*** DO NOT BUY ***
April 24, 2016

Bought 2 loot crates. Bought the 1st loot crate because the company went nuts advertising Batman vs. Superman in the March 2016 loot crate. When I received my loot crate I got a whole bunch of crap related to Alien vs. Predator and other non versus related items that were very cheap quality and useless. I only received a cheap paper Batman vs. Superman wallet. Being the nice guy that I am, I decided to try it one more time and give Loot Crate a second chance. Biggest mistake, the company went nuts on advertising Harry Potter in April 2016 loot crate, all I received were Harry Potter socks. Are you kidding me, Loot Crate is a bust and not worth more than $9.99. Stay away at all cost and be disappointed.

Aside from the obvious issue of you basically subscribing to lots of crap you will one day have to move being sent to your house, canceling the sub is incredibly difficult and it feels like they know that and purposefully do it ti get more money. People are greedy who knew.

Don't buy their subscription... better to buy beaver pelts at the swap meet, or gravel and broken glass to gargle with than waste your money on this giant heap a bleu cheese. All you'll get in the mail in their box is Frankenstein's underwear with skid marks on them

I bought in for a year subscription with a discount code (come to find out they have partnered with many sites so their normal subscription rate makes their discount codes seem like a deal) on nothing more than a whim. It's just extremely small (despite ordering the largest they offer) and thin t-shirts with the occasional Pop type figure. I now have a stack of lootcrate boxes full of stuff that I can't even give away. I didn't have an issue canceling as many have noted though.

Don't Subscribe
March 8, 2016

Company will not let you cancel subscriptions. There is no way to cancel on their website and the only way to contact them is by email. When you try to cancel they tell you they are experiencing high volume and will get to as quickly as possible, but if you ask them any other question not related to cancelations they will get back to you immediately.
I would recommend you avoid this company at all cost as it is a scam, any company that will not refund or cancel services is by definition a crooked company.

SCAM SCAM SCAM
March 4, 2016

So my kids convinced to get this $#*!ty subscription and I did. We went 6 months for useless piece of $#*!, I was busy and did not have time to cancel after 3 months. That's how I got to 6 months. Feb 6, I cancelled it. Feb 22 got reactivated again. Then I cancelled it again Feb 22,2 days later Feb 24, account was Active again. WTF! Both cancellation and reactivation sent to my inbox so I got all. I am really really upset! Guys, buy your kids stuff from eBay or Amazon well worth it. Don't try this nonsense super scammer trick. Enough!

Too bad, I can't even leave ZERO star.

My review is for the monthly subscriptions. Overall the loot you receive is pretty cool and I had no bad things to say about that.

What's the point of buying a 3 month subscription if they are going to charge you after those three months are up?
Basically you have to log into your account and cancel the subscription or else theyre going to keep charging you again! That's solely the reason why Im not considering getting lootcrates in the future!

I purchased the Invasion crate about 4-5 weeks ago... arrived today 11-2-2016

The Crate itself looked like it had been used as a football, all bash in etc, luckily the contents didn't seem to be damaged.

The Items are of poor and cheap construction, the T-Shirt is made of thin material that won't last long, the torch LED's look like they was fitted by blind person, off centre and wonky, Multipass looks crap no good to have on show, The prints look ok.

The best items are the Little Alien soft toy and small Space invader model, but again the quality lets them down, the Space invaders finish is all patchy and grainy and the Alien soft toy as pulled threads all over it!

So my advice is DON'T BOTHER! Its not worth it!

ALOAD OF CHEAP CHINESE CRAP!

I initially subscribed because of the recent transformers movie that came out back in summer 2014. I thought getting a neat shirt and some cool stuff each month sounded very appealing. Then there were a few months where the boxes came with a bunch of useless crap that I had no need nor interest in. I stayed a few months longer until i realized i was just throwing $20 away each month for stuff i would have enjoyed when i was younger.

If there were a way to customize what you're interested in so you can get stuff you actually want, I may check it out in the future.

Very cool service nonetheless, just not for everyone.

