They've been the worst
September 19, 2023

I wish I had looked at these reviews before. Might have saved me some trouble. Alas, I was not that lucky.

So I spent almost an hour and a half setting up a profile and curating it about five days ago. Uploaded pictures, wrote some things I thought were clever but probably weren't, and just tried to get things in order. Didn't look through any profiles or engage with other users, I was waiting for my pictures to be approved along with the rest of my own profile. Fast forward about two hours and I checked it, only to find out that my account had been suspended. That came as a bit of a shock to me, because I (and you'll just have to take my word for it) had put nothing offensive onto my profile; nothing obscene, graphic, or anything of the sort. It was maybe a level or two better than milk toast, and faaar faaar below raunchy or provocative. So I wrote to customer service to make my appeal, and explained that I believed it was a mistake. The ONLY thing that I could think of that would have flagged my profile was that I was signed into a VPN when I created my profile. I've had Craigslist posts flagged before when using a VPN; I know that it makes you look like a bot (sidenote: in hindsight, after looking through reviews of Match, the VPN theory is now dubious, because it would appear that the service is completely overrun with bots). Also, I mentioned the fact in my email, that I used a VPN, because I thought it would be relevant information, but the so-called customer service, who I believe are actual bots themselves, never seemed to care about it (or about any of the other details I mentioned, because every one of their responses was generic and never addressed anything specific that I said). So the next morning, I found the customer "disservice" had responded, and said: "I've reviewed your account, and based on the findings, I need to escalate your concern to a different department for further investigation." My reaction was, "Wait, what? Are you serious?" What was so bad about my profile that the issue not only couldn't be resolved with relative ease, but had to also be "escalated?" Well, I asked, and I asked a couple of times. It was a few days before I received the next response. They said: "Thank you for contacting Match. I understand that you need assistance assessing your account. Let's take a look at what's going on and give you details. We received your inquiry regarding the status of your Match membership. Please know that due to our Terms of Use, your Match account has been terminated. We believe this action to be in the best interest of our member community. Any new accounts created will be subject to review and will be immediately terminated." Wow, ok then. I was kind of baffled, and a bit offended. Like, what did I do? No answers, no help. Worst customer service, maybe ever for me. Well, non-existent customer service, to be more accurate. But doesn't matter. There are a hundred dating sites out there, so I'll just go find a better one, which won't be hard. It's really not often that I run into this kind of BS though, so I felt strongly compelled to write a review. If I can deny them potential users or customers by sharing my story, then I am happy for that.

POF is a joke.
May 29, 2021

I decided to take a chance after a years absence from POF and see if by chance things have changed. The first thing I noticed was an entirely new interface which seemed promising but sadly, that's where it ended.

For those of you looking for a dating site that will help you connect with singles then please do yourself a favor and just rely on strolling around the produce section of your local grocery store. Rather than just posting my personal opinions, I have provided you with hard evidence so you can decide for yourself. I have included screenshots and you'll find them at the bottom of this page.
I'll keep this as simple as possible. I will be sharing real examples of how useless and deceptive this site really is.

1. Hey guys, you said it's free but it doesn't work.
Nothing is free about this site. To send letters to women the men must first purchase tokens. The selection process is somewhat deceptive and misleading because there are numerous options and features that can confuse you about what you have access to. The most basic option is to purchase 1 token in order to send letters to members. You can purchase tokens in larger values and they will allow you to spruce up your profile with colored borders and bold text etc. None of this really works. It's just a cheap cash grab by the company which does NOT improve your chances of meeting anybody.

2. Return to sender.
This part I wish to take my time to elaborate on because many of you reading this will have a hard time believing it. Without exaggerating, my personal experience has demonstrated that approx 75% of profiles I reply to REJECT all letters from men. Why? I have no idea but I've included a screenshot below to prove this so have a look for yourself.
Think about it. This is a dating site. As a single male I would like to meet a single woman but they refuse & reject letters from all men. However, their profiles remain active for you to see. Why? What is the point of having an active profile and being online yet simultaneously you are rejecting contact from all men? Please understand that when the woman is online there is no mistake knowing this because there is a small blue dot with the word "ONLINE" next to her name indicating that she is logged on, BUT, she doesn't want to hear from you. Explain the logic to that?
That's like walking into a store and seeing all the merchandise on the shelves but you're not allowed to purchase anything and when you try to ask why, nobody is there to answer you. Explain that POF?

