I PURCHASED A TRANSMISSION FROM THEM FOR A 2011 BMW 740I. AFTER REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, THE TORK CONVERTER WAS MAKING A LOUD WHINING NOISE. I CALLED AND MADE CLAIM TO GET A REPLACEMENT. THEY DENIED THE CLAIM BECAUSE APARENTLY I WAS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THE OIL PAN. NOW, WHY WOULD I NEED TO REPLACE THE OIL PAN ON A PERFECRLY GOOD WORKING TRANSMISSION? I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM EVER AGAIN. THEY LOST MY BUSINESS. KEEP IN MIND THIS WAS NOT A CHEAP TRANSMISSION I PURCHASED. IT COSTED ME $2700
Took my truck into shop, it was running but we determined that it needed new motor, Shop ordered from LKQ and so the nightmare begins.
Less than a week into driving the new motor, driving bad, making noises etc; so back to the shop and we discover the oil pan is full of chunks of metal. Its still under warranty Ive paid a ton for the motor and install by a master mechanic and LKQ has been a pain in the butt. Not wanting to honor warranty, making shop jump thru hoops, ect and finally authorized return after months of this. Its returned, they have it, and "The check is in the mail" - thats a lie, its been weeks since the parts manager received that call.
My mechanic has not been paid for having to removing the motor and hoop jumping. None of us has been refunded for a crappy motor, the core, the fortune paid to install, removal, hours of phone calls, months without my truck; NOTHING!
Every aspect has been a nightmare and its not over yet! 6 MONTHS... AGGHHH
Bought a used battery from the Bradenton, Florida LKQ. They pointed to which ones were the "good ones" Yeah... the battery is worse than the one I had. Got it home, put it in and NOTHING! It wouldn't even take a jump and discovered that there is a patched hole on the side of it!. Apparently they don't check the batteries first before they sell them and it was a HUGE waste of my time. Taking it back in the morning. I am only giving a 1 star because I have to.
Walked around to look for a matching hubcap...didnt find it but found 4 matching of a diff style.the young lady at the cash register was charging me 43 bucks.over priced.you get them cheaper new. And you dont have to sort through trash piles. This was the one near hwy 45 and west road. I gave one star just so that I can do this review, or else It wont let me.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. LANESSA NUNLEY is the worst person to speak with when you are dealing with billing she does not care what you have to say she is no help. This whole company is a huge scam. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE I asked for my full balance in order to close the account had that paid in order to cancelled and all of a sudden I receive another invoice two months later. Apparently it was not included. They definintely lost a loyal customer of 10 years.
I honestly believe every negative review on here for the simple fact that I too had a horrible experience with LKQ. Bought a used motor that only worked for 3 weeks and then had me and my 2 kids back on the side of the road at square one! Why they would sell bad engines and parts to unsuspecting hardworking Americans, is beyond me! And then the sheer audacity that they would not be ashamed to operate the entire business this way is nothing short of thievery. How dare they take advantage of people so readily. It's really sad and hurtful to people that actually work for their money and depend on the parts for transportation. God sees ALL things and this is no different. I wish I could undo this mistake and I hope to help others avoid making the same one in their future. If I could give a zero star rating, I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD! And I will be very sure to let anyone looking for parts know about my experience as well as refer them to look up reviews for this company beforehand.
Bought what I thought was a reman engine looked good mechanic installed engine had problems from day one had a slate knock called LKQ spoke to Jason he said drive it and keep an eye on oil pressure noise got worse. Mechanic said sounds like lifters. Per Jason with LKQ replace lifters, when broke down had 3 rockers, 3 lifters bad and 2 bent push rods, was told to have parts replaced and would get reimbursed engine ran worse mechanic said engine didn't look new. Had to wait forever to get money back and didn't get all my money. Finally they sent me another engine Mark with LKQ said would get reimburse for engine replacement it is covered under warranty after I sent engine back after about 30 days they said it was my fault engine failed refused to reimburse me for cost of having engine replaced. Screw LKQ only had engine a couple months I would never buy another thing from them called Corporate several times left message never heard anything back from them I give them a negative 10
I was charged for a part I ordered the same day i ordered it and given an estimated shipping date of 1 week later. I inquired twice about where it was after tracking it. 7 days after the arrival date I received a message that it was lost in transit! I am reporting this company to the BBB.
Go see Tony *******@LKQ in Lansing, IL. I bought C12 Caterpillar engine from him and its still running strong 8 months in. My business partner bought a fuel injection pump and a turbo. He a good dude and really easy to work with. He only works with trucks so you car guys will have to find a different person to help yall..
