AWFUL. I bought a skydiving deal through them. I attempted 4 different times to schedule a time to jump but each time I called the location they were booked. Then they finally told me I could come the last two days of their season and see if anybody cancels last minute. I asked the guy what would happen with my deal and if they would it extend it to next year and he said no I would just lose out on my deal all together and that I should have called sooner. I have tried to contact Living Social several times but every time I call their customer service number I get hung up on after their introduction. I've emailed then numerous times with no response yet. I am currently out 125 bucks because of this. I feel if a business is going to work with Living Social they should make sure they can accommodate ever deal sold. Looks like I'll be sticking with Groupon who has a 100% guarantee or your money back. I've never had a single problem with them and even earned 80 bucks to use from referrals. Be very certain of what you are buying and that you will in fact actually be able to use it before forking up your hard earned money if you choose to use this site. They seem more into just taking your money rather then saving you some. Very, very frustrated!
I'm ALL about customer service when it comes to companies. This is by far the WORST customer service ever. The site isn't very clear on how the deal works. I referred FIVE of my friends for a good deal on I saw on the website. I didn't get a SINGLE deal buck from livingsocial. It states that I get $5 for every friend I refer, or if 3 people buy it from my link, I get the deal for free. I e-mailed them about my issue, and they just sent me a generic email back, barely answering my question. I resent ANOTHER e-mail, and they never replied. Of course, the deal was really good, I didn't wanna pass it up so I just paid the full price.
So if you want to get a free deal, don't be expecting them, their site seems glitchy, and they need to fix it. Also, the fact that when I made the purchase, I also made another purchase for my friend. Of course, they don't charge you until the deal is over. So the site said I have only purchased one deal, but I am SURE I did 2. So I had to cancel the deal, and repurchase everything. Very annoying. I would not recommend this site to anyone.
I was really disappointed, I mean, it was STILL a good deal, but they shouldn't add information on their websites about honoring a "FREE" deal, it is VERY MISLEADING! I was really choked about it. I think I would rather use dealfind because they seem like they would have better customer service.
LIVINGSOCIAL SUPPORTS BUSINESSES THAT ARE NOT LEGITIMATE/ACCEPTABLE AND REFUSE TO REFUND MONEY! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Today is the first time I have redeemed a Livingsocial Deal that I purchased and I am not happy. I have just arrived back from Jennifer Ann Spa (for a facial, massage and supposed to be haircut) in Mira Mesa California.
I am VERY disappointed in this business. It does not seem like a legitimate company. It is someone's house with children toys all over the place and pet stains all over the carpet. The service, location, property and products used were not professional. I feel like I have been ripped off $100.
The people who provided the services did not seem like they had the proper training and used unacceptable products on my face and body. My face is full of bumps, oily and red. The massage was ridiculous as the person used baby oil and focused on places on the body that just hurt instead of felt good. To top it off I left without a haircut/blowdry because at the last minute I was told that their stylist is not able to make it and I would have to reschedule. I have had professional massages and facials before and this is nothing like it and completely unacceptable. I refuse to go back to get my haircut/blowdry because I am afraid they will mess it up.
Other than their website being nice (and very misleading), JENNIFER ANN SPA (sold through www.Livingsocial.com) is a scam and you will lose your money.
I signed up for what seemed like a reasonable deal on livingsocial.com, a full "Call A Maid" housecleaning for $80, discounted from $160, according to the site. The price was based on the size of my home. There was no fine print on the receipt and the maid who came seemed very nice. I told her all things that needed doing in the house - kitchen, bathrooms, vacuum, etc. and she just nodded her head and got to work. She changed one bed, did some vacuuming and some (unnecessary) dusting, cleaned 2 small bathrooms, and said she was "done," her three hours were up! She seemed genuinely surprised that livingsocial hadn't told me it was only for three hours. Apparently Call A Maid was offering this "deal" at "half price" because it was only a three-hour cleaning! I checked back through everything; not a word about the time limit. Nor had the maid told me after I explained all the things I wanted done: not even a "you think I'm going to do all that in three hours?" Unbelievable. At least if I'd known there was a time limit, I could have told her what to do in those three hours! I called to complain and livingsocial could only give me a small voucher for their website. Since I'll never use them again, not much help.