3. Can somebody help me please?
I attempted to contact customer service to request an answer to why profiles of women are active when they are rejecting all mail. If they wish to temporarily reject letters then the policy should be that their profiles are hidden so to avoid frustration. POF does NOT offer any contact information for such questions as per the attachment at the bottom of the page. If you notice at the bottom of the screenshot there is a link to a form that you can fill out with your concerns regarding questionable practices. I did attempt to go this route but there is NO option available to ask specific questions. They give you a limited list of options but none are suitable for the problem mentioned. In simple terms, POF is basically telling you to get lost and your concerns mean nothing to them.

4. Somebody is interested in me?
Wow, I was notified that there are women interested in me and how do I find out who they are? There is a link at the top of the page, "Interested in Me". If you click on this link here is what you will see (look at attachments). It's a blurred out image of a member. Now, if you click on that members photo/name it takes you to another page where you are informed that in order to see who this person is then you must PAY an additional fee (as per attachment). Here is the gut punch. If you can see in the image, there are two descriptions below the photo under the members name. 1. viewed you. 2. Viewed & liked you.
The "viewed & liked you" member is from outside the Province/State or Country. Yeah, women who are from outside Canada are very interested in me but locals are not. Hmm. Interesting how that works, huh?

5. Hello, how are you today?
Most women refuse to reply back to letters sent to them. I make it a point to send a very simple and neutral message. For example. "Hello, how are you tonight? I found your profile and wanted to see if you may like to chat?".
Most ignore the men's letters and rather than being civilized and decent, they ban the man from contacting them. Yeah, you get banned from sending her a letter. This only supports the suggestion that many profiles are fake for the purpose of attracting members who will spend money to use this site.

6. I can't send any more letters today?
When I purchased my token (allowing me to send letters), nowhere, I stress NOWHERE was I informed that I have a limited number of letters that I can send per day. Once I send out the limit that POF established I now must wait 24 hours before I can send another letter. But hold on a moment, I PAID to use this site which means I should be able to send all the letters I wish. Does that make sense to you? Not according to POF.

7. Did I see you somewhere else?
I decided to spend some time looking at profile from other provinces and into the US. To my surprise I found duplicate profiles from two different locations. In fact, two provinces. The photos were the same but a few minor details were changed such as age, employment and marital status. Brace yourself people, there are phony profiles on this site.

8. You live where?
I found a profile of a woman living in a town that I never heard of. I had to google it to see where it is. Turns out, according to the profile she lives in a remote community in Northern Ontario. Just for kicks I sent "her" a letter and she replied right away. Hmm. Could this be a real connection for me? "She" replied by telling me that she was happy to hear from me and wanted to get to know me. Within 5 messages she tells me that she is currently living in Nigeria and could use a few dollars to help her with groceries until her next pay check. How did I reply to that? I banned her.

9. What do you mean I can't change my personal information?
Do you want to change your username, well, PAY UP. Yeah, even information on your personal profile page cannot be changed unless you pay a monthly fee.

10. Hey lady, you're a dog.
You would think that profile would have photos of the person who is looking to meet you, right? Think again. On POF you will find profile photos of dogs, cats, horses, shoes and somebodies lunch. This is how the women attract a man on this site. How do you take somebody like that seriously?

11. I can't send you a letter because of what?
I have always suspected that POF has fake profiles and I believe this last example will support that suspicion. You will at times send a letter to a woman and discover that she will not accept letters UNLESS, you upgrade your account. What does that mean exactly. You must first agree to spend a monthly fee for additional features that you don't need at all. Oh, hold on here. What possible reason does that woman have to insist that YOU first pay an additional fee for your membership in order that you can contact her? What does she get out of this? NOTHING. Is she trying to tell you that to have the honor of contacting her you must first prove that you're frivolous with your money and that you'll do anything it takes to send her a letter even if it means she'll ignore you? Possibly, but I'm now convinced there is a darker reason. No sane person would think this way so that leaves us with only one possible explanation. POF has countless fake profiles which motivate you to spend money for a feature you do not need in order to contact a phantom member who does not exist. If this is not criminal behavior then you tell me what is? This is another example where POF goes out of its way to ignore you about these issues. I've attached a screenshot below to prove this point.

