After trying this app for 1 month to buy and sell guitars, I am convinced that 95% of the users of this app can't scrape up $100, probably because they are spending their waking hours asking if items are available, setting up meetings and not showing up.
In the words of one of the other reviewers "This site sucks"! I don't know who writes the search algorithm for this site but they need to go back to school. When you search for anything you end up with dozens of absolutely non related items. If you log on from your PC you can't get your messages that you have on your app version. Offerup, on the other hand, works much better. Still a few issues but they actually give you the items you're looking for.
I was not sure about this app. But took a chance and listed my apt. Size washer and dryer. The same day a man responded for information, we went back and forth with questions and answers. I was honest about the unit, the dryer did not working correctly. Within the hour the man pulled up in front of my home, cash in hand, loaded the unit on his pickup truck and we said goodbye. I dance around the house for a while, it felt great. I feel bad for your experience but if others want to try it, I am a witness! Letgo is not fake!
To many non buyers, everyone wants you items for nothing, the auto reply buttons are no good and should be removed so many questions are sent by mistake, I know because it has happened to me as a seller and as a buyer, in general a good idea, but in the real world does not work
I don't know if it's the letgo app or just some of the people who use it. I was unable to respond immediately to 2 different sellers because of jury duty. Both ended up blocking me and one called me unbelievable names. I used to be able to peacefully sell and buy on letgo. Not anymore.
Lots of people kicking tires and saying "I'm interested" followed by radio silence. As others have suggested, it makes sense that the "people" inquiring about the items are bots seeing if the items are still available.
Overall, I highly don't recommend using letgo and, as others have suggested, would prefer to sell my items on Craigslist
When used as intended, just fine. I have sold a few things to extremely fair and nice, personable people. They showed up on time and we exchanged item/$ then we all went about our business. However, I have also had quite a few people agree on a time and place to meet then never show up (WHAT is that about? Why bother and pretend to be interested in an item if you have no intention to show up?) which is an INCREDIBLE waste of my time and so rude, I have had a lady insist I take my item off because she was definitely going to come pick it up then block me (again, I was totally befuddled... Why? What was her endgame?), people agreeing to come pick up an item and never show... and SO many people asking if something is available... Then never responding when I reply that it indeed is. And overall, people just want free sh*t. 90% of the things I have gotten rid of through this was because it was free. So. Occasionally works as intended. Mostly crappy experience.
The App is easy to follow and see whats going on but the ppl who constantly just message you to request an item and then disappear into the abyss after you respond in unbelievable.
How is it that this app was #3 out of the top 5 selling apps. Seems like ppl are just wasting time..
People play so many games, you post and item and the do not read the info and they assume the wrong price and get mad because I would not just give them my merchandise I am trying to sell. I posted new items that I know you cannot go to the store and buy for $5, people on this site are just crazy, and dont have any money, wishful thinking, want your stuff but cannot afford to buy, stay off the site if you cannot afford it.
I use eBay, Craigslist and Kijiji and I've never been stood up once. On Letgo, I'm now up to 4 for 4 on being stood up by people claiming to be interested buyers! Don't know why, but something about this service attracts scummy people who waste others' time. Try it and you'll see
This site should be banned from use. Persons here act like they are interested in what you have to sell but when you make a deal they love to not answer back and not show up wasting the buyers time. I have deleted my account and id advise you to do the same.
I have deleted my account with Letgo. Giving out information about yourself to people you do not even know ( when they say they will come over to pick up whatever you are selling and then NOT showing up) seems dangerous. You do not know whom you are dealing with. Yet these people have your name, address and phone number. Most of the people who ask me about the items I am selling have deleted their account after saying they are interested or are coming over to pick the item up. AFTER getting my address and info. Please, if you have an account on Letgo, be careful.
Every single time I ask if its available or if I can still buy, the person will either mark it for sale right away or never respond. If im selling however, people will ask for me to drop my prices to ridiculously low prices, ask if they can have it for free or want to trade something like a $#*!ing pokemon card for an Xbox! Its crazy. The worst part is how it seems almost everyone says they will meet up but when they are supposed to, they never do and then never reply. Poole are trying to wast e your time.
There are bound to be scammers and dud buyers on any classified site, but that doesn't mean everyone is a bad apple... I have made over a dozen purchases without a hitch, and sold many dozens of things with little hassle... No show 'interested' buyers are to be expected, I have dealt with them on the professional business level and though for sale classified ads for decades... To expect any online app or site that deals with the public to be perfect is unrealistic...
I am a real estate agent and thought I would advertise a couple of listings. Within a few hours Saturday morning I got about 12 messages.
The one thing I dont like about these new selling apps or even Facebook Marketplace is the auto-filled questions that is made available to people. It makes people so lazy that they cant even write out a question that pertains to the items you are selling. I can advertise a home loan program and someone will send an auto-filled question of do you have more photos?
So back to those 12 messages regarding my listings. I responded to every single one within seconds of getting them and NOT ONE person responded back!
So how is it that all these people responded to my ad but yet nobody answered back?
This is the worst Web posting to try to sell anything everyone who inquires about a product are weird or strange they make a request and never respond to the reply don't use this website it's full of it.
I was using the letgo app, for 2 days, and I had over 80 so called responds, to a truck that I am selling. So, with those 80 responds, I would keep getting: "Is it still available?", and "What kind of condition is it in"(well look at the photos, idiots, I feel) over and over again, while I waste my time in typing back and never any responds back to me. Then a lady named Stormy Daniels sends me a phone #- because she wants to buy the truck, so I call, and she gets my address to come to my house the next day, but she never does or calls me back. I think letgo is a scam, in having people that work for letgo, sit on their computers all day and respond back to the people using the app selling, getting "your" information and BS-ing you. Go elsewhere- letgo is a waste of time!
I have only been on the site for 2 days but sold 2 things. Both buyers came through. I am sure we will have some bad buyers but right now I am happy. Granted I am not selling high dollar stuff and I could easily just drop it off at Goodwill A few bucks is a few bucks. I sold a blender for 25 and a scooter used for 6. Better than the garbage. Update: I have listed several things since the first sale and nothing. I also have had people hit the "I'm interested" button and don't hear back from them.
I used to like letgo, just for the fact of it being another place to look for classified ads. But with my experience today with the website was absolutely horrid. Literally whatever I search I still get the same results, I was trying to find a video card, and i kept seeing the same product over and over, even when I expanded my location. If someone would like to explain to me what a diamond plated watch has to do with tech, I'd be very grateful. The whole website is all about favouritism, so don't expect people to view your product from the website. The app however is genuinely somewhat usable, I actually bought a computer off my mobile device. But I would still recommend staying away from letgo. If you have to use it, use the app.
Got my account suspended for no reason. Sold ONE THING like 3 months ago and only have one listing. I deleted it yesterday because I decided not to sell it anymore. After I closed the listing I just receive a message saying my account is under review. I contact them but they copy and paste the same thing. I keep asking for an explanation and they call me a different name and said I am selling fake stuff. Seriously, I am selling NOTHING right now. Sadly I don't have a screenshot of my account page. It is definitely the worse app ever. Don't ever sell here. Don't waste your time and energy.
Answer: I worked as a reviewer for several sites and when they have very little reviews or no reviews people like me are paid to say how great they are. You can verify these in Amazon reviews some of them praise items like there is no tomorrow full pages of nice reviews. When you see the contradicting reviews go for the bad one is the honest one.
letgo has a rating of 1.8 stars from 839 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with letgo most frequently mention customer service, many people and phone number. letgo ranks 177th among Auction sites.
