Hi,

Don't waste your time with this website, ebcause, here is my story, I found the site from googl andI opened an account 2 days ago, a couple logins but NEVER sent or received any mail at all, and all of sudden my account is blocked.
I filled a form reporting my case with reply saying it remains blocked!

STOP WASTING your time!
If I could give (-) MINUS 3 stars, I would!

Poor Service
May 31, 2018

Less than a year ago, I made 2 accounts, and I really had intentions to migrate most of my contacts to this service. But today I tried to get into my account and check some of my emails until I got a message that my mail DOES NOT EXIST. WOW! Really? Just like that. Thanks God that I didn't linked anything important to this "mail" service, otherwise I would be in a very very big trouble. But things can get even worse, when I tried to see if I can make a new account I'm finding out that this service has blocked my entire country, probably a whole region ( I am from south-east Europe).
Although I have always loved to experiment with new things and give them a chance, this is one of those services that should be avoided at all costs because you can easily lose all of your data and messages and no one will be responsible for that.

You'll have a better chance to recover your mails after traditional hacking than here.
This is only good for spamming and illegal activities.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

One of my email addresses I used to email daily very often to a friend. Someone who doesn't use any messenger nor doesn't want to.

A few weeks ago my account was having issues sending emails and I contacted the support. All normal things like uninstall/reinstall didn't help.

My friend told me at that time that my emails came in the Spam. Not tech savvy I wasn't added to the white list but my emails were moved into the inbox.
A few days later I could not send emails any more to Hotmail. And a part of my IP address was blocked. Please note, I rent an apartment with WiFi included. No idea which (Bulgarian) provider I have. So no possibility for me to contact them. And for such issue I am not going to contact the landlord.

The same day I got the message in my application that I was blocked out of my account. So I contacted the support of mail.com.

Only to learn that I am treated as a criminal/terrorist or even worse:
Our security department has examined activities coming from your account and determined that your account will remained blocked. Please understand that we cannot change a decision taken by the security department and that we have no additional explanation to offer because they will not share the exact reason for the block.

No explanation, no possibility to defend myself against something I for sure have not done. Nothing!

Stay away from these dishonest crooks. They're happy to make tons of money off advertising, but their customers are not important to them.

I signed up to this site due to the fact that they have unlimited storage for emails. I needed it to archive all my emails there and organize it. I have like 40GB of emails. I even paid for the premium service, but got too much disappointments and finally decided to leave the service and moved to Microsoft exchange online for these reasons:
1. IMAP is very slow, I had a very high speed connection up to 100 MB. While transferring the emails using outlook IMAP it takes too long and it hangs along the way. While when I used exchange, it was quick and easy synchronization. Each time it hangs in the middle, half of the emails were still on my local outlook file and half transferred which ended in messing up where I didn't know which ones to transfer again
2. Limited folders: it turned out that they have a limited number of folders to be created, I forgot but it was around 200. I had created folders to organize my emails, I couldn't do that anymore
3. Limited hierarchy of folders, you can create only two level subfolders, also hindered the ability to organize emails in folders.

Right after I clicked ‘register' my email got blocked. The website advised me to file a ticket and I did that.

I got these emails:
1. At 10:46 (03.09.2021) ‘Thanks for signing up!'.
2. Then at 10:49 (03.09.2021) got an email about my ticket: ‘Thank you for your message – an agent has to personally review and process your request.'
3. At 15:11 (03.09.2021) I got this:
‘Dear mail.com Member,

We have forwarded your request to unblock your account to our security department and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked.

Please note that this is a decision made by our abuse department and we do not have further information we can provide to you.

With kind regards,

Your mail.com Support Team.'

When I try to register a new email account it says ‘A technical error has occurred. Error Code: 8d3ca75f-694c-43ea-b00f-6a49fb93c2c7'. Restarted my laptop, turned off AdGuard. Nothing works.

Well, I almost never write reviews, but this is some kind of a new low that I couldn't just walk by :). There's something terribly wrong with the service if you can't even register a simple email.

I have been with Mail.com for years, and a paying customer for the past 3, but I have decided that I will no longer be paying for this service. I am unable to send to multiple external domains as the email is bounced back saying that Mail.com is on a RBL ((Real-time Blackhole List, used to block suspected spammers.) When I try to contact support about this, I receive no reply. Apparently Mail.com's underlying provider, GMX.com, regularly shows up on email blacklists due to their service being used for spammers, which means that they don't have decent safeguards in place to prevent this behavior (or they simply don't care.)

Additionally, I have asked for years for Mail.com to include a 2FA option, but when they do reply to this request it's to say that they'll take it under advisement. Most other serious email services have already incorporated 2FA to secure their service. Not mail.com.

I subscribe to Have I Been Pwned, which is a site that monitors data drops from hackers and alerts you if your email address and/or credentials show up in a list of hacked credentials. Mine showed up recently from a Mail.com drop, meaning that at some point in the past Mail.com had been hacked. When I tried to report this, I was told that it was a Phishing Email, which I know is not the case. Again, Mail.com doesn't care, even if you are a paying customer.

Mail.com is not a serious email service and I cannot recommend it to anyone who is not looking for a purely throw-away account.