12. Photos are ripped from other sites. It's interesting when you stop and examine the woman's profile. The average number of photos per profile is 2 but many have only 1. Here is the dirty part. When you look at the photos they clearly are professional shots. Most of the profiles with 1 photo have a very deceptive profile. The woman clearly looks like she's in her mid 20's, BUT, posts her age as 50. I am now fully convinced that POF allows fake profiles to saturate their site to attract men and that is the scam.

Final thought. Perhaps it's time for POF to change its name to POS.

I think 11 examples are sufficient to give you an idea of what this site is all about.
Everything about POF is a scam. This site exists only to extort money from your pocket and nothing more.
Please, save your money because this site does not deliver anything except frustration & deception.

Tip for consumers:

If I could give POF 0 stars I would.
Save your money. This site does not work.

Match- A site where men go to pass on stds
May 4, 2019

I signed up 15/08 to the site and thought it would be an honest place since it's for mature people. I was emailed by this strange man on the site. He's a longstanding member of Match as well & i suspect many other sites. He & i exchanged a few emails where he started using what looked like common interests & other tactics in order to gain your trust & a false bond. He bored me with what i thought was his life story. Even revealing details that should remain private about his family.
He confessed he had been 'stalking' me & many other exotic women (black glossy hair, dark olive skin, dark eyes) everyday for months. He's obsessed with a certain type- asian, middle-eastern, mediterannean, mixed race or black. Really a blow up doll or mannequin with black glossy hair will get his juices flowing. Apparently his mother's obsession with any man with black hair, is the cause of this weird fixation.
He will feed you a load of fantasy & lies about his life in order to gain trust & then progress onto sexting, phone calls & a one night stand or two. Perhaps even for a few months. Before he starts backing away two-timing you & ready to go onto the next victims. It must take some planning.
I learnt that this is what he does 24/7 everyday. He very quickly suggested we exchange phone numbers and started texting each other.
He sounded reasonably educated and said he worked in finance. Lo & behold he's a gigolo who preys on both victimised women with problems as well as well groomed educated career types. But sooner or later the woman will be manipulated into paying for everything. The photo he uploaded is far from the reality. A rusty old car sitting on bricks, a rusty old white van & a tiny old two-seater that regularly breaks down is the actual reality.
He is a sad looking balding sight, with a hairy back resembling a crocodile's & talks about nothing else but his past conquests ex-wife, ex-girlfriends & horrible extended family. Btw the ex girlfriends also fill in as F-buddies, so beware. He has a perverse obsession with India. Sometimes mimicing the accents. He doesn't accept that it's offensive. Believe me, if you happen to be indian it isn't in a flattering way. Ditto for black people.

His health problems sound like a publication in a health journal for grubby diseases. ED could just about, be excused if he did have a monogamous bone in his body. It must be nature's way of bringing him down to earth with a bump. Gangrene is yet to set in. He does not & has never practiced safe sex. Don't expose yourself girls to horrible stds. His mouth is not just for stringing out lies, it's been part of this dangerous man's tools for picking up disease from the immoral individuals like himself & passing it on & endangering the health of otherwise healthy unsuspecting women.

He is mentally ill, a penniless hoarding hermit, up to his neck in debt & living in a small village, South of UK sorrounded by dust mites & mildew, living in one room in a dark dingy delapidated grimy dirty smelly house, with decaying food, filthy carpets covered in other women's hair, dirty underwear, dry skin particles & heaven knows what else. The stacks of dusty old newspapers are a sight to behold. He has nothing to offer anyone. He might try to fool you by mentioning how it would be nice to settle down get married & have children soon. Don't fall for it. It's nothing but a string of lies. He is looking for an unsuspecting female to rescue him from his worthless existence in that village to a big city like London so he can live off her earnings, drive a nice car & treat her like a notch on his bedpost. He spends 24/7 in a filthy dressing gown stuffing his face when he has cut price food in the shack. The highlight of his day is stalking the aisles of supermarkets at cut -price hour eyeing up female shoppers who might be a good catch & chatting up checkout staff. Watching & criticising other people going about their business & gossiping repeatedly narrating for the hundredth time yet another boring old story or bringing up details of his past relationships is his idea of entertaining conversation. He'll tell you lies of how he's a hard worker pointing out the benefits cheats living nearby but he's exactly the same only he lives on other peoples wages as well. He goes for days without brushing his teeth or even having a shower or bath. He licks the crockery instead of washing up. Shock horror!

