive, professional and haven't found many matches when I searched. Even the daily matches the send you - there are 11 and 3+ have no pictures. They need to hone their filters for a better user experience.