Happy With LootCrate
January 6, 2016

I signed up and have been receiving loot crates since July 2015. I have never had an issue with receiving a late loot crate or missing crates. All of the product in the crates arrive in perfect condition.
Not every crate has super awesome things in them, I will say that. Loot Crate does announce a theme for each box so you can decide to get that box or skip it. Mostly the disappointment comes from not being interested in the theme enough to appreciate the products in a particular crate, but that's not Loot Crates fault, I have the option to skip if I want to.

To address some of the negative comments - All of the subscriptions auto-renew, meaning that once you sign up you will automatically be charged on the 5th of each month for that months crate. There is no scam, it was pretty clear when I signed up it would auto-renew. Also if you log into your account, under manage account and then under your credit card information, there is a cancel subscription button. Be mindful though that if you only want to get a particular month you will want to cancel before the 5th of the next month so that you are not charged. You will be charged automatically the first time you sign up so you may just want to wait a couple a days and then cancel if you just want one month with no auto-renew.

As far as customer service, I will say I have not received a shipment confirmation from them since I signed up. I have seen this complaint show up on social media sites, so I know this is a known issue. I would like to see them get that straightened out so that you know if your crate has actually shipped. You also cannot see the tracking number on their site under your account info for the latest shipped crate, only the tracking info for the first crate you received. I did send and email to customer service to address this and got an automated response that they can take up to 48 hours to respond to an email and today I got an email stating they they were backlogged with issues and that it may take a little longer and then pointed me to the FAQ to see if that answered my question, which is a little silly because I already went through the FAQ before sending them an email.

But overall, I think this is a good box for 20 and 30 - somethings, since these items are mostly little collectibles and baubles to put on your desk, there are some kid type stuff, but it's mostly for adults. And they do have a theme that will help you decide if you want a crate or not. Little kids, maybe not so much, but there are other boxes such as Nerd Block Jr that may suite the under 12.

I ordered a 3 month subscription early December - the 6th to be exact -- but still have not received any lootcrate, nor any email showing one was shipped to me. I have tried to email "customer service" three times and only got one reply 4 days after the first email saying it will be shipped at end of the week but that date has come and gone. What the heck? Can't find a number to call anyone. Seems like they got my loot and I got no crate. They even cited in the email that my 3 month subscription will be renewed in March. That means I am supposed to get Dec, Jan and Feb crates... but here we are Jan 6th and there is no reply to indicate where my Dec crate is. Huh? Losing my faith in this operation.
Sad to have to write this review because I really thought the Loot Crate was an awesome idea! Now all I have is a sad 10 year old who asks about his loot crate every day.

I basically signed up for Dr. Who stuff... They offered a Dr. Who Crate and sold out very quickly before I had a chance to order.

So they have as many Star Wars and other crates as they can sell (They have been offered for over a month) but the one I want is limited "For Exclusivity"

So if they cant get me what i want, I am getting a box of junk (and getting worse by the month) I have no use. I am stuck for another 6 months but have already cancelled so I wont be automatically charged again.

Do yourself a favor and save the money and buy yourself something you really want, not some stupid plastic TMNT shredder glasses...

Not worth it!
December 22, 2015

I am a new monthly subscriber (not for much longer) and also purchased $100 Star Wars Limited Edition loot crate. Aside from being unimpressed the customer service is aweful. We received our SW loot crate early December. Upon opening the box before wrappingbitbfor mybteen sons Christmas gift I noticed the coffee mug was broken. I looked on line to get contact info as there wasn't any listed in the box. December 17 I contacted the company via e mail as this was the only means to do so. A rep named Monica asked me to send a pic of the broken item. I did so immediately. She replied the following day stating that she was unable to open the jpg. She asked that it be sent again. At this time I was worried that my son would not get the replacement in time for Christmas. I resent the pic. But did not receive a reply. As I later found out they do not have support available on weekends or after hours. I also left a message on FB about it and in frustration stated that I needed a response within the hour or I would consider cancelling my subscription. The person that replied on FB hashtagged me "imagur". Real mature, right!? No support/direction was offerred. Finally I get an e mail today after three more attempts to submit my request. The rep responding felt the need to mention my " 40 minute cancellation statement" and included instructions on how to 'unsubscribe' despite my not requesting the instructions. Additionally adding that loot crate does not work 24/7 at this time. I wrote back starring that loot crate offers nothing of necessity and should practice better customer service as there are other companies out there that offer the same service but are not rude. I am also a geek fuel subscribers and have not had this issue with them! So done with snotty 20 something two bit business habits! Unsubscribe in 3-2-1!

