First and foremost, I believe that Macy's is the best department store I've ever been to in all my years of shopping! I am an avid and loyal customer for 25 years now and always felt that they were just perfect! But recently, Macy's has changed their return policy to a strict 30 day return, which is a great disappointment to me because there are times where time slips me by and it may be a little past 30 days. I have recently encountered, a problem with an online return. I spoke to a representative within the 30 days who told me that a refund would be issued, and that there was no need to return the blouse I purchased because it was damaged. So I waited and waited for the refund, but nothing ever happened. I called and explained everything to the new representative who found no record of my previous conversation, which completely amazed me! I put in a dispute and Macy's, to my surprise, denied my claim for a silly little $39 because they said it was past the 30 days (and it was NOT). Of course, I will continue to shop at Macy's because it is my favorite store, but I am very unhappy with what happened with my return and all because of its new 30 day return policy. It really was a big disappointment to me because I spend up to $800 a month and yet they gave me such a problem for a silly $39 - just very unhappy about this new return policy!
I think Macys in a great store there are very nice(the people I dealt with)people there and they take back almost everything if something goes wrong with what you buy.
I ordered a male dress shirt and a pair of cufflinks. I was very pleased with the service. I did not have them mail it to me because I needed them within two days so I made then a pick up at store order. I was very happy when I got a text about one hour after I placed the order online that my order was already ready for pick-up! It was pretty great. Very fast and I got what I ordered, I wish every site was as good as Macys. THEY EVEN GAVE ME A DISCOUNT I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT! How sweet is that? They helped me save money. So I will be doing a lot more shopping with this honest, and great servicing company.
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICIES I returned something purchased and was given 1/2 credit on my card and then was given a gift card for the other half, I said what the heck I paid full price why do I only get half back. I was told "well you can use the gift card to shop" I will be calling corporate and retuning my Platinum Macy's Card since their treatment of their customers have become VERY, VERY, VERY POOR
I was so happy to stop in this macys and find this very nice lady who helped me buy a beautiful outfit,I couldn't forget her name Louise because my moms name is Louise. She was a great help and I wouldn't mind traveling to come to this Macys again, very very nice and helpful

The following company Macy's denied my online purchases at first.
Then they took the money out of my account and I still haven't recieved a refund over 5 days.
This company needs to be shut down.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY STOLE MONEY AND DIDN'T DELIVER PRODUCT!

2- Macy's never shipped them
3- THEY CHARGED HER FOR THE BOOTS
4- Grandma RE- ordered boots in January
5- MACY'S CHARGED AGAIN!
6- boots didn't fit and granddaughter returned for a gift card
5- Macy's sent gift card WITH 0.00!
6- we called Macy's and they dragged grandma into it. (So now she know her gift was returned!) Macy's said they returned money to her account YET THEY MAILED US A GIFT CARD WITH 0.00 balance!
7- grandma was charged in November when the card did not arrive. Charged again in January. Then when she gave auth for Macy's to send her granddaughter the gift card THEY CHARGED HER AGAIN!
My husband and I walked into the Murray UT Macy's yesterday, and immediately thought, are they going out of business? The store seemed practically empty and the employees were few and far between. We were trying to return some perfume for store credit so I could get something else. We ended up finding a friendly lady only to find that she was not an employee but a perfume vendor. She was able to get the attention of an employee who seemed irritated to have to process the return. We then took our gift card and found some shoes we needed different sizes. Finding an employee to assist was again not easy. Finally after wondering for a few minutes an employee asked what we needed. We finally got the sizes we asked for but then the employee disappeared again. We ended up finding the employee in perfume that had done the exchange to check us out for the shoes. Basically I could go on about my experience, but really it just boils down to not a single employee seemed excited or happy in their job. Not a single person seemed interested in customer service. This tells me it's coming from the top, management, or worse corporate needs to make their employees a priority so they can provide a better customer experience. If they aren't going out of business they are will be soon enough. The quality of the product there will not make up for the lack of customer experience.
