First, Ashley Dieppa, out of Nj, selling gakw PANDORA ITEMS AND MICHAELKORSprobably all on her page is dake, after you but she blocks you put of her page, SHAME girl it will car up with you one day, I reported her I wanna make sure she don't fool anyone else, Beware now she changed her profile name to Sarah Rivera, in Pensaken NJ, don't buy from her she's a kid class scumbag. Second experience I want to buy a gumball machine from this guy Richard out of Philly he asked me what I'm using it for, really then when I told him I want it for decoration, mancave he says sorry I'm not selling it, really I thought people want to make money here. Strange and scamming people
People are strange, with these apps it all depends on the area you are in. You have 3 basic areas 1st. City, 2nd. Rural. 3rd. Suburbs. Each area has its own kind of strange. Most city people just want to get rid of stuff cluttering up their small homes. Rural people are usually cheap buyers & sellers, and the suburbanites, not rich & not poor thay want to get the most for what they are selling, they have most of the tech devises but arn't savey enough to use it properly and they are low ballers offering $10 for a $200 item. And they are the stranger of the three. They are basically the tweenies of society,
As far as recieving support, just look at how many employees they have vs how big they are. They are obviously growing faster than they can keep up with.
As far as the winners who complain about personal security, really? This bs goes back to the CL killer. So, if you know how to read you should have read the free advice they offer. Read their policies and the safety info. And use COMMON SENSE.
I've been selling on letgo for about 2 years and I had a bit of a rough start being new to selling and dealing with people. Overall my experience with letgo is pretty great. I've made close to $700 in sales just this summer alone on letgo not including the use of offerup and 5mile or fb. The app makes things simple for me and I get plenty of messages from all types of ppl. Lowballs, creeps, trolls, and kids. A lot of times you don't get much further than "Is it available" but even with that I've been able to weave out the people wasting time and focus on people who are legitimately interested. I think its important to remember that people are going to offer you nothing for your stuff cause they want the cheapest they can get. You gotta evaluate your item and set up a lowest amount you'd take and from there work with people to come to an agreement. Everything is negotiable unless specified otherwise. So for my items I always tell people they are $X. Xx or best offer. That give them a chance to offer something a bit lower and test how low i'll go. From that point you can evaluate whether or not this person is worth your time. If im selling something worth $100 and you offer me $20 I'll politely end the conversation there. If you are looking to make the best of this app, be open mind and just remember that you'll most likely deal with 5 idiots before you get a serious buyer and from there its a cakewalk. Serious buyers tend to be nice people in my experience. Most serious buyers show up on time, communicate a lot, don't make any wierd demands and know the item fairly well themselves. One rule that doesn't necessarily mean someone is a risk or not is if they ask for your phone number. As a rule, I Never give out my number. I actually lost the chance to make $100 on a snow plow the other day for tht reason. It may be me being overly precaustious, but thats make rule and I think it is important to stay in your comfort zone. Don't hand out address so easily and if you can, always meet in a public place. If a buyer isn't cool with that then I would let that person go cause I'd rather play it safe.
I'd recommend letgo, keep it mind the things above. You can definitely make money using letgo along with other selling apps
Thieves can easily sell goods that they steal from you DO NOT USE this scam business that supports theft and crime.
I post an item on this app try it out all i get is scammer texting me all day WTF what kind of app is this?
Annoyed by all those "I'm interested". Messages and "Is it still available" messages that lead to nothing, except an occasional apology from someone who says they didn't know they sent a message or did so by accident.
Weeeell... it's not exactly by accident.
I have over 50 items listed all the time and my phone is always blowing up with letgo automated messages from people not really interested in buying anything, hence much wasted time all throughout the day and night going to letgo chats, s sending replies and 99% of the time never receiving a reply.
Before I go any further, Id like to say I think letgo is possibly one of the lamest selling sites I've used. Most people either seem to not know how to use the site or are too lazy to click on MORE INFO to see where an item is located and read details about the item.
Soo anyway...
When anyone scrolls down the page looking at all the items posted, simply touching any picture arrow or paper plane or whatever you wanna call it on the right hand side of the main picturr will automatically send a message to the seller.
It's Letgos way of kinda spamming sellers to respond to people looking. Its a trick to basically get sellers to make contact, solicit buyers, get buyers attention, create activity or whatever you wanna call it.
I personally just respond back with yes it for sale 2-3 times and move on. Many times of I eceive automated or let's call it pre selected inquiries, I just ignore them.
Letgo is laid out for lazy people pure and simple. Problem is, its lazier for potential buyers than for hopeful sellers.
Bottom line changes to be made in how Letgo works, otherwise the annoying lameness for sellers will continue.