I'm out $20. Bought a deal through living social for 4 movie tickets for $20 via Weekly Cinema. Went to redeem the tickets today at weeklycinema.com, and the site says they're "reviewing their future" and not issuing any tickets or promo codes. They're considering how to get us a refund. So, wasted time and money. Be very careful getting anything from livingsocial.com. They have no control over the validity of the offers there - so you may be getting a deal, or you may just get scammed. I won't be going back.
I have used the company deals in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Fresno, and will shortly use them in San Diego, New York, etc. So far everything worked like clockwork. Deals came through, were charged correctly and I used the vouchers with no problems at all. Overall no complaints and I hope the company grows and put Groupon out of business. Hooray for Living Social. Ed P
Absolutely ROTTEN customer service. I bought a coupon that I realized I couldn't use--they quickly agreed to refund. Awesome! I thought. Then I checked out my bank account and didn't see a refund, and I checked out my LivingSocial account and saw a $20 credit. Not so awesome, I thought, but not horrible. I emailed them and said I would prefer the $20 refunded, because that's what they said they would do. They emailed back to say they were actually refunding the $20 to my bank account, AND they were giving me $20 in LivingSocial bucks, just because. WAY AWESOME! I thought. But then the money never landed on my account. So I sent a polite email, got a nonsensical reply back (seriously nonsensical--they've outsourced their email customer service and the repliers have minimal English language ability). So I called, and was greeted by a rather rude rep who told me that the money would land in my bank account "within 10 days". I explained that it had been more than 10 days, and she said to call my bank, but it was just probably delayed. My bank definitely hadn't received any money. I know this is just $20, but it's kind of annoying me. Money never lands in my bank, so I call again. I get another rude response, and just decide to give up. So I try to use the $20 credit they give me, and it doesn't work--they charged MY BANK again. Now I'm really annoyed, and I call up the customer service rep AGAIN (this is like five emails and three or four phone calls now, I'm summarizing). I get ANOTHER rude customer service rep, who tells me that the other reps didn't know what they were talking about and that I never was getting money back in my bank account. Basically, "buzz off and stop bothering me." She said the recent transaction wouldn't actually stay on my bank account, which frankly just isn't true. I asked to speak to a manager, who (shockingly) didn't have time, so I left a loud angry message, expect no response, so I'm going to use all my coupons and deny all their charges, because they suck.
My one experience seemed to show that the deal at a local wine store was in fact a very bad deal. For $15 the deal was "$30 of wine". When you get to the store you are told the wording in the deal was wrong. You are are told you can add more money and get a better deal, get a refund of your $15 or accept the actual deal they are offering for your $15 which is: 1) a candle (not that nice), 2) a 10% discount on the next bottle of wine you buy there, 3) a pallate analysis, valued at $50 (to me the value should be $0, since it involves the kind of discussion one would have with a good sales person) and lastly, 4) a single bottle of wine from a preselected group of 6. All six were from 2 companies, none seemed be part of the store's regular stock and all could be found for $10 or less in other stores.
Worth $30?--not by a long shot. Worth $15--only if you think the candle is worth $5 or more and actually want it. This is a total "bait and switch". You can get your money back; nobody is forcing you to take this deal, but what a waste of time. Instead of making me think, "gee, I should get all my wine here", I am never going back.
I hope this is not typical of LivingSocial deals.
After the voucher came through with incorrect contact details on. I tried to contect Living Social customer service. After a few attemps where the found just rang & rang, I finally got through. The person at the other end was very rude & made me feel like I was putting her out to ask for the correct contact details for the voucher I had purchased. In the end she said she didn't know the company on the voucher & it's probably best to contact my bank as soon as possible to claim the money back.