Do not go into this store people, they are allowing people with their pets to come in and shop. I have sent multiple notices to the Macys headquarters regarding this El Centro California store and have heard nothing back yet. Pets will urinate on floors and none of the store employees will do anything to clean it up. HEALTH HAZARD TO THE PUBLIC. Only service dogs are to be allowed in any store where the public consumers shop. Poor management conditions if any in this store.
This morning, November 29,2013, a video clip titled "Lawsuit threatened over fine" posted on cnn.com, showed Kleargear.com fined John Palmer $3500 for posting an online negative comment about it. Below is the summary.
John Palmer Bought some Xmas gifts for his wife on Kleargear.com in 2008. The couple said the ordered item never arrived and the transaction was canceled. After 30 days, Paypal returned the money to John's account. After repeated calls to Kleargear to find out what happened, they posted a negative review of Kleargear on rip-off report.com, saying in part "…There is absolutely no way to get in touch with a physical human being… No extension works…"
Three and half a years later, they received an email from Kleargear stating they would be fined $3500 dollars if the negative review was not taken down in 42 hours! Rip-off report did not allow the couple to delete the review. So, Kleargear sent to the bill to a collection company. Consequently, that caused the couple a lot of trouble when they tried to get some finance to buy a car. The Palmer said they would take their case to court.
I will certainly stay away from Kleargear.com
First off, know that I have been a Macys charge cardholder since the early 1970's. That dates me but I've had lots of experience shopping with them. And aside from an occasion able beef about three deeming their coupons over the years, all in all I've been satisfied until the last 2 years. I have t liked their inventory or their prices as well as other stores. One event though, as made me part ways with the Macy's I've done business with. I paid off my charge with them through their online site. I had no idea that they then tacked on a $4.00 service charge on my account, where it sat unnoticed by me for 3 months. By the time I saw it, there were more charges. Ok my fault, should have checked. What happened next though is unforgivable. After all the years of charging and paying on time, Macy's reduced my credit limit down to $100.00. I called them, explained that I didn't know I had a service charge, paid them over the phone. Guess what they said. Basically, "too bad, that's our policy" So, Macy's, "too bad" for you. With customer service like that, you are killing your customers off. There are too many good retailers out there to put up with your bad policies.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT, SOULLESS "BUSINESS"! This site did NOT send a Utah couple's order, so they did the logical thing and posted a negative online review to this effect. kleargear.com responded not by reaching out and attempting to make things right as smart businesses do... Rather, they FINED the couple $3,500 dollars for violating a "non-disparagement" clause in the ToU that the internet archive proves DID NOT EXIST at the time the order was placed! This fine has wrecked the couple's credit score and left them unable to purchase a furnace during cold weather. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!

I am a plus sized woman and I want to rave about the women's clothing found at Macys.com. Finally a retailer that understands plus size does not necessarily mean old or stodgy! The variety of clothing offered makes it easy to find anything you might be looking for, and not just elastic waist pants or solid button collar t-shirts like you find in most stores. I have purchased several times over the last six months and find the quality, consistency of sizing and delivery speed to be excellent. The best feature is that whatever I do not like I can simply take back to the Macy's store and get a full refund hassle free.
From professional attire to fun weekend outfits there is a lot to choose from and your most difficult choice will be how to whittle down your shopping cart so as not to break the bank!
Most of the time I get free shipping and along with the discount codes offered on the home page of the site, great deals on clearance and sale items. If you are willing to wait until something is on sale, the prices cannot be beat even by other discount retailers.
In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with this online retailer!
Use Macys.com a lot, never had any issues. I usually take any returns back to my local store, but have returned through the web site also - very easy and fast to credit my account too!
