I paid for a 3 month subscription and it was all the same women from OkCupid except no one ever appeared to be online. It constantly recommended women I wasnt interested in and never narrowed it down despite my completely daily Match after daily Match. I turned email notifications off, but they kept filling my inbox at a rate of at least 100 a day; I had to delete that email address. I hated everything about this app.
Match abusive commercial behavior and non respect of the contract. I am a 60's year old male and Match sent me in a month about forty 20 to 40 year old young women from Brazil and other countries, sent me fake profiles that contact you and never respond, women who pretend to be in their 50's and actually are in their 60's, women who lie on their weight, a few pounds overweight means more like 20 to 40 lbs, photos that are from another era, etc.etc. I know women complain all the time about men´s behavior, but Ladies, if you are looking for a serious relationship, why start with lies? Match has got to be the worse dating site.
If you happen to find a gem i. E. a real woman on Match you can consider yourself an extremely lucky person! I realized that the odds were stacked against me on Match, when I paid attention to the style in which women wrote me: bad English, sudden changes in reply style, no willingness to speak about themselves and their lives. I exchanged emails with several women. I started to get suspicious and just like I expected, all of them got in some sort of trouble and asked me for money. One after another.
What a waste of time and money! Match.com just want to screw us out of our money, they don't care that their site is full of scammers. The majority of photos on Match don't belong to the people who use them hoping to con unsuspecting men and women out of their honestly-earned money.
After having to get my credit card company involved because Match charged
My credit card after I cancelled my account without my permission and knowledge
I am now terminated from the site. This is their brand of customer service. I call
On anyone who has faced this issue to contact their local state Attorney Generals
Office and file a consumer complaint. They take a dim view of such practices. Maybe
After they loose the right to do commerce in certain states they will wake up.
The worst men use Match. I didn't even make it a date. The site give false claims about getting your money back after 6 months but there is specific criteria you must meet to get a refund and then when your account is renewed (without telling you) they refuse to give you your money back if you've sent one email to someone. If you are a serial killer, like bros, men who look 15, are socially awkward or just all around unattractive then match.com is the place for you!
I used to go to match.com for a month or so, maybe one bot or two sending a wink.
Now I am back, 12/14/12, and after 3 days, I am getting several, easily more than 10, if not 15 or 20 bots. It's all over, "winks", "they're interested" "like your pics"!
"IM's"
HORRIBLE!
Last time I remember so many bots was when I use to go in yahoo chat rooms.
I had met someone on Match and we became exclusive. Little did I know he was exclusively using my credit card right out from under my nose. Thank God I caught it within $2000 (stupid I know) but I reached out to Match to let them know about this person so no other woman would go through what I did and they did nothing! You can't even post a warning to other woman! Never again will I use a dating site. I feel like a moron over all of this :(
Site is the biggest scam on earth, the emails you send out are intercepted by some guys with a bunch of computer screens, they will just open it without reply. Don't you wonder when you only ask for name and say hello you don't even get a response? How many women did you winked or favourite? How many winks and favourite did you get? There you go.
All you are doing is giving free money out to this so called company. Most of the Pictures stolen from Face Book and made it seem real, majority of the Profile are fake and controlled by some Creep in his Basement with a bunch of servers laughing at your love notes you are trying to send to a Woman you think is real.
My verdict is: never invest your time, money and feelings in Match! It's phony and totally fraudulent site! I takes unbelievable amount of time to find someone real among all these fake accounts on Match. They create these fake accounts of pretty ladies to boost their popularity and to lure new users into purchasing membership. Once they have your cc details, they will keep charging you for the features you have never used. You will have to waste your time again when you decide to cancel it. Deleting your account is a pain! So just don't get involved with this nightmare site!
