“I love LETGO”

I have join Letgo over a couple of years ago. My sales has well superseded the FREE and simple cost to post. My upgrades to bump listings is well worth value. I can't say enough good.

Maybe this site can be used to sell. However buying somthing is kinda a joke. Message sellers who's stuff wasn't posted 4 years ago yet still on there and no responses. I've bought and sold from marketplace to reddit and in between. This is the worst. 32 messages to buyers and not 1 single response. These were not the prefab messages but personalized messages expressing intrest. That said this site needs to clean up the junk posts. Law of probability. This site is just terrible!

When good people make good deals its great. Too often, 7 outta 10, are no shows or keep you waiting for hours to do something generous for them. Really rude. A little money is great. If I charged by the hour waiting on people... It would be So Much More.

Why do I see so many furniture stores selling new furniture on let go. This is not what people come here for!

I have sold several small, low-priced items thru this app (about $30 per sale on average.) I'm reviewing as a seller, as I have never been a buyer on this site. Overall, it's fairly straightforward, and if you're serious and do make your messages and intentions to the interested parties clear and fast, you'll probably sell at least some of your stuff some of the time. I did. One major complaint: you can't stop the crazies and the flakes. I had a woman named Gertrude Salli make an agreement to purchase an item only to flake out 20 mins prior to our meeting time. Then, after messaging me about her sudden flake-out, she blocked me from contacting her, totally without reason or provocation! I hadn't even complained to her when she canceled our meeting! She blocked me simply to prevent me from giving her a well-deserved low rating. I reported her total misuse of the blocking feature, as well as her flakiness. You'll come across a lot of these types of folks on letgo, I'm sorry to say. You may have some luck on this app, but whatever you do, avoid the seller Gertrude Salli for certain.

I had tons of inquiries and was very excited about the initial response, but almost everyone wanted to know if I would negotiate. I put a lot of consideration into pricing, and listed most furniture pieces at $29- including a kitchen set with 4 'arching chairs in very good condition. I also posted a solid oak rocking chair, maple end tables, a brass floor lamp I paid $159 for. I thought $29 was fair. Most offers were for $15. I guess the ads leave people to believe we are desperate to sell. Rather disappointing

I have only been on the site for 2 days but sold 2 things. Both buyers came through. I am sure we will have some bad buyers but right now I am happy. Granted I am not selling high dollar stuff and I could easily just drop it off at Goodwill A few bucks is a few bucks. I sold a blender for 25 and a scooter used for 6. Better than the garbage. Update: I have listed several things since the first sale and nothing. I also have had people hit the "I'm interested" button and don't hear back from them.

I have about 30 or so items listed on Letgo. They get tons of recurring interest but due to lack of convenient payment interface make few actual sales.

Easy to use and I like that messages are in real time - no waiting. A few issues Ive had is the app deletes history out of the blue and also unable to reply to messages, so have to shut down and reboot or wait. It also does not allow you to post a group of things altogether and again separately because somehow it recognizes the item and automatically deletes the ad. Frustrating! Also, it keeps reading addresses as phone numbers and blocks house numbers so people have to keep asking for the address.

I have had great buying and selling experiences. What I absolutely can not stand is how idiots are selling clothes on here! I'm talking walmart 2$ shorts that they are pushing to get 4$. Please filter OUT CLOTHING/SHOES/CARS. Here in Bakersfield it's like a damn swap meet and folks are charging rent payments!

The app gives you easy access to a ton of things online which is also an opportunity to get every and almost anything you need online you could also decide to sell things that are no longer useful to you and earn money from them

I am not happy that people can write a review about there experience dealing with you on buying something but you as the seller have no way of a rebuttal if the guy is just not happy with what he wanted.

Really good app but a lot of non-communicative sellers. I guess you can just bypass those who dont respond to buyer(s) or use the report feature. Seems to be in its infant stage but holds a good deal of promise as a means of buying/selling.

A wanta be buyer named Brittany C. Flagged my item because i would not sell it to her for cheap. It was a vintage shelf. Letgo should investigate before allowing a buyer to flag or set a temporary hold before allowing a revenge customer to delete.

I used LetGo a lot 6 months ago. Lately all the app wants to do is make money off you by "helping you sell," no thanks I dont need you getting a cut. Many people say "I'm interested," then go to lunch. Its going downhill FAST!

There is an option to add more pictures, however, it rarely works for me to do so. Doesn't matter how many times I try. Until they fix it, use Offerup, I've never had an issue them.

After using the site & app, i looked at the comments about the system and fake accounts and such, and agree. I had 2 ideas to improve the site in the way that people would be able use it, and make some things easier on both ends.

[ Better UI]
{ " Have the chat box as the primary form of contact. "}
{ " Have the quick chat options as a secondary Icon popup option "}

<userBuyer> taps/clicks <Quick Chat Icon> = Displays quick chat options.