Got motor for a ford explor was badly damage, wires were cut off partes damage when they pulled it out. Call them and got 150.$ credit but it cost me about 400 $ to repair it, and over a week of work do repaires befor try to put it in the car not very happy! Not a good buy.
I purchased a Honda engine from LKQ and I even purchased their warranty. They shipped me an engine with oil pressure problems after one year of the constant undermining the three shops including a Honda dealership my conclusion has been to purchase another engine from another manufacturer as LKQ is probably the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. They might have well just stolen the $3500 from me. This engine has been disassembled by the Honda dealership with findings of the wrong parts used in the assembly and metal in the oil pan.
I ordered a motor for my 2011 Volvo xc90 for $1060 with 106k miles on it. It didn't pass the test. Looking at all the horrible reviews with this company I thought I would be writing a bad review as well... They approved another motor with 108k miles on it. Tested it and sent it right way. To my surprise it was a great motor fit well and run like new. Me and my mechanic was in shock. The process and part to ship took less than two weeks. Now I'm rolling and very happy. 5 stars from me. I highly recommend no matter these other reviews. I
I ordered a 2.0L engine for a 2016 Hyundai Tucson on 06/22/23. It finally arrived 07/11/23 and to my surprise it was a 1.4L engine for a Buick Encore. The LKQ receipt which was correct read 2.0L 2016 Hyundai Tucson indicating no mistakes on my end. Now I have to ship it back and hope I get the 3900.00 credit back on my CC?
This place is a fraud, they steal your money to get in, the vehicle you looked up online that shows its there is not there. Will not give you your entrance fee back, called there cooperate they said owell. If you steal from them you go to jail, if they steal from you doesn't matter
I rebuild cars and everyday I go to salvage yard for parts I use to go to u pick a part but stopped going because they add warranty if you decline get ready for attitude and there is one guy especially he calls himself Juan is extremely rude person I can clearly see tremendous decline in their business
I was hired 06/23/21 and walked into the store having a labor claim, on going with ATK for a transmission that had been going on for over a year and I had to call daily to get closed out. Since then I have ordered 7 engine/transmissions, 2 canceled and returned, 1 was the wrong engine for that vehicle which made a claim, 1 no problem and 3 did not run. I only filed claims on 2 of the engines that didn't start due to one being a backyard individual and he just sold the truck to get his money back BUT I did file claims on the two that were through my shops. After 6 to 8 months of calls, paperwork, following tech diagnosis ATK/LKQ finally paid one shop and denied the other.
Soooooooo 7 purchased, 2 canceled, 5 sold, 3 bad parts = 60% chance the engine/transmission will be a bad part and have to file a claim that takes up to six months and many hours of everyone time to have 50% chance denied. NOT GOOD ODDS!
(trying to add proof of sale of these 7 engines/transmission but wont up load)
I bought an Reman ATK Engine for a 2007 Jeep Liberty. Upon startup the engine had a bad vibration (at cold start).
The customer was in a rental car and had to take the car back. The Vibration got worse over the next few weeks. After a Month of driving, the Engine developed a Misfire on several cylinders. A Leak down test was performed and several cylinders had more than a 40% Variance. I called for a warranty, they made me disconnect a bunch pf stuff, including the engine mounts, torque converter bolts, belt, etc, etc. After I did all that with the same vibration, they told me the engine was covered. Then they call back the next day, saying nothing is covered and they are sending an inspector out, and we have to REDO everything AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN LKQ / ATK
This is a piece of $#*! company, they don't honor their warranty policy, and thoroughly practice shady business tactics, snake $#*!. Over $5000 down the drain. Don't waste your time.
Stay away from this company if you don't want any headaches, this company needs to be out of business, I had to cancelled a motor but I wasn't expecting to be on hold for over an hour then when some one finally answered, she hanged up on me, I've try again for another 45 minutes and finally some one was able to helped me cancelled my first and last order, I will never buy from this company again.
Terrible experience! Inferior parts and an incompetent, unethical and less than forthright Dodge dealership in Rome, Georgia. Three times LKQ shipped a rear axle and three times it was defective. Although the first line individual I spoke with there tried to help, LKQ management could have cared less. The would not issue a parts refund unless I went through the Dodge Dealer, which is three hours away. I explained the circumstances that due to the fact I should never have been aloud to drive off the lot with the first LKQ rear end, and the fact that the Dodge Service department was so terrible, still LQK sales management chose not to do the right thing. Considering LQK sent three defective rear ends, you would think they would have wanted to make up for it and do something right.
Answer: My mechanic recommended them. He is no longer using them either due to problems with parts he's received...
