Been in and out from this website for about 2 years. In over 2 years, I am still seeing the same guy profiles there.
Some of them are real, some others... I am not quite sure. Some of them never responded.
NONE of them was even looking for relationships, just to hook up. If you are looking for that as well, this is the place for you. For a monthly fee, you can at least try. Beware of old pictures, men who lie about their age, kids and pretty much everything else, men who will get upset if you don´t... well, you know, on the first date...
After I realized that 99% of them were playing games, I decided to start writing a blog about it and put them notes.
Even when none of them are really worth keeping, I am pretty sure more than one lady has been upset, sad, disappointed and even angry at some of them.
We should start a forum and share experiences. It could be loads of fun.
Nope, this is not a serious place if you are looking for the real deal.
I signed up for 1 year subscription. Wanted to cancel about 6 months into as very disappointed in site. I was told (by computer) that there would be no cancellation until renewal in another 6 months. Quit looking at site as very few results from my emails to women. Site kept asking if I wanted to "make sure she reads your messages".
Just wanted more money from me.
At my cancellation date I received notice from my PayPal account another year subscription had been paid. I entered a dispute with Match thru PayPal and it was denied, even with my copy of their notice it would be cancelled on that date. Yes, I should have cancelled my credit card with PayPal. I have now, Match will not respond to my email
Protest. Match has no integrity!
I want to post pics that I am with someone else but I don't want to show the other person, won't let me crop photo or rearrange it. Paid $90 and the site keep asking for more $ since I'm Not giving more I am not getting exposure. Sucks. $90 is not $5 I should have the service. With so many bad reviews how sitejabber made them 2017 awards? I would delete that, it doesn't look good
Be aware that Match.Com will take subscriptions even if you cancel. I joined Match Affinity for £9.99 I cancelled about a week after. I have been charged £44.95 for Match Com which I did not subscribe to. Customer service useless.
Please be aware of this. I have heard of other cases too... Use another Dating Site...
They are ROBBERS!
I contacted Match 3 times reporting a scammer, they still let this guy known as Dino to continue his profile. I have had 3 people who are real to contact me after being on this site for 60 days. Im truly looking for someone and will hopefully find a site whos looking out for their customers!
Atrocious site. Scam artists and married men galore. There is a "Report a Concern" link that I have used to report the married men and was told by several customer service representatives that the men would be removed from the site within 24 hours for violating Match's policies. Guess what? Been over a week and the married men are still there and active! Seriously? Match helps married men cheat on their wives as long as they are making a buck, what do they care? Watch out people and stay off of this site!
Match.com is totally a SCAM. When I signed up there was no information or warning that before the end of your subscription you got to cancel atnd this had happened to me, they got another $79.99 from my Paypal account and they said there is no refund. I was match to beautiful young ladies, but they are fake and will inform you there profiles are not available. All ladies whom I interested to contact are not in existent... they are old signers who had quit a long time ago.
Match.com is a definite racket. They have done everything in their power to setup the system so that cards auto-renew and you are unaware, and then have "policies" in place that make it impossible to get a refund. They could care less about anything other than making the most money possible and do that by screwing over anyone and everyone they possibly can. STAY AWAY from Match.com.
"Matches" are based on weather and wind and not te details you enter. Automatic review kicks you in the balls if you forget it as they have a no refund policy. I actually feel sorry for their call centre, they must hate their jobs as they have no empowerment whatsoever. Now sitting on a bill of 120 quid for what? Nothing... Disgusting company stay far far away
I joined Match.com because I have friends that met there a few years ago and their experience was great. I finally made the decision to join given I didn't have much luck on other sites. I thought Match would be a better choice, but honestly it's not. Match is no different than other sites that are FREE of charge. Save yourself the money! Not to mention their customer service is the worst I've ever had. Irene can take a few customer service lessons.
My experience after 5 days says total sham/scam. One of two email contacts eventually started leading to "you know i am in Kenya". Attempts to contact locals with email warning of fraud led to exactly one answer, and suddenly unavailable profiles of all faves/likes/winks, and fairly sure the one reply was a fraud as well, and fairly sure the only thing maybe authentic to site are photos sent in by morons such as myself.
While I cannot deny that at least some of the female profiles on Match.com are legit there are a good number of fake ones. After 60 days of use I became more than a little skeptical that some of these profiles were not real. I performed a quick test using a number of reverse-image lookup services to find other instances of some of the more "beautiful" women that miraculously appeared in my area. I found that about a quarter of all the profile images could be found on other dating sites all over the globe in countless cities. Totally fake profiles used to lure prospective males into purchasing subscriptions to contact them. Federal consumer agencies need to take these shady operators to task at some point and rid the industry of these practice.
Do not sign up, Their main goal is to have users on their site to generate traffic so they can cash out with advertisers.
Here are some of the reason i do not recommend this site:
- No refund
- Automatically charges your credit card after you requested to cancel before your month is up ( would not refund your money)
- fake profiles
- if you download their app - they will constantly send you "likes" and "wink" from members and once you tab on it, their is no such members.
- If you send messages to "members" you will get back prob 1 out of 100 because most of the profiles are inactive members from the past. A very good friend's image showed up with a "like" and i know for a fact that she has not been using this site for years since she was marry and had three kids). The image was from ten years ago.
All they care is your money and once they get a hold of it they are not letting go.
If your subscription is renewed automatically, even if you call them on the day it happened, they will not issue you a refund, not even a partial refund. This happened to me and a girl i was dating. So you are charged a full price for 6 months. The customer service reps are extremely rude, and would simply hand up the phone after stating that they do not have such a thing as a "refund". Honestly, this is the first time i experience such a horrible customer service from an online service. I have had excellent experiences at ebay, amazon, newegg, okcupid, etc. Please stay away from them.
Before paying I received a lot of alerts.
After I've subscribed I' e received a few alert, but those profiles are fake, not active or not existing at all.
Some other like comes from the others side of the world.
Possible matches are suggested without considering the age range that I've chosen in my profile, so all the site is useless.
Match.com is a scam. I cancelled my subscription and they still keep charging me. When I tried to contact "customer service" they avoided answering any questions via email because they don't want a paper trail. They are feeling the squeeze of free services like Tinder and OKcupid so Match.com is doing everything they can to screw their consumers out of money.
I had the same experience that you guys faced... I felt of being robbed. I had put my subscription status as non renewal, however it got renewed and around 70 dollars was deducted from my account... when I asked them to return the amount, they just refused and took the whole 3 months amount, though they have an option of taking one month of 19 dollars and lied to me that I never changed the status to non-renew... never join this site. And delete you credit card details.
Do not join this site! Match.com is a scam. Profiles that don't exist or existing long enough to get past their 6 business's day refund window. These scum bags care about the money, they don't care about you. Tinder is better than these sh@t bags.
I would like to know how they handle complaints, eg, men who for no reason at all send emails calling you every filthy name that comes to mind for no reason at all - when you report a concern, do they shut down these monster's accounts, or? It is unbelievably horrible to open one's email to find this horror
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
