4th and last time. A couple bad engines and a dropped order with ZERO communication that the part wasn't coming. Last straw? A transmission that was a week late shows up literally rolling around the back of a box truck not tied down to the pallet. Torque converter shaft all dinged up and the case cracked. That's what shows up after almost two weeks. LKQ USED to be the place to go. Now... do yourself a favor and just don't do it. It's just THAT bad these days. They don't check, test or even care.
I purchased a hybrid battery from LKQ, and they force me to leave a core deposit for $300. My mechanic installed the battery, and the old battery has been at the mechanic shop for ten days waiting for LKQ to pick up the battery. I called multiple times to customer service about the return of my $300, and they keep promising me that they will pick it up the next day. I am like most Americans, I have a budget and I need to use that $300 for other life expenses. Yes, the parts are less expensive as a new part, but they need to greatly improve customer service!
Purchased an alternator for my Ford 500. Gave out in under 2 weeks. Had to walk 3 miles with my 2yo to find a house to call for a tow on July 4th, expensive to say the least. They sent me another alternator and told me that I should have it tested before putting it in my vehicle. After being on hold for 45 mins the whole time being told about their "quality" parts. Now as a single mother of 3 have a $600 bill for tows and getting another one put in. Was told to call back and they would compensate me. All they did was laugh after transferring me 4 times and then hung up. Thanks LKQ for your quality service!
With this many bad reviews, I don't know how company is still in business! I still haven't gotten my power steering rack today was supposed to be the last estimated date for me to receive it. I now just got confirmation that it was just shipped eight days later it had just been shipped! Once again. I find it odd that a company like this is still in business. What has the world come to?
I had to pull 3 transmission out cause they where all bad and the warranty starts with the first one I bought so now I'm stuck with the 3rd transmission and going with the same warranty with first one witch is sad I wouldn't recommend transmission there!
Sucks service, hang up on me few times. Transfer me 5 times to get to the right person. Crappy service, people working there not professional. Don't ship parts, they want you call nearest LKQ junk yard, my nearest LKQ is 160 miles away. Stupidest yard ever i see. Never want to do business with LKQ. Iam still on hold for 30 minutes.
The worst customer service ever! I understand this is just a junkyard but when you are looking for a specific part that you can't find you get the run around. Was given a number to call at the Lake City LKQ for a part they didn't have in Gainesville. No one answers the phone there and after leaving 3 messages I finally gave up and asked the Gainesville location to order it from Lake City for me, they said they can't do that.
So they will be more than happy to take your money for parts in their yard but forget trying to get this business to actually help the customer get the part needed from one of their other locations. CROOKED!
Don't have business with this company. I paid for shipping but they didn't provide me with the tracking number. When I got the item it was wrong. They will never answer the phone. It a $#*! company and people who work there are so.
Don't buy anything from them. Never never.
Purchased from this vendor a couple times. The first time they sent wrong part, but did send the right one when we contacted them. On my second order, they again sent wrong part. This time their response was for me to re-order it and then wanted me to pay for shipping to return the wrong part they sent me. Very dishonest and very unethical. Please help me put these people out of business. They are crooked.
I purchased a engine. Paid extra 300$ for a labor warranty.
We installed the motor. Filled it with fluids, discovered that the engine block was cracked.
Called (Albert Goldy) the sales man back. Explained the problem. Asked about the labor warranty.
His exact words. Sorry the powers above me said they decided not to honor the warranty.
Pull the motor out tomorrow and we will pick it up.
I said this is crazy. I have the warranty written on the bill. He's said sorry, and hung up.
So I stopped payment on the check. Then I spent 400$ with a lawyer to sue these evil people.
Got an engine for 2016 cruze. Engine arrived quickly but after install was worse than one replaced. Luckily I used a certified mechanic if done by buyer the warranty was void. They sent a replacement and told to junk the first engine. However, the clincher is I had to pay for two installations and they don't cover labor for the first crap they send you. Bad experience.
I am an auto shop owner. Have been in business for 37 years. I called to order a Subaru automatic transmission. I offered to give the salesman the transmission application "tag" number from the existing transmission as well as from the car. He said he did not need it. I paid for and received a transmission that on the surface seemed fine. After installing it, it became clear that it was in fact the wrong transmission.
