Look at their BBB ratings to get a sense of the way they talk to people. Their CSM are the most arrogant, obnoxious, and self-righteous people they could hire. This is phony corporate marketing disguised as geek fandom. I guarantee these rude morons managing customer service couldn't even identify half the crap in their crates.
Bottom line is the content is pretty good, but customer service is bad and to me, makes it absolutely not worth it to work with this company.
I bought 2 3-month gift subscriptions for my nephews, where I wanted the first crate delivered to me, and then the remaining crates delivered directly to them. Due to a mistake on their end, they sent the 2nd crate to me (even though I changed the shipping address before their deadline). It took weeks for them to agree to send out two new crates to the correct addresses - and when the time came to send them out, they only sent out shipping confirmation for one. I had to follow up, again, to find out where the second crate was.
The response times are really slow - when I first contacted them, it would take 24+ hours to answer email. It look 3 days before I received a response on my last email. They don't offer phone support. I originally contacted them at the end of October asking them to send out new crates. It is now the end of December and my issue was finally resolved where they basically skipped October completely, and sent out a December crate instead.
I've used a lot of subscription boxes (birchbox, posh pak, fancy) all with circumstances that required a fair bit of communication and assistance, and lootcrate is behind on what appears to be standard for customer service for this industry. Not worth it - go with someone else.
Overall very pleased with the items lootcrate ships. The all seem to be within the theme, and they are quality items. The shirts are garbage, very cheap material used, but the rest is above what i expected, even the box it comes in is well designed... seriously.

Answer: If you look at the good reviews, they are from 2014. This company has gone way down since then. Now they just take your money and never ship. I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business soon.
Answer: What ever you do, go to your bank account close it, and reopen a new one in your name, that literally seems to be the only way for you to escape their stealing scams. Stay AWAY from them!
Answer: Just accept the loss. It will take weeks to even get a response forom customer service and you will end up with an excuse, expense of returning what you have and will either 1) get two more wrong items after several more weeks, 2) never receive the exchange items at all or 3) get a refund if they are threatened with a PayPal claim.
Answer: Do not buy them here. It takes over a month to receive anything. What you receive will be wrong. Customer service takes weeks to respond. Dissatisfied customers are always selling Crate items on eBay. Best it get them that way.
Answer: Don't order it! Other reviewers are saying that once you cancel it auto renews automatically. Cancelling subscriptions seems to be next to impossible!