The reason for this review is to warn others so that they might not attempt to make a purchase from this site. Placed a recent order with Macy's online department store for a pair of Women's Carly Steve Madden Double platformed Mary Jane shoes at the whopping price of $66.93 which was unbelievable to begin with. I placed the order, and later was told that it would be shipped out on December 6th which is 7 days from the point of placing it. I found the shipping procedures, and price odd to begin with, but proceeded anyway. As I'm attempting to check the status of my order, all I get is that "the order is still being processed notification". Days after paying my hard earned money, all of the sudden the site now no longer loads via search, or the app. How convenient! Long story short. I won't hesitate to notify the bank of the charges, and scam(s) that Macy's online shopping may be conducting, and of the stealing from patrons that are unaware of their thievery. Beware of making purchases via this website. Everything that glitters isn't gold. Thieves will be thieves all day whether it be Macy's, or any other online department store. Consider yourselves warned.

Worst experience ever that I've had with an online store. Macy's is racist so Asians with obviously Asian names, do business with Macy's at your own risk. I used my valid fully funded credit card at their online store. They declined the transaction. They said the card was declined by the issuer. When I checked with my bank, the bank confirmed the transaction was in fact approved and gave me the approval number. Macy's refused to accept this or acknowledge they lied about the reason for rejection of the transaction. To make things worse, they reported the card as compromised to Visa, prompting my card to be suspended. I called the bank and luckily was able to get my card reinstated. I as traveling so having a suspended card was highly inconvenient. I have many Asian friends who tried to shop in their stores and got the same treatment and excuse that the card was declined. I used the same card at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus thereafter and had no issues whatsoever. There seems to be a pattern. If Asian business is not appreciated here, happy to bring our business elsewhere. But have the guts to admit instead of wasting our time with lies that our bank declined the transaction, which they did not.
I saw Macy's Housewares having a sale on Pots & Pans with Bonus! Being bulky I ordered a non-stick & stainless set plus a set of fry-pans online. The items were shipped free, arrived on-time with tracking! But I then noticed the pans went even lower in price plus a promotion of an additional 15% for credit card holders! I signed-up for a card, instant approval, ordered duplicate sets on Macy's card. We trekked the original 5 boxes to Macy's SF; paid for bridge toll & parking, returned to my Visa without a problem! My duplicate & less pricey sets charged on Macy's arrived on time too!
However only 4 stars because after research I found the Stainless set was a lesser quality than it used to be. The Company changed a few years ago. That info was no where on the site or on packaging! No problem, we trekked back over to Macy's this time only 2 boxes. The sales lady was sweet, she informed me that I could've just returned by mail free of charge! What? Why didn't the other Sales lady mention that as we were balancing 5 boxes? Or the person on the phone when I was making a duplicate order & told them I was going to return the first order? She also thought the guy opening my account could've done a price adjustment... no need for all the time, gas, toll & parking x 2?!; P
Oh well! It was an amazing deal & I enjoy my new non-stick Circulon & bonuses! But I'm Still looking for 10/18 SS fry pan for a good price
These thugs are trying to stifle free speech. They have included non-disparagement language in their ToS that effectively says, "No matter how badly we screw you over, you can't say anything about it publicly. If you do, we will fine you $3500 and put a ding on your credit score." The only kind of company that would even think of putting that kind of language in their ToS, let along ENFORCING IT, is a company that OUT TO RIP CUSTOMERS OFF. Avoid at all costs!
The store is being liquidated but they are selling items at a higher price than the stores that are NOT closing. I purchased an item at Macy's Eastland Mall and ended up paying $50 more than if I had walked into a Macy's that's not closing. Keep in mind, items purchased here are final sale, no refunds, no price adjustments. I took my chances in reaching out to corporate for an explanation as to how there could be such a huge price difference. After jumping through many hoops looking for an answer I was told that the "liquidators set their own prices" and there is nothing they can do because they can't make adjustments. From that I asked if they would be willing to meet me half way and consider giving me a $25 gift card in good faith and to insure they keep a loyal customer. The answer was no! I have shopped at Macy's for many many years but I am officially done! It is very disheartening to know that they are taking advantage of customers who frequent this location, which happens to be in a highly populated urban area. Macy's stores in the tri-county area that are in the suburban cities are paying less. Be wise and spend your hard earned dollars at stores who appreciate their customers unlike Macy's.