Just a warning girls. Don't fall for the attention & attempts to win your sympathy. He has an ugly mind & ugly nature. You are simply one of many that he has on the loop. He is obsessed with his ex gfs, ex wife, sisters infact every female from his distant past- dead & alive. His own family hate his guts & want nothing to do with him. Very soon a matter of weeks or months, you'll soon be faced with stark reality as his real nasty character starts to show, manipulative, taker, a gigolo & user. He may even start the disappearing act saying "We could be better as friends" or brazenly expect you to pay his mounting debts as he totes up how many arguments you've had after you've been set up & blamed for them all. The entire act is being played all over again on the next victims. You've been warned. Give him a big miss! Don't waste your time. He's not worth a second of it.

Harassed, disrespected and taken advantage of financially
March 7, 2018

I signed up for a three-month subscription for Match in February 2018. The free version didnt have as many features, so I decided to pay the $75 for three months because I heard such great things about the dating site. Minutes into creating my profile, which said seeking men 24-30 years old, old men and even women started messaging me. I blocked the disturbing profiles and continued searching, hoping to find someone that met my two minimum requirements.
After a few days of opening up my messages and being horrified, I called their customer service line to get tips on how to avoid these harassing messages from men three times my age. They said theres nothing they could do after I put in my requirements any man or woman could still message me despite my very clear preferences. I asked to cancel my subscription and get a refund since I had only used the service for less than a week at that point. Gabriel said that he could issue a refund for the 2 months I didnt use yet. I pushed for the full three-month refund because I was so disappointed after giving it a chance for just a few days. He said that it was past the two-day return policy and that I signed the terms and conditions. I replied with yes I signed the terms and agreements because you promised to give me a selection of men under 30 Match didnt fulfill this promise, so it would only be fair for me to get my money back. Gabriel proceeded to tell me that he was disconnecting our call and then he hung up on me. I have never had a customer service representative hang up on me before so disrespectful.
I called right back and got Jone on the line. I told her the story of what just happened and then asked for her to follow through with the two-month refund. She then told me that this isnt possible and that she didnt know what Gabriel was talking about there was nothing on my account to reflect his promise. I asked her to give me the refund that Gabriel promised and she asked to put me on hold. She didnt put the phone on hold she just set it down and I could her loudly groan in the background. UGHHHHH then she picked up the phone and continued our conversation. I was so horrified by the customer service I was encountering so I abruptly ended our call.
I called back to speak to a supervisor about Gabriel and Jone, but the supervisor wasnt in the office. I just called back (a different day) and spoke with Benny the supervisor. I told him all about the above and he told me that customer service agents can hang up on customers and that since its past the second day of the purchase, he wouldnt be able to give me even a partial refund. I dont understand why this company lies to their customers, doesnt provide profiles that are relatively close to what the person is looking for and has the most despicable customer service representatives I have ever encountered. Ive been harassed by users, disrespected by their staff and have now been taken advantage of financially after paying $75 for one weeks use. This company is a scam.

