I've dealt with Making Cosmetics for years at this point and their lack of customer service is ridiculous. If a product says it is in stock it shouldn't take weeks to ship and there is no way to actually check on the status of your orders. I have worked in cosmetic manufacturing for a decade and the only reason I gave them a star at all is because I had too. You can't call them and they will just lie to your face if you email them. No accountability and zero urgency.

Love Making Cosmetics

I needed some raw materials for a formulation workshop at Georgia State University and Thena and the team got it to me in time! Will always be using Making Cosmetics. Not so often you can call a warehouse and have them expedite shipping.

Below is a section from the privacy policy on their website, now why the hell would they need to collect passport and social security info? This is a deceitful attempt to trick people into giving them explicit consent to PII (Private identifying information). If you have ever done business with these potential scammers, please send them an email rescinding your consent to such intrusive permissions, and insist until you receive confirmation.If they refuse, file a complaint with the FTC.

"Information We Collect

Once they have your money, they will not respond to voice mails, if you're even lucky enough and don't end up in a "full" mailbox. Buyer beware, find a more reputable source for your raw materials.

I have tried to use this company for R&D with certain natural items. They drummed up so loyalty program nonsense that will not allow a company to choose shipping methods more conducive to their needs. This is NOT a professional company nor capable of handling large company needs. Their customer service approach is for the Kitchen Chemist and DIY audience. As a company it was pitiful that they never credited the shipping charges when the one time they actually did use my UPS acct# so for all the companies out there you have to chase them to be honest and have accountability. Whether $1 or $100 companies do not have the time to insure this company maintains their honestly in refunding money due. I tested them and waited 2 months later nothing so if you do not call and make them accountable they will just pocket money that does not belong to them. Then you get these customer service millennials that will never help you because they are too self entitled to understand GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE and building a relationship. I am appalled and will be passing this information down to all my colleagues.
Companies Buyer Beware this is not a reputable company to work with.

Scammers

I run a spoil business and I am way behind schedule all because I made the horrible decision to shop for supplies from your company. You have ruined my business. I should have listened to people warning me not use your services. Please I need my money right back into my account. I need my $199.31 in my account. You said you refunded me but I have not seen a dime in there. You cancelled my order for no reason after charging me? That's fraudulent. Now you won't refund me. What kind of business is this? You guys did the same thing to a couple of my friends who own small businesses the earned me but I didn't listen. I need my money ASAP I have a business to run and I'm running out of time.

I have only few products I buy from the company, the quality of the products I buy is satisfactory for now. My biggest complaint is way overpriced ingredients and it takes them 4-5 days to create a shipping label to ship a couple of ingredients.

Check out where they source their ingredient. Some of them are from china. Read the certificate of analysis before purchasing. Tons of heavy metals and arsenic. I thought I was doing myself a favor by making my own cosmetics until I read those. Im going to look for HA and various other ingredients elsewhere until they find cleaner sources.

I've been dealing with Making Cosmetics for several years, and I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. There have been a few issues (to be expected) and most have been resolved, usually shipping delays.

Recently however I had an order sent and it was shipped FEDEX. They allow the option to have things shipped on your account, which I do as it benefits my rates with FEDEX. Well, this particular shipment consisted of 4 packages. 1 package never arrived and when I tracked it it was registered as damaged and returned to the shipper (Making Cosmetics). When I called them, I was told that a claim had to be filed and I couldn't get more product sent out as a replacement or a credit until the claim process was completed. So, I was forced to buy another unit and pay for overnight shipping because by this time I needed the product desperately. Over the course of the next 6 weeks I would call several times, and never getting any satisfaction, just the same run around over and over. "Let me look into this and I'll contact you before the end of the day" only I never got a call, ever. I always had to call back. Today I am told that I have to sign a waiver releasing Making Cosmetics from liability to ship products on my account. WHAT? I run a business too, and we sell and ship things daily. Sometimes those things get damaged or lost. I NEVER tell my customers they're responsible for something I sold and shipped to them and that they have to assume responsibility. That's horrible customer serviced and they have thus lost my business forever.

I waited 18 days for an order to be shipped. I called in and they said it wasn't their fault, it was their suppliers fault and that my order wouldn't be shipped for at least another 2 weeks. They really need to take responsibility for their business, and make their customers aware of long lead times.

They were not willing to offer any concessions.

This is one of the worst experiences I've had with a company.

They are always late on shipping and when you call to confront them about it, they try to extend the processing time as if your unaware of what the website says, will be getting my ingredients elsewhere

I ordered two products from this website. I never received a delivery confirmation number or an update regarding my shipment. It's been close to 2 weeks, and I still have not received my order. When I called customer service, they said that the item was delivered. However, they never provided me a tracking number nor did they follow-up with me. Instead, told me to ask my neighbors and follow-up with USPS. Very helpful.

I will not be ordering from this company again.

Very good

Good selection for core ingredients, not so much on favors, fragrances and colors. Unlike some similar sites you can buy pretty small amounts (i. E. 3.5 grams of shea butter), although I assume it's a bit pricey comparatively. I ordered on a Saturday so processing took a few days but it shipped and arrived very fast. Everything was wrapped well and the products are good quality.
Shipping is around $4 for me (but is based on your location) which is very good compared to many ingredient suppliers.
