Ordered an alternator that said it was from a vehicle with 45K miles. It came in with a broken mounting bolt hole, could not use. Upon calling their help line she said she would have a replacement sent out in a week. I said I wanted a replacement with comparable miles because that is why I paid up for this defective one. She said very harshly she can not guarantee any miles for the alternator, it could have 150k miles on it. I said that's not fair, the 45K mileage alternator was why I ordered that particular one. She said, sorry! I said that's false advertising she said... sorry. These guys suck. Do not buy from this company. After looking at all the other reviews I should have known better.
I bought a motor, spent 3000. 00. It immediately jumped time and messed up the motor. I took it to a shop and spent 750.00 having it looked at to find out a timing tensioner had failed. The motor is literally brand new and LKQs warranty dept has taken 2 months to. Come up with, "you will have to pay the shop to take the motor out and to have it shipped back to us so we can investigate the issue. If we fi d you are not in error we will pay the rest of the repairs up to 750.00..."
Purchased a Transfer Case w/actuator, installed 4wd flashing still not working. Ordered replacement went to pickup no actuator attached, was told by counter person actuator not included with an attitude. Accursing my sales person of including the actuator when it should not be included w/TC. She informed they have do not seller it separately. What I don't get is this is part of the transfer case assy. Then it should be included with T/C. I was told by my sales person Krystal Vieira that the actuator is not listed as a part separately and should be included, and the yards should sell them if they do not sell them separately. Now I get told the cost is double the original price quoted and charging shipping cost to ship to another LKQ location. What a awful way to run a business!
I purchased a hood for vehicle in houston LKQ at their location on Hiram Clarke and the following day as i looked at my reciept closely I noticed they charged me an extra $18.00 for a warranty so I took my reciept back for a refund and the manager said he can refund it if i bring the hood back, well the hood was already installed. Well thats the only business that i know of that automatically charges the coustomer for a warranty without asking if the coustomer wants it.
We ordered a seat belt and received a seat belt buckle. Paid $73.75. Reached back out to return the wrong item they sent us and they want to refund us only $36.35.
They are the worst! The picture misrepresented what they were selling now I have to eat the cost of their lies. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THESE THIEVES!

Local Honda dealer replaced 2013 engine with 90k miles that started having problems at 40k miles. They used a replacement engine from LKQ. Had numerous problems with it over the course of the next year and 10k miles. Finally replaced that with another engine from LKQ. Again within a few months, same problems. LKQ refused to honor their warranty and refused to make it right.
I was sent a motor from online company and they would not accept it through their verification BUT LKQ checked the motor, verified it, and the other company had to accept it! And LKQ had a better motor in their inventory! The Best!
Purchased used engine, Jaguar, had it professionally installed, Started, Engine rod knock immediately; engine junk! Called LKQ. They said pull it out and return it for refund. Asked if it was checked out before it was sold, answer... NO, the only visually inspect then sell them. They do not run or check engine out at all... THEY SOLD ME A $5,000.00 ENGINE AND NEVER ONCE DID THEY CHECK TO BE SURE THAT IT WAS GOOD! They refuse to pay for what it cost for me to have it installed and started,,,,, Told me NO WAY... NOT A CHANCE. YOU BUY FROM THEM YOU ARE TOTALLY GETTING TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS... NEVER EVERY BUY FROM LKQ... THE WORST... I have heard and read bad ratings but did not take them for their word; I should have... Now I am screwed, I have to pay the shop another $2,000.00 on top of $ 5,000.00 because these xxxx NEVER CHECKED THEIR MOTORS...!
This company is the most unorganized outfit anywhere. Hold time of at least 20 minutes and drops your order half the time.No one knows whats going on. DO NOT USE!

My ford powerstroke has been down for 7 weeks sitting in the diesel because this place has sent then 2 bad transmissions! This place is a joke! And now were still waiting for them to send a 3rd freakin transmission! I work my trucks and because of yall it's been down close to 8 weeks now! Yall have nothing but bad reviews! Yall need to get right.
After dealing with a really helpful and friendly salesperson, I found upon arrival that I had an incorrect part. I could not get tied back to my salesperson, so I had to wait in line for the next whomever. I explained that I had driiled down through the year, make, model, etc., descriptors to find the part, then picked it from the menu. The not-so-helpful CSR told me straightaway that I ordered the wrong part. In this case, there were no alternates in the case of my vehicle because there was only one occurrence of the type of part in my car, not two as the CSR indicated. He then interrupted every explanation I attempted about selecting the item, and treated me like an idiot. I retired after 56 years in the workplace dealing with customers up to government agencies without ever being treated like this person treated me. I asked him to send a return shipper because the part had no place on my vehicle, he agreed, but when I asked for residence pickup since I am handicapped, he refused. I asked to speak to his supervisor, after which he made a $#*!ty have a nice day exit and hung up on me.
This is the worst treatment I have ever experienced with a vendor. I highly recommend finding parts at a small local yard before attempting to do business with LKQ.
I ordered a starter from a 2011 Honda Civic with 59K millage and they send a starter from a 2007 honda civic with 89K millage. When I called them they don't want to admit that they did a mistake. Their customer service was very unfriendly and rough.
If you want to get mistreated, have products misrepresented, get ripped off with their warranty promises: bent over and take it like a man! This is definitely the company that will do it to you. Stay away from them if you have ANY option. 4 used engines in 1 year but 3 of them were garbage and I'm fighting for 3 months now to get paid on a warranty claim. NOT THE COMPANY THAT YOU WANT TO BUY FROM
Bunch of losers and terrible service and hidden fees not shown on website pricing, have to pay just to look in the yard, service jerks just stare at you when you walk in and when you're at the counter to pay for your parts, then they pull a price from their $#*! and if you question it they have a take it or leave it I don't give a $#*! attitude, I am describing my experience which occured at the LKQ (L $#*! Q) located at Harrison Ave in Rockford, bunch of unsupervised high school (and/or grade school) dropouts.
Bought 2 separate engine's for my 06 F150 and both went out within 2 years. The second one didn't make it 2,000 miles. Contacted LKQ warranty department and they would not honor the warranty. WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING from them again. SCAM ARRESTS.
Answer: My mechanic recommended them. He is no longer using them either due to problems with parts he's received...