LKQ refused to make any effort to get me the proper transmission, even though they had access to one for slightly more money. They refused to admit the mistake and send me the correct transmission at no increased charge.
Incompetent, unprofessional and in fact dishonest. I will never do business with LKQ again. I will never recommend them to anyone again.
Brand new engine has tap. They said they would warranty the labor for having to re-install. Would not give me an explanation did they install a old pan and run the engine? No, they didn't because if they would head they would be able to hear the engine noise. I would not buy nothing from them, and I will not buy anything else from them myself.
Specifically the Erdman Ave yard. The cashier was extremely rude and had absolutely no customer service skills. She charged us a 90 dar warranty fee on an armrest, mirrors and then charged us for the rim and tire when the tire was clearly sliced and there are no signs saying anything about removing the tire. I assumed that it was not necessary being as though it was sliced completely. After inspection of the reciept she removed the 90 day warranty fee which was a quarter of the bill itself but refused to take the 22 dollar fee of the sliced tire off. She and her manager stated that since they removed the warranty 10 seconds before then it was "company policy" that they rip us off for the tire. And the "environmental fee". What is this? They didn't dispose of anything so that's just to pay the rude cashier I assume.
Drove to Hutchins location 4 times which is hour round trip because of wrong part, Burleson location once after being told there best guy checked the rim size before I drove two hours round trip for nothing. Never again. One star because I have to
I looked at the website to order replacement bumper parts for my wife's Nissan but it was too expensive for shipping. However the next day I called and spoke with Nathan and he was very helpful.
The parts were from a car in Maine and I was in Massachusetts. He was great getting the parts delivered to their facility close to my address for a small fee.
I am happy to say I picked up the parts right when they said they would be there and I was very happy with the parts and the overall experience.
Thanks Nathan and LKQ.
Will definitely do business with them in the future.
It's been a while since I have been to lkq. I figured go and pick some parts to fix my son's vehicle. Checked online for what it would roundabout cost for what parts I needed. Go to the location in Greer SC and picked parts that I needed. Go to the register and they ring up parts, they were over than what was showing online. Questioned them about the price difference and employee said that is what the parts cost. They scanned my card and when I got the receipt. Who would have thought, charged an extra $61 for 90 day warranty. Told them that I didn't ask for that and wanted my money back. They refused and told me that they couldn't refund my money for the warranty. Tried calling the corporate office and get the runaround and they will transfer to different companies. Don't mind paying for parts but do not lie and steal.
The Gainesville location has the rudest employees ever! Every time we go they change rules based on the person. Now they aren't letting you take in your own items to match up things. At least one specific employee wasn't this past weekend. There are signs all over stating let employees know if your bringing something in so they can mark it. Oh and the mask situation, they're a bit ridiculous about it too. It's an outside establishment. Not to mention, half the time the employees don't have a mask on or it's down on their chin. I won't be going back anymore, that's for sure!
I searched and searched for 6.0L Diesel engine for a customer. Every time they "Found" one in inventory, the price went higher and higher. We reclunctantly agreed to $3200 for a used engine. What I received would have cost me an additional 2k in upgrades, and repairs to make a usable engine. The exhaust manifolds were rusted so bad you could not remove them, the intake was for an older model, every sensor was cracked from the brutal removal. Even the valve covers were rusting thru. Luckily we figured this out within 15 minutes of delivery. We called for driver to come back and pick it up, they ignored all our calls, when they did answer, they said they have to cash my check, and come back in three or four days. Tying my hands from doing anything until they stop holding my money hostage.
Selling a car to LKQ is very easy but there are a few things they do not tell you when they quote the value of your car. First, you will be charged for towing a car to their lot if the car is not running and it will come off the initial quote. Second, if your car has any rust on it, that is considered damage and the quoted price will go down depending on how bad the problem is. The overall experience with them was good, not great but served the purpose it was meant to.
Answer: My mechanic recommended them. He is no longer using them either due to problems with parts he's received...