Theft of funds - autorenew
December 26, 2017

Regardless of whether or not you turn off "autorenew," they will charge you. If you find out TWO days later and try to get a full refund, this is what happens:

Wendy F.: Hi, my name is Wendy F. Please give me a moment to review your account and I'll be right with you.
Wendy F.: Im sorry to hear you wish to discontinue your time on our site.
Wendy F.: While I review your account, would you please tell me why you want to cancel?
*******@gmail.com: My personal life is in a twist right now.
Wendy F.: I do understand.
Wendy F.: Per your request, Ive turned off the automatic renewal. You will still be able to utilize the subscriber-only features until the end date of your current subscription on 03/26/2018.
*******@gmail.com: I wanted it to end 12/24.
*******@gmail.com: That's when my subscription was set to expire.
Wendy F.: I'm sorry that you weren't aware of our auto-renewal policy.
*******@gmail.com: I do not want to pay for, or have, an account.
Wendy F.: For convenience and to make sure your subscription benefits are never inadvertently lost, all Match subscriptions automatically renew by default when the subscription period is done. This also protects you from rate increases by locking in your rate for as long as you keep your subscription current.
Wendy F.: Here's what we can do.
Wendy F.: While we are unable to process a full refund, I can provide you with a partial refund. Since you are currently within 30 days of the auto renewal, the system would drop you down to a one month subscription.
*******@gmail.com: I had turned off autorenew a month ago.
Wendy F.: The refund would be in the amount of $29.01, which represents the difference in price after converting your subscription to the one month package.
Wendy F.: Please let us know if you would like to proceed with the partial refund.
*******@gmail.com: What was the full term amount charged? What would be the amount of the refund?
Wendy F.: It doesn't appear that the automatic renewal was ever turned off, so thats why your subscription renewed. I apologize for the confusion.
Wendy F.: The refund would be in the amount of $29.01, which represents the difference in price after converting your subscription to the one month package.
*******@gmail.com: How much was charged?
Wendy F.: The amount is $80.97 only.
*******@gmail.com: So, because I got charged two days ago for something I didn't want and thought I'd turned off, Match keeps $51.96? Do I have that correct?
Wendy F.: I understand that the amount after the refund may be different from the price you saw advertised on our site. This is because you initially purchased a package subscription, which includes three of our Premium Services at a discounted price.
Wendy F.: Please let us know if you would like to proceed with the partial refund.
*******@gmail.com: Please let me know if you would like to proceed with this theft of my funds. Is it worth it? This is really bad public relations. Can you refund more than the $29 you stated?
Wendy F.: Unfortunately, the system only allows us to issue a refund for $29.01. Im sorry thats out of my control.
*******@gmail.com: Whose control is it in? May I speak with them?
Wendy F.: I understand you wish to speak to a supervisor. I assure you my supervisor will provide the same information I provided you.
Wendy F.: We can only process a partial refund on your account. Would you like to proceed?
*******@gmail.com: Then refund me. And be assured I personally will never use your service again. Also be assured that I will let others single people know about this. Keeping my $50 will end up costing your company more than that in fewer future subscriptions and bad publicity.
*******@gmail.com: You should reconsider who you work for, Wendy.
Wendy F.: Im sorry you feel the need to do that.
Wendy F.: At this time, that is all I can do.
Wendy F.: Let me process the partial refund now.
Wendy F.: Per your request, I have issued a refund in the amount of $29.01, and it was processed immediately. It was successfully processed on my end, but may take 3-5 business days for your financial institution to receive.

Wendy F.: You will still be able to utilize the subscriber-only features until the end date of your current subscription on 01/23/2018.
Wendy F.: I'm really glad I could assist you today. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Wendy F.: Thank you for choosing Match. If there's nothing I am able to assist you with, I'll sign off now but if you have any other questions, take a look at our FAQ page.

match.com is a scam, pick another dating site.
December 11, 2017

I recently signed up for match.com as user name MYSTAGIC, and got a few people that contacted me, but I couldn't view or click on any of this stuff or even know who was viewing me, until I pay for service, so I paid for service to see who was messaging me, so I wrote some responses to a few people and started talking to someone and we were really hitting it off, but I had to sleep it was 3 am, so I logged out and the next day my account was terminated and no indication to why, and I know I didn't write anything offensive or bad, I uploaded a single photo, and barely used the site, I didn't even have service for more then 12 hours so I wasn't even able to setup anything or proceed with talking to the person I was talking with and now that I am no longer on the site I have no way to contact them. Using match.com was one of the most awful experiences I have ever had with any online site. They give no warning or even explain why your service was terminated, when you try to talk to them they simply refuse to give any real information, and after doing so research into this company they have had serious issues dating as far back as 2011.

