I set up an account and I thought everything looked all right. I had planned to close my other email accounts and switch everything over to mail.com. But first I tried sending emails to my mail.com account to make sure it was up and running. I tried logging onto my mail.com, but was unable to, even after days of trying, and contacting the site management. Thankfully I didn't close any of my other email accounts, because apparently mail.com is not a real email site. Don't waste your time with this email. Choose a real email site.
My account had been blocked by mail.com since March 2017. I contacted their customers service to help solved my issue by unlocked my email account, they asking me for money. One of their technician with strong Indian/Pakistani accent asked me to buy iTunes card for $100. Dubious and scammed crookeds.
My mail. Com email, which was directed to their domain instruction. Com, was discontinued without notice the second week of April 2025. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! This seems to have happened several times in the past.
I would give zero stars if possible.
Locked my email due to security reasons because i used my email from 2 different locations and when i went to activate it, their security department denied me to re-open it and because of inactivity for 6 months they decided to close it and i still had stuff linked to the email and was still trying to communicate with them to get back access or at least get back the same email but i now will no longer be able to have the email back and my account linked to the email are no longer accessible without 2 step and my stuff in the email are forever gone
Don't recommend this garbage email site
Contacted the company after my email account could not login. They terminated the account, lost everything! With no email to the email retrieval account. Really nasty. Lost hundreds of contacts and emails.
They have blocked me because they say that I am a spammer. All that I do is bounce back all the spam that they let thru to me! ( I use Incredimail to get my mail off their server POP) I am a premium user that pays for this lousy service. They have right on there website that they will answer my concerns in 24-48 hours but it has been weeks and MANY emails to them thru their "contact us" page. POOR customer serviced... sell your product then block us and don't answer our concerns! Can you spell "RIP-OFF"! I have been with them for about 10 years and now with different owners, they think that they can treat the paying customers like $#*!!
Ive been both a free and (very briefly) a premium member of mail.com for over 10 yrs. The service was good until the recent update. Now, all my Inbox messages are spam, and my nonspam messages are in my Junk folder. I have tried to use the filter, but the same junk messages (e.g., from Love Swans - wtf?) that I marked as spam ade still showing up in my Inbox. Mail.com is now horrible and I refuse to pay for the premium service when the tools to keep out spam dont work for the Basic service.
I will be migrating all my business to another email provider.
I am an amazon seller and own some of the brands. I signed up for mail.com paid service in the hope this will be great. Their security team blocked my account due to suspicious activity at 9 AM approximately on Sept 5th 2017. I logged two cases and called twice and was told that the case has been escalated to Level 2 Tech support, which by the way is never available on phone. As of 9 PM the account is still blocked with no access to my emails. I have no idea how much is this mistake of using them is going to cost my business probably atleast 50 unhappy customers and atleast revenue worth 5- 7k.
Have you ever heard of paid email service that doesn't have any tech that you can talk to. I can call my cellphone company and complain about something and get facetime with a support tech. Please never use their email!
I registered *******@email.com account around 4 - 5 years ago, but last week when I loged-in, only a message that they blocked my account. I contacted support and they replied with an automatic message that it's final decision. No reason why my account was blocked, I used it with my online business for years, even with my Paypal account (over $20k usd there) and now they blocked it with no reason. Terrible mail service! Stay away if you don't want to waste your time...
If I could give this company a neg 10 I would. Their Premium Service is terrible both e-mail and phone support. They are unhelpful and act like they do not want to help you. The phone support is located in the Philippines and they are the worst. Their verification questions are difficult to answer and they refuse to do anything unless you can answer them. Do not use this company!
If I could give zero I would. I opened a new mail.com email account to replace another mail.com email account which no longer had a relevant username. I transferred some key emails from the old account to the new one, since I had some emails from a charity that I needed to respond to. In the new account I contacted everyone I deal with to tell them of my change of email address...suddenly...bang...both accounts were then blocked for "impermissable" activity. So now I have no access to any of the emails for my charitable work, and cannot continue work I was doing on their behalf. And now presumably everyone I deal with is getting bounceback unavailability emails from the very address I just told them to use. It reminds of the saying "no good deed goes unpunished". This company has ruined a good piece of voluntary work I was doing, tarnished my reputation, making me look foolish and I don't even know why.they won't say. All I did was transfer some emails from one account to another new one. I can't urge you strongly enough, do not use mail.com.
After 3 years of decent service I started having issues with emails not reaching the recipient. Mail.com said the recipient didn't exist but I was receiving emails from them thru gmail. Mail.com asked that I send them the entire email that wasn't being delivered so they could review it. Unfortunately the email contained account numbers and SS numbers so I couldn't allow them to review it. Now it's time to cancel... after multiple phone calls to get them to email me a cancellation request, I have to jump thru hoops to prevent them from charging my credit card again... avoid, avoid, avoid
5 minutes after setting up an email account, it said there was suspicious activity and locked me out. Been trying to get back in for a week. No support, no customer service. Don't use them.
One of my complaints about mail.com is the frequent obstruction of the login screen by certain adware which interferes with attempts to login. This obstructive adware is usually hotel ads. I have complained to mail.com repeatedly about this problem but it falls on deaf ears. They continue to allow the display if these obstructive ads.
I believe that mail.com is frequently used as a vehicle to get certain PC Cleaner software installed on your computer. This is usually shady stuff like a.tribalfusion.com which is believed to install spyware on your computer.
There is no "revert to free version" or even a "cancel account" anywhere on the website so you'll have to actually e-mail them to cancel. Absolutely no other company does this! Not only that, but you can expect to have to submit a lot of documents (government ID, bank statements, etc.) and fill out forms in duplicate (not kidding) in order to get anything done, ESPECIALLY payment info changes and cancelation requests.
Don't even bother trying to remain in good standing with this abysmal company and just request your bank to chargeback any future charges under the name "1&1 MAIL MEDIA". Trust me; you won't miss them.
Half the time the site is unresponive. There are about 75 trackers built-in to it's web pages to capture every keystroke and mouse movement. They peole are serious about capturing as much personal data as they can about each and every user.
They are horrible. I paid for premium package last year for business. My outgoing emails kept being rejected. After numerous complaints they inform me their servers were blacklisted and they were working to fix the issues. This cost me business. I asked them to cancel and give me a prorated credit, they said no. The CC I used expired prior to renewal so I wasn't concerned, they couldn't charge my account again. Now they are claiming I owe them another year premium because I didn't cancel prior to renewal, and if I don't pay they are turning it over to a collections agency and will report it to my credit bureau. They also said that they can't cancel an account that is past due. Stay away from them...
I have been using Mail.com Free Email for a couple of years now, but lately, I have noticed that their website, which was always a haven for spam, has been getting more and more unreliable...
The entire time I have been here writing this review, their Logout Page has been trying to finish loading. This is endless loop that seems to own Mail.com now.
I am assuming this is a way to try and STRONG ARM you into purchasing their Premium paid service, and that they are purposely coding in bugs and glitches to their freemail accounts.
In any cases, STEER CLEAR, these people are ruthless. Now, let me see if the Logout Page has finished loading yet.
WOW big shock, it has not!
My account has been blocked with no explanation. First ever sign in and a message "irregular activity" pops up, please change password. 2nd sign in same thing, but this time account blocked. When contacting support they respond with "abuse" department decision and that's it. No answer afterwards and now i can't recover my information that has been in mail box. DON'T BOTHER USING THEIR SERVICE.
Started off well but soon after, mails was not being sent through phone or outlook. Wanted me to pay for the premium service. Ads coming through everyday too.
Answer: Sane happened to me after paying for premium service for more than a decade.