I keep hoping Letgo will letgo and shut down so everyone can find a better, more personal way to buy and sell one where the buyer has to actually do some work.
There is another review by Joe who hit the nail on the head!
This site generates fake accounts which will ask you if it's still available but never goes any further. They also favorite you for no reason.
If you list something that another seller has listed, expect to see your listing removed due to poor quality, what happened is that other seller has reported your listing as bad and it is removed without hesitation, you get a message (one of numerous unnecessary messages that will flood your email box each day, messages are generated each time you click on anything, by accident or just to see what it is) saying it was removed due to poor quality and that's it.
When you contact them you will get a generated reply repeating the reason saying bad pictures or something while this site allows users to take a picture and do nothing else and post it! The app will give it some title that might not even be correct or even close to what may or may not be pictured since many pictures do not show anything that is recognizable! But those stay posted but mine which are perfectly clear with multiple shots and s long description with model numbers and full description of each item and its removed by a competing seller! The only way to stop it is to remove all others and send them a message telling them to stop now or you'll remove everything post they put up from this time forward!
But the thing is YOU WILL NOT MAKE ANY SALES HERE SO DON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH THE FRUSTRATION! I posted the same items on OFFER UP and sold half of them in a week! Allbeit they were sold for a fraction of eBay selling prices and I had numerous no shows and constant messages from idiots and people who can't find $5 to buy things but still seem to think I owe it to them to sell it for less, always post prices for twice what you want, buyers will always offer half or less than what you post.
I tried posting for minimum and they still won't pay full asking, when they show up they act like they lost money on the way or simply offer much less, just close the door and tell them to kick rocks, they leave or suddenly find the cash!
They require you to download their MALWARE app to do anything on the site. They allow people to create accounts without verification.
After using the site & app, i looked at the comments about the system and fake accounts and such, and agree. I had 2 ideas to improve the site in the way that people would be able use it, and make some things easier on both ends.
[ Better UI]
{ " Have the chat box as the primary form of contact. "}
{ " Have the quick chat options as a secondary Icon popup option "}
--This would prevent users from accidentally clicking responses, and sending them to the seller when they are browsing.
[ Pricing Options]
{ " Have an option to make the price FINAL or ASKING "} - inspired by offerup's system.
-This would prevent them from trying to quick chat the response unless the seller chose the Asking price option.
These are only 2 ideas i have had, and most likely others as well, while using the app/website.
There are more ideas that may help improve the app/website, but these were my 2 biggest ones.
* Below is a photo of the first idea.*
*Note this is not HTML or any other form of programming, this is just to show the flow*
** UPDATE **
After seeing a post on the Gold Star, i would consider removing it from the main pages, as people can accidentally click/tap it; sending a response to the seller.
I would put this under the same popup tab as the quick response.
If anything, update it so it adds the current post to a folder
I. E. (watching list)
By doing this, it would only inform the seller they're watching the item for a possible purchase in the future if the item is still around.
Similar to the ( userBuyer > Has added "Post" to their favorites)
I signed up with Letgo 5/2018 but didn't list anything until 4/2019. It is a fairly easy process to list items. I posted five purses, a pair of shoes, a baseball glove, two framed baby bear pics, and a vintage portable hair dryer. Within the first day I had an inquiry on one of the purses--asked if the price was negotiable. I picked one of the "suggested" responses of "Yes, what's your offer?" Never heard back from that person even though about a week later I sent a follow-up (one I wrote myself) asking if the person was still interested. Again, no response.
A few days later, I got an inquiry about the baseball glove, asking if it was still available. I again chose one of the suggested responses (I think it was simply "yes"). Never heard back from that person, either. The lack of a response makes me wonder if these prospective buyers are real buyers who are simply rude (even if no longer interested or found something else, it would be a courtesy to respond [i. E., "thanks but I found something else"]) or some type of scam (i. E., perpretrated by Letgo to make sellers think there is interest in their posts). In fact, at the bottom of the first page of the Letgo reviews on Sitejabber, there is a question/answer section where someone talks about the situation where someone expresses interest but then never gets back to the seller. One of the answers said it was an automated bot--not a real person--sent out by Letgo.
About a day after I replied to the baseball glove person, I happened to go to my Letgo account and saw that it was flagged with a "this account is under review." Of course, there is no explanation of why it's under review. That was about two weeks ago and it still is "under review." I then searched online for reviews of Letgo and came across Sitejabber. I was stunned at how many negative reviews there were for Letgo. Many of them referenced having their accounts under review. Others mentioned that they would get people expressing interest but never heard from them again (seems to be a common problem).
I am going to close my Letgo account. A friend has had a fair amount of success selling on OfferUp. I do not have a smart phone but, apparently, there is a way to sell from a computer using an android emulator such as Blue Stacks.