I wanted to take advantage of their "Me & 3" promo, which states "Buy, share and if 3 friends buy, yours is free". I cohersed 3 of my friends to purchase through my referral link on facebook and purchased one myself, but they said that I used the wrong referral link, and the only way for me to get mine free was to have all 3 friends cancel their order and re-purchase them. How inconvenient is that? When I told them that this solution is way too much of a hassle, they told me there is no way to override their system and give me credit, even if I can prove that I referred them and they did purchase the deal. If their system is not flexible enough to make a simple exception, i'm not going to trust it with anything! Beware!
I purchased a coupon in late Aug. 30 days later when I went to redeem it, I found it wasn't in my account. I sent an email but didn't get a response. One week later I sent another email to their publshed support email and it bounced. I tried calling their 800# twice and the call was cut off after the introductory message. Buyer beware!
Really good offers from good restaurants, events etc. Not tons of fine print or restrictions like other deal sites.
From a business owners perspective looking at LivingSocial as a marketing opportunity, in comparison to Groupon or other daily deal sites, LivingSocial has much friendlier merchant terms.
Extremely poor customer service--I asked a simple question related to the *******@livingsocial.com e-mail to fix a transaction their system mis-processed and it's been more than a week--and there has been no response whatsoever. I called the phone number and was disconnected as I gave me name (twice). I do not plan to buy anything else from them.
I feel like they're forcing users to login using Facebook accounts. Although they have a link to use the Livijng Social account as a login, it's false and doesn't allow you to do so unless you click the Facebook icon and login there. I like the things being offered. I do not like being forced to use my FB account so they can track me better. There is no way to just use your LS account information. They should be honest with their users. They've become a "Facebook Roundup" machine.
I bought a round trip ticket to Catalina Island through LivingSocial, and have tried to use it twice now, but the Catalina boat company keeps having mechanical problems and having to cancel the trip. SO, I decided to try and contact LivingSocial to get a refund, and it seems IMPOSSIBLE! I've called their regular phone number AND their 1-800 number. Every time I call, it tells me to "wait for the next available representative," and 30 seconds later, I hear a recording that says "good-bye" and promptly hangs up on me! What is wrong with this company? LivingSocial is a total joke. I'm never using them again.
I have used them in the past with no problems however, last week I made a purchase and used a different credit card than was on file with them so I added that information and submitted the purchase. I got a screen that thanked me for my transaction. No confirmation email and it wasn't on my account after 15 minutes. I did the exact same transaction again and again go the same 'thank you for your transaction' screen. Supposedly neither transaction went through their system. I was never charged for them, as far as I know, but that isn't really the issue. I have contacted them and their customer service, if that is what you would call it, basically is telling me that I am trying to get a deal that is no longer available which is not the case. The voucher was worth $6. I could care less about that but I do care about the system telling me I have made a transaction and then it disappears into cyberspace somewhere. I can see if it happened only once but TWICE. The manager of their customer service needs to take some lessons in providing customer service.
I own a ballroom dance studio. We emailed them to find out about advertising with them. We were told there was no interest in ballroom dancing so they don't deal with our type of business. We sent an email to all our fans, students, dance community asking them to email LivingSocial and show their desire for us to be featured. We got a nasty letter from their sales rep telling us not to contact them. The sales rep actually told us to go to Groupon! Today they have a coupon out for pole dancing classes (exotic dancing). I guess we just weren't sleazy enough for them.
I own a small business, and after spending over a half an hour listening to the salesperson telling me how great the program is, I am sent an email saying I am not up to their standards. I am too small a business and not to relay to their email. I did not feel that I wanted to sneak past the requirements as your sales person suggested. I don't not see the need for a nasty rejection email. Or the need to block my call to make an inquiry. I was a bit surprised at this treatment. If I was told up front that I would not be a fit, it would not have wasted my time. Which is of value.
They took my money up front and was never showed up for the appointment. Then they changed the story saying they gavea time range not exact time for appointment threatened to expire the voucher if i didnt' wait another 5 hours. When I tried to call the local busines they never picked up despite 5 calls and 3 messages. Finally when living social picked up instead of finding a solution they just went on giving all of these excuses. They even acted like they were doing me big favor by giving my money back. What the FCUk
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