Stay away!
December 22, 2015

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Once you sign up they have you hooked. There seems to be no way to cancel you subscription, only a number to call (no one to talk to) and leave a message. Our order was cancelled the first of Oct. We have received a box in late Oct. Nov. And Dec. All the boxes were refused and sent back unopened yet they still send them. Stay Away!

There was a month inwhich i truly was intreseted in, so I bought a one month subscrinption. I then attempted to make sure it was canceled, I checked the website and couldn't see a cancel button anywhere. Due this I persurmed it's because I only got a month.

The new month came by and I had not the money in my bank so it didn't come out. At this point I contacted a member of staff to ensure it was canceled it was then canceled. A month later money came out of my bank, it was another loot create. I got in touch with loot crate told them to cancel it and that they had taken my money. They claimed the money wasn't in their posseion and the bank was holding it and it would return to me within 5 working days. Around 9 days later I wrote back saying how I rung my bank and that they didn't hold my money. Loot crate replied telling me there was nothing they could do and I won't be getting a refund or a crate. I am now out of pocket and quite annoyed.

Loot crate barely has crates worth the price, once every few months you will find an okay crate. At the risk of being scammed I would advise no one used their service. Luckily it wasn't more money and was just one month.

What a ripoff! I made a purchase October 16th for ONE MONTH. They apparently then charged my debit card AGAIN on November 6th for another month saying I was auto enrolled in a subscription! This resulted in a $36 NSF fee.

When I contacted them, they blamed ME for "not understanding" how their website works AND REFUSED to cancel the order AND said if I wanted to return the order after I receive it, I have to PAY for return shipping AND only get a PARTIAL refund for the box. They said I needed to cancel "48 hours before they charge me." Well how was I supposed to know they were going to charge me two weeks after my ONE MONTH order? I don't have a #&$ time machine!

What the ever-loving #&$ is that kind of attitude? You charge me for something I did not order, won't cancel and then victim blame me?

Disgusting. Absolutely revolting customer service. I'm disputing this charge with my bank.

In the October 2015 box was a Bill and Ted shirt, which was cool, albeit the coolest thing in the box. It was labeled as a men's large, which is my preference. However, the shirt fits like a small and when held up to a large shirt, is in fact a men's small (in comparison). Loot crate has told me that I chose the wrong shirt size and that was my fault. They want me to pay return shipping to get the proper size shirt. What!?! A men's large is my proper size shirt, how in the world would I know my shirt size if in your eyes a men's large is actually a small. They have yet to resolve my issue and refuse to accept any wrong in sending me a mislabeled item.

Loot Crate is a $19.95 (including $6 shipping) monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. The boxes are themed and it includes things like collectibles, t-shirts, buttons, and stickers. Recent themes have been: Cyber, Unite, Fantasy, Covert and Play. The last 3 themes have really been a miss for us, but we expect July's theme, Heroes 2, to be a better fit for our house. (Loot Crate's Aug. 2014 box theme was Heroes, which we really liked).
It seems like recently a lot of the items are Loot Crate exclusives, so it is often hard to price out. I also feel that the boxes now include a lot of small junk items instead of fewer quality items we used to receive. However my son still enjoys receiving this box, so I think we'll continue our subscription for a couple more months to see if it improves. Although I will say that we recently subscribed to Sports Crate which quickly became my husband and son's favorite subscription box.

I had a 6 month subscription and it would've got more enjoyment flushing cash down the toilet. Crates are full of useless things that look like they were from the dollar store. Had several items come broken and ripped, and one shirt came in wrong gender and this turd company wants me to pay money to send the junk back to them?

Twice out of 6 months they didn't send me a crate, I had to jump through their ridiculous customer support in order to get replacements.

Stay Away! I'd give a 0 if I could.