I paid for service on: 10 December 2017 at 00:11 am
Account was terminated at: 10 December 2017 at 06:14 am

I only used the site for roughly 3 hours and got permanently terminated, for some unknown reason that they won't even tell me. The only response I got was some automated message of:
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear MYSTAGIC,

We received your inquiry regarding the status of your Match membership.

Please know that due to our Terms of Use, your Match account has been terminated. We believe this action to be in the best interests of our member community.

We can also confirm that a full refund has been issued. Your bank can provide you more details about when it will appear on your statement, when the funds will be available to you, etc.

If you paid to attend an upcoming Match Event, please know your name has been removed from the RSVP list and any charges associated with the event have been refunded.

For reference, our Terms of Use can be accessed at the following link: http://www.match.com/registration/membagr.aspx.

Regards,

Match Corporate Care
------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, I do not recommend this site for any reason whatsoever. They robbed my chance of talking to someone that I found very interesting, though it's very possible that the activity sent to my account was entirely fake and generated by match.com to be fooled into buying service. Seeing how, not even moments after signing up I receive allegedly all this winks, profile likes, and private messages, from real users, which I find it hard to believe I got all that activity within my first 10 minutes of using the site with a incomplete profile. Then after buying services I could respond to these items. But then suddenly without warning my account is terminated, and I have to get a refund, thankfully, I paid through paypal and have buyer protection. If your looking for dating sites, I wouldn't put match.com any where near my choices, and I will never recommend this site to anyone, and anyone asking about this site, I will tell them the very short experience I had with it.

Tip for consumers:

Pick another dating site, match.com is awful

I was looking for a dating site that wasn't surrounded with "hooking up", or the repetitive annoying dating scene, but something meaningful and classy more upscale. Being a single mother of 2 I decided to give this a try, it was a free offer why not. But with the free offer if I did not cancel within 7 days I understood my card would be billed and rebilled for continuation of services. After I entered my card I was redirected to another page through match.com and it asked if I was sure, I was still second guessing but the page refreshed and I was a member, I didn't mind it was a free trial as of 07/29/17. I read and understood that my card was NOT TO BE CHARGED UNTIL AFTER 7 DAYS OF A FREE TRIAL. This was not the case the very next day 7/30/17 the charge went thru. I noticed this on 7/31/17 and emailed to contact the company stating there must be an issue I was billed. Well when someone finally got back to me I responded promptly that I would like to cancel and get my money back.
This was an on going email reply with the company until someone was like give us a call. I work 2 jobs and email was my only chance of contact, but I called on my only day off and the person was like you used this service we cannot refund you. I was like well I only used the service within the trial period, so you are telling me that you offer a trial period but if I say yes and use the service I am automatically billed? He stated yes. So I was instructed to contact my bank to see what they could do about these fraudulent charges and they opened a case. I did. But then I was told I needed to deactivate the account which I asked for not once but twice via email with the company. Well now 3 months later I am being told that I cannot find out anything from match.com until December 24th 2017! 5 MONTHS AFTER I ASKED FOR THIS NIGHTMARE TO BE OVER! I am furious that this company's customer service is unhelpful. There is no supervisors to talk to and I don't think my concerns reached the proper authority to handle the situation and if it did I feel sorry for the numerous other singles that have been taken advantage and mislead the way I have. Math.com is not what it says to be, I would highly recommend Tinder or Plenty of Fish over this scam of a business. The only thing I requested was to cancel services and receive my hard earned money ($59.70) back to use towards a legitimate company who doesn't prey on singles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKI93jsaPhU

I would give Match.com ZERO stars if i could.

Bad, bad business ethics, Match.com. Shame on you.

Six months ago, I signed up for 6 months for $119.94. I followed all the rules and regulations requested for qualifying for the additional 6-month guarantee when my first 6 months ran out.

They DID NOT send me an email (like they said in a phone conversation I had with them on 9/13/17) with a questionnaire I had to fill out to fulfill the 6-month guarantee. What they did do, however, was charge my credit card for ANOTHER $119.94 for an additional 6 months WITHOUT letting me know and without my consent.