They're still not letting me see my matches n who's interested in me, I gotta give it to them. We're going to see what happens n I'll definitely keep everyone posted! Good er bad you'll hear about my exact experience with this company and how they go about caring about us
I went online and joined Match.com in July 2017. My selections were to join for one month or either join for 6 months at a slightly less charge. So I decided to join for just one month. I never got an email that I can remember stating my terms of contract and payment authorization. While on the Match dating site, I chatted with a few people and emailed a lot more and I never got a response. I was beginning to think there were fake profiles like on all of the other dating sites. And overall the site was no better. After a month, I got my credit card statement and I noticed that I was being charged for an additional month from Match.com. It is currently in dispute and looks like Match was charging me for recurring payments and I didn't sign up for that. So I am really ticked off about this site. And per some other reviews on here, I am afraid they could reuse my closed profile which I have also witnessed them doing on Zoosk. I hope not. Don't waste your money!
I " enrolled " with this site but was smart enough to pay them zero. I kept getting "emails" from "interested" females and if I paid a fee I could see the contents of the bogus emails. The reason it was so obvious the site is CRAP is because all the potential "contacts" were from other states and overseas! My advice is waste your money on ciggies or booze and you will be certain of some enjoyment! The owners of this site should at least get their act together and program their auto answer computer to at least send crap messages from non existent females and synchronise them to the same state as the poor sap who has [ or is going to] pay them their hard earned money.
Tried to get into Match.com website and they have instituted a new, very aggravating way to annoy members by having them choose some numbers on dice that add up to 14 and when you choose it, it still won't let you into the site. Most annoying thing I've seen lately. I have cancelled my membership because of it.
Match just took $100 from my account and then sent me an email stating I was "removed from the community". When I called to find out about this, they told me that I would have to speak with their corporate office via email because they do not have a phone! In some ways I am grateful to be done with this terrible experience. Most of the men I have met are wanting a "friend with benefits". It has been a degrading experience all together.
I stopped using the website but then I found a $71 USD charge on my credit card. match.com automatically charged me a 3 month renewal fee of $71 USD two days earlier. I received no email notice from them leading up to the automatic payment. I called their number and the operator said the best he can do is refund me $20.01 and he refused to transfer me to his supervisor. In summary they charged me $51 for a service I did not use.
I didn't even get a chance to become a member. I answered the initial questions and posted 4 pics that were completely normal fully clothed pics. I went on the next day to write my summary and they blocked my account. I then received an e-mail saying my account was terminated. After calling 2 different dept. and emailing back and forth they provided absolutely no explanation as to why and all they say is due to our privacy policy we can't tell you why we terminated your account. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You're going to terminate someone before they even start and not tell them why? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Then on top of that when I asked for my refund they said, oh you have to contact iTunes for that. Worst company I've dealt with yet for online dating.
Another personals platform pretending that there are women on it. NO moderation whatsoever, so they expect the users to do their job and report the bots. Women who want to meet me no longer exist, love is over. It`s very sad and pathetic time to be alive.
In my experience Match.com should be called Match.con because that is what it is, I was tricked into subscribing a membership and now they say I can`t cancel my subscription, they are taking money out of my account without my permission, I did not sign any contract. The dating site is full of fake profiles, but when you report them they still are not deleted, in fact they keep visiting your own profile. Match.com is a complete waste of money and I would warn anybody not to join and be ripped off like me.
I have found all dating sites to be 90% worthless. However match is the worst yet and I am giving up on on line dating after 3 sites. They Match you with people who are not even on site anymore, if you don't go in and take your profile down they will leave it up forever. Or matches in other states or hundreds a miles away when you put limit to 25 miles. Can't get a refund when you want to cancel. Do not set up for auto pay. Service sucks. Don't do it.
Match have just taken my money for another sic months and I only found out from a bank statement. I havent used the service for three months as it really is rubbish - few people respond as most are only browsing and dont have membership so are only voyeurs rather than members. The matches are pretty useless. I complained to them and they trotted out the 'we can't issue refunds' policy. They don't care about my customer experience. They don't warn you your subscription is about to renew, so watch out for this scam and cancel your subscription manually. Easier still, don't bother with Match, unless you enjoy wasting time and money.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
