I have had 3 amortization schedules sent to me in the past 3 year and the principal and interest payments applied each month on auto-pay NEVER match those schedules. You cannot pay extra on principal unless you time it for just a few hours before the autopay processes. Otherwise they apply interest to the extra payment.

App does not sync accounting well with third parties that After Pay is associated with, such as Amazon.com. I was given a $200 limit and was never able to buy more that $38.96 from Amazon and I paid it the same day hoping to delete the flawed app from my phone, but it shows I have a balance and will not give me any details. I was finally able to get someone in the app support chat and they would not provide me with any details as to why I have a balance. They flat out just quit responding to my chat and there is nothing you can do. I would stay away from the app!

Afterpay will steal your money and ADMITN IT if you do not recieve an item or return an item. They will simply take both your money and the money from the merchant - double the profit.
These guys are just money hungry bustards with absolutely no care factor or loyalty to thier customers what so ever. You cam be a loyal customer for years with perfect payments and when something goes wrong by accident they will.just cut you off for 12months without a care in the world which makes you feel used and unimportant to the company even.though you were probably a customer who helped build the company to where it is today. They don't give a $#*! about thier customers and they don't deserve customers full stop.
Used afterpay five times and paid all orders quickly and before the due dates. Now Everytime I place an order it is denied. They send an email claiming my credit score however they insist they do not check credit scores. Trying another service who treats good customers fair.
The customer service for this company sucks trying to get a hold of them is a pain in the $#*!. We have to go through the app messaging him back-and-forth. They never respond when they said he do. It takes almost 10 hours or 24 hours for them to respond and there's no number to call them so if they call you, you cannot call them back, this is a messed up
Once upon a time this app was great. I built up over $1,300 in available spend and never had any issues…until I did. There was fraud on my card, I had to change my number, which I alerted them of and yet still I was assessed 2 LATE PAYMENTS regardless of the situation. For this they TOOK AWAY ALL of my available spend. A year later it's back to over $1,000 and now any purchases I attempt to make are being declined with zero reason given. (I only have 3 open orders for barely over $200 so that's not the issue.) Meanwhile I've never had one issue using Sezzle and your available spend grows far faster, don't bother with Afterpay, it's almost useless now. That's a screenshot from today and I cannot place an order with them. 😂😂🤷
The concept and app is self is much as expected. Errors here and there, nothing that should not be unable to be corrected. The issue you run into is how very literally subpar their customer service is. They're lazy, rude, and incompetent. They do not know how to do their jobs. I heard this from many people and stupidly ignored them. Please don't shop there, you'll regret it.
I returned 2items and they're still charging me. I sent my receipts of the returned purchases. It's difficult to get help or have a conversation with a real person. You chat with a machine that can't answer unscripted questions...

I've been a loyal Afterpay customer for years, always paying on time or ahead of schedule, and worked my way up to a decent spending limit. However, my recent experience has completely shattered my trust in this company.
I entered into a payment plan after being laid off from work, and despite making every payment on time and paying off the balance within just two weeks longer than the original order timeframe, Afterpay slashed my spending limit by 90%. All I needed was a slight extension to streamline my payments, and I managed to pay everything off in good faith—yet, they still punished me by gutting my limit.
What's even more infuriating is seeing how others who missed multiple payments or entered several payment plans in the same year had no real impact on their spending limits. Afterpay clearly picks and chooses who to penalize, and their so-called "responsible spending" rules are inconsistently applied. It's obvious there's no fairness here.
My advice? Do NOT enter a payment plan or hardship arrangement with Afterpay. Let your payments go late if you have to and pay them at your convenience. You'll likely be treated better than if you tried to work things out with them like I did. Based on my experience, they don't reward responsible behavior—if anything, they punish it.
I was laid off, picked up a second job, and paid every 2 weeks to honor my payments, and yet, Afterpay ruined my financial flexibility. They didn't even offer a compromise, like cutting my limit in half, which would have at least allowed me to get to work. Instead, they wiped out 90% of my limit, leaving me with nothing.
This company pretends to care about its customers, but their practices are shady and unethical. I may dispute my payments and will be posting this review everywhere I can to make sure others know what they're getting into. Don't trust Afterpay to have your back. They pick and choose who they help, and if you're in a tough spot, they may just leave you hanging.
So the reason I'm giving him such a bad review when I used to love them. They used to be loyal to their customers. There was a couple times their system was down when my payment was due so they took my credit but gave it back because of system error. Second time it happened they took my credit away and wouldn't give it back so I declined to make the rest of my payments. As soon as I messaged them they told me they would give it back if I made my payment in full. So I did and instead of giving me back my $800 credit limit they gave me $50 and said that I could work my way back up to $800 even though they promise to give it back once payment was in full. They used to be a great loyal company but whatever is going on over there now they have become garbage
I ordered a pair of shoes from Hoka. Immediately after the order was processed I cancelled it because it was a wide width. I then reordered the shoe in the correct width. I used Afterpay. Even though I have sent Three communication from Hoka to Afterpay, Afterpay refuses to refund my money. Hoka never received any money because the order was cancelled. Afterpay closed one dispute, I've opened another one. Afterpay has NO TELEPHONE NUMBER to contact them. I can only say they're a very poor company to try to resolve issues. I'll never use them again. At this point, they have $189 of my money and refuse to return it.
I purchased two separate items. Made 2 payments, then my sign on information didn't work.
I emailed a week before payment for one item was due asking for help, no response. Their email service says not to continually email as it won't help. My second payment came due and I emailed again, still no response. In panic, i email again. They were sure to send me notice saying I was late. I've emailed 3 times now, still no response. I've looked every where for an actual # to call. Nothing. The idea of this service is great, but it only works if both parties are responsive!
So I wait, let them say I need to pay the late fees.
The customer service here is useless just using all the "canned responses" and doesn't really understand how to reply on inquiries. Its true you get to save money for not paying in full, but when you do return or refund they wont give your money back. They charged me twice and did not do any refund even if I don't have the item! Such a scam!
I've been using after pay for a few months with out any problems. Then out of nowhere they froze my account. When I reach out to see what the problem was they were requesting that I send though email a copy of my license or passport and several bank statements to prove that payments were made. I believe they were trying to collect my information because they would know that all payments have been received on time using they same card. This is how identity theft starts.
Have gone back and fourth multiple time to these people about a refund of a payment i made. They say it takes 10 working business days for the payment to clear. It has now been over 10 business days and I still haven't received a refund. They have incompetent staff working who don't look into queries properly, just fob you off with excuses. Usually had good experiences using this site, not anymore. No phone number to call either to explain your situation either.
I have never been late on a payment but because I requested a refund on items I purchased that did not fit and was returned. They took my 1,000 limit down to $200 and when ask they said payment history I had them since 2019 never missed a payment or had an issue. They send generated email as a reply instead of researching the account this system is ran by an computer system and non run properly.
I will no longer be using this site and will find another site that has better customer service.

Received and return product upon picking up from door step and now I'm furious because afterpay is telling me to get with merchant and merchant is saying this is an after pay issue! No one is helping and could care less! They are continuing to pull funds for merchandise that I've not had possession for over a week! Worse site ever

Answer: When afterpay DOES work, it VERY handy and helps out ALOT especially once you DO get to the MINT. As long as you don't have any issues or questions(which, there's USUALLY an issue with shipping or something that SAYS you can use afterpay or its ON afterpay, but you STILL can't purchase it with afterpay). Everything I HAVE received, was VERY GOOD quality.