I filed a dispute with my credit card company AND I contacted Match.com chat line and explained everything, where I was reassured that I would certainly receive my 6-month extension AND also be credited the $119.94 back to my credit card. Here is the chat transcript:

Chat By Chat (Corina D.) (09/11/2017 01:38 PM)
[01:31:53 PM]Hi, my name is Corina D. Please give me a moment to review your account and I'll be right with you.
[01:32:09 PM]*******@gmail.com: Okay.
[01:34:44 PM]Corina D.: Im sorry about the problem you had with your account today. Rest assured all has been taken care of.
[01:35:09 PM]*******@gmail.com: Okay, thank you, but I still need you to hold to your promise of the 6-month guarantee.
[01:35:32 PM]Corina D.: Sure.
[01:35:40 PM]Corina D.: It's already credited.
[01:35:46 PM]*******@gmail.com: So, I should be issued another 6 months for free according to your contract with me when I signed up. If I held up my end of the deal, which I did, I was promised another 6 months no charge.
[01:36:02 PM]Corina D.: Your current subscription is paid through 03/08/2018.
[01:36:14 PM]*******@gmail.com: Okay, thank you. Would you please send me an email confirming all of this? *******@gmail.com. Thank you.

The next day I went to sign into my account and found I was blocked in red saying that my account has been blocked and that I should check my email inbox for notification from you for more information. There was no such email in my inbox.

I called today to talk to someone at Match.com and they said because I filed a dispute with my credit card company that I was disqualified from my account and that if I wanted to continue, I would have to start all over again with a new account, new profile, new pictures and pay another $119.94 and THEN THE REPRESENTATIVE HUNG UP ON ME!

Wow. This is one dating site that I will never have anything to do with again, nor with I ever recommend it any any of my friends or clients.

Shame, shame, shame on you Match.com.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that I was shown your true colors.

Buyer Beware! Match.com charged hundreds of $$$ due to their own site error and refuse to refund!
June 20, 2017

BUYER BEWARE! MATCH IS AN UNETHICAL COMPANY WITH FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM WITH YOUR $$$$$$

Tried to sign up through their site. It would not process my payment. I kept getting an error message. I tried several times, with a couple of payment choices - my credit card and PayPal (which is associated with a different email address but the SAME funding account and personal identification information. AND the email addresses are EXACTLY the same except for one is me.com and one is hotmail.com). It finally worked. I successfully purchased a 3-month subscription. Only to find later that evening that their faulty site had processed more than one payment and opened more than one profile under my name, using both email addresses and charging me hundreds of dollars in overages! Match WOULD NOT REFUND THE OVERCHARGES because they said that these were DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS! Cited their 'policies and procedures' dictate that refunds aren't allowed! Whoa! This was their site's error, not mine! Their 'chat' person could clearly see in their records that the subscriptions were identical in terms of my personal information, the date and time of the purchase, and the credit card used for both were the same!

A subscription is with a PERSON, not an EMAIL ADDRESS! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS WAS THEIR ERROR!

Their 'chat' person would not escalate my complaint nor was I allowed to actually speak to a manager! Their 'chat' person just kept quoting from their P&P manual and then disconnected the call and disabled my ability to lodge another complaint or 'chat' with anyone else! Match WOULD NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERROR WHICH COST ME HUNDREDS OF $$$!

I'M SURE THAT I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO!

THIS COMPANY IS COMPLETELY UNETHICAL! A CONSUMER SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO SPEAK WITH A PERSON WITHIN ANY ORGANIZATION SELLING A SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC AND SECURE THE REFUND OF UNAUTHORIZED FUNDS.

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! I REPEATEDLY REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO MANAGEMENT AND A FULL REFUND. I WAS HUNG UP ON. THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER TO ACTUALLY CALL AND SPEAK TO ANYONE. YOU ARE AT THE MERCY OF THEIR 'CHAT' PERSON!

THIS COMPANY IS UNETHICAL AND FRAUDULENT. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SUPPORT THIS COMPANY BY PURCHASING A SUBSCRIPTION. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER SERVICES ONE CAN AVAIL THEMSELVES OF. BUYER BEWARE!