Up front, my cyber skills are limited. Too, I am a moderately rigid linear thinker. These two qualities made Letgo a challenge for me.
Learning curve is steeply painful.
1st... you can't take perfect pictures with your camera and use those images. Letgo hates them. OK, but, Yo, Letgo, you couldn't tell me this up front?
2nd... the logic path for posting is colorfully twisted. So, now you know you have to use only your phone for photos and you upload one. Letgo 's option at this point is... DONE. You haven't given a price or description or anything other than post a picture, but Letgo's only option is DONE. So you hit DONE and then... only then... other options for description and pricing become available. Think DONE refers to pictures and I am too dim to know that? Only when you hit DONE like you are finished... can you add more pictures.
3rd... the class of people that respond to you. Nothing is absolute, but I can't even count the number of CHAT messages I get that say I AM INTERESTED (one Of Letgo's prefab messages a buyer can send a seller) and then, after you respond, you NEVER HEAR FROM THAT PERSON AGAIN. Apparently, letgo tries to rate people to suppress this behavior, but I've had lots of 5 star folks disappear after reaching out to me. Catastrophic? No, but genuinely annoying.
4th. The chat system... sucks. Awkward, cumbersome, prevents you from cleaning out people or messages you no longer want, and has some Byzantine format of rearranging messages after you speak to someone that makes you have to hunt for their message subsequently if you want to continue that conversation.
Hey, I have sold some stuff, but it was only after a few weeks of getting beat up until I learned their torqued system's likes and dislikes.
Nothing sells on this website dont waste your time like i did putting in pictures listing all your items -- NOTHING WILL SELL
All the purchasers want to nickel and dime me to death this site is b*******
DO NOT Sell on this app if you're professional about business, live a private life, and don't want provocative Men trying to contact you about buying an item but instead trying to go on a date with you, and you have a Boyfriend. So I was selling a 8 Ft. Garden Arch it's for your garden, or can be used for an outside wedding this buyer was interested in purchasing the item so he messaged me on "Letgo" so I asked him "What would be a good time so we can meet, and you purchase item?", and he replied "Anytime! I'm home all day so whatever time is good for you. What's your address? Here's my number!", and I replied "How about 1pm? Also I'll be in town handling some other business we can meet at McDonald's sounds good?" then he replied "I hope I'm not busy that time." but the thing is he told me that he was available at anytime but of course I still kept in professional, and didn't say anything about it, and I replied "Ok!" so I messaged him around 12:45pm letting him know "I'm leaving to go uptown to handle business, and I'm about to stop at McDonald's so we can meet.", and he didn't reply back on "Letgo" so I texted, and called him from a "TextMe" app number I don't give out my real cellphone to certain people he didn't respond, and then 5-6 hours later he replied, and said "I'm so sorry I missed you I was busy. Maybe tomorrow we can meet, or I'll have my Sister meet up with you, and purchase the item from you.", and I said "OK!", and didn't me a time. So I contacted him by phone around 12pm no reply back, and then at around 1am in the morning he replied back, and asked me "Hey how are you doing Beautiful! What size do you where in jeans? I bet you have a nice body?", and he didn't say not one word about purchasing the item, and I saw the text message so I blocked him on the "TextMe" app, Letgo, and changed my number on "TextMe" just so unprofessional, disgraceful/disgusting, and same another buyer tried the same thing must of been him under another account so I blocked the rest of the "Letgo" buyers, and took my for sale items off so nobody wouldn't contact me I know it's proactive Men everywhere on social media, and in person but "Letgo" is worse. For now on I'm only doing online selling, and shipping.
Why don`t the owner OF letgo stop the( FAKE) people pretending to sell RV`S CAMPER, S Fake, Phony EMAILS stupid, Fake prices
SHOULD BE ABLE TO BROWSE SITE WITHOUT THE FEAR OF HITTING THE WRONG BUTTON! THE AM I INTERESTED BUTTON IS HORRIBLE PLACED.
Nothing sold, brand new items very nice but nothing but an offer to upgrade to make the offers come in faster. Nothing Sold-WASTE OF TIME.
Got a cell phone from someone he told me it is as unlocked and it was not it was new and stolen bad site do not trust anyone on this site BAD NEWS
You would think letgo would do something to stop the scams.
Answer: I worked as a reviewer for several sites and when they have very little reviews or no reviews people like me are paid to say how great they are. You can verify these in Amazon reviews some of them praise items like there is no tomorrow full pages of nice reviews. When you see the contradicting reviews go for the bad one is the honest one.
letgo has a rating of 1.8 stars from 839 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with letgo most frequently mention customer service, many people and phone number. letgo ranks 177th among Auction sites.