--This would prevent users from accidentally clicking responses, and sending them to the seller when they are browsing.

[ Pricing Options]
{ " Have an option to make the price FINAL or ASKING "} - inspired by offerup's system.

<userSeller> PriceOption = ifFinal (REMOVE(userBuyer)-QuickChatOptons("Is the price negotiable?")

-This would prevent them from trying to quick chat the response unless the seller chose the Asking price option.

These are only 2 ideas i have had, and most likely others as well, while using the app/website.

There are more ideas that may help improve the app/website, but these were my 2 biggest ones.

* Below is a photo of the first idea.*

*Note this is not HTML or any other form of programming, this is just to show the flow*

** UPDATE **

After seeing a post on the Gold Star, i would consider removing it from the main pages, as people can accidentally click/tap it; sending a response to the seller.

I would put this under the same popup tab as the quick response.

If anything, update it so it adds the current post to a folder
I. E. (watching list)

By doing this, it would only inform the seller they're watching the item for a possible purchase in the future if the item is still around.

Similar to the ( userBuyer > Has added "Post" to their favorites)

Quirky app. Pages hang and drag, have to be reloaded. People flake easily because the app is too easy to say they're interested. Some things I have sold and people keep asking about it and say it never shows up as sold and they get mad if I ask them, don't they notice it's sold and they block me.

Whenever I search, say coffee pots, you get inundated with listings for coffee tables, coffee mugs, coffee art, coffee pictures, coffee grinders and cats named "Coffee". There doesnt seem to be any way to filter those things out and you spend a lot- I mean A LOT- of time scrolling past those items. Plus it's not unusual to get items/pictures thrown in there that are in no way relate-able to the coffee pot you may have been searching for and will have to scroll thru things like power tools, automobiles, Casio calculators or plants in a mug? But yes, if you keep your selling & purchases "Local" then you can get some pretty good deals.

The App is easy to follow and see whats going on but the ppl who constantly just message you to request an item and then disappear into the abyss after you respond in unbelievable.
How is it that this app was #3 out of the top 5 selling apps. Seems like ppl are just wasting time..

Let Go is alright. I think the majority of the frustration stems from doing things on the buyers terms and believing peoples BS. There is a lot of BS in the world and people who seem to get off on it. So in order to "quick to dead the bull like a matador" the rules I follow to avoid frustration as a seller:

Rule 1: Always make the buyer come to you and on your terms. Using Craigslist I would say 8/10 buyers do indeed buy. If someone isn't serious enough to drive across town to meet you, then they aren't serious to buy and will low ball you because they think you're desperate. Remember, you go to the store, the store doesn't come to you. I stick to a 3 mile radius around my house and only meet across town if it's at my convenience. I almost always have people meet at the front of my street which is pretty busy and public.

Rule 2: Never believe the tomorrow or get on it the weekend people. They aren't serious if they aren't ready to meet today!

Rule 3: Don't hold items for people. The people that say they want it for sure, are most often the ones who never show up.

Rule 4: Don't entertain hagglers. Or sob stories. When the first text is what's the lowest you will take? My response is I am pretty firm on my price. When they have a sad story, don't humor it, they want it for free or pretty close to it. If I am the buyer, I haggle in person. Money talks, BS walks.

Rule 5: Respond back ASAP to all messages. Most buys are whim buys.

I get very offended when the first thing someone asks me is will you take less. They haven't even seen my product to know that it is brand new but they want me to give it to him. Very frustrating. But I guess that's what this world has come to people who don't want to work on everything that someone has worked hard for give it to them. No thanks. I'll let my stuff rot before I give it to somebody. The website itself is very good very easy to use it's just the people are Cheapskates

I was selling item on let go, when I get an offer for $25 on something that a bought for $1200 dollars, I was asking $350.00. They guy said all he had was $25 and why I wouldn't sale it to him for that. I told him I'm not going any lower then $350.00 and he went off calling me names and said he was going to kill me. I block him and reported it, 3/4 of people that contact me on Letgo lie and never show up, ask to trade and get piss when will not agree or try lowballing me and start treating me. I'm still selling On let go, but as soon as crazy stuff starts happen I block them, Be careful.

Any AH thats asking if avail... or wanting to buy something etc between 12am to 6am I delete automatically. It is bad enough that they want to check your stuff for nothing when you priced it so low. Every now and then I will get someone who is normal and nice. I also dont like to have to price it high knowing that theyre going to beat me down it just shows the quality of the mentality. Losers... cheap... And I have also found that they are not sincere when they wanna ask you for a lower price. They dont want the item them self because if they did they would pay it. So I find that when they start asking for a ridiculously low price I dont even bother with them and just delete them
