I decided to get rid of some new, never used items on Letgo after seeing ads on tv and online. I thought it would be better than using craigslist, but boy was I wrong. The people on there are so cheap, even when you have great deals on NEW items you are selling, they still constantly try to get you to sell cheaper. When you won't, they resort to telling you that they can find it cheaper elsewhere and trying to insult you. Good, go buy at that magical place then. If I was willing to sell you something for $5, I would have posted it for $5. You spend so much time messaging back and forth, and then it falls through. My advise is to just post an ad on Craigslist or sell on Ebay and don't deal with the back and forth nonsense on letgo.
Every item I have ever posted on this app has been haggled to the point of insulation, literally less than 1/5 of the asking price is normal for someone on this app, then once you meet the people, they wanna haggle more thinking they have the upper hand because your wanting to "letgo", I guess the name implies the nature of the people! Stay away from all people who deal on this app, I have not had one good interaction/message/transaction!
At first after signing up I posted a bunch of quality items, brand new power tools and some electronics and I got bombed with messages, mostly lo ballers and people making absolutely laughable offers but I made a couple reasonable sales. After about a week the "still available?" end of communication messages and the odd "$20" on like a $200 item. Now no messages at all, does the site gauge how many don't buy from and/or how many people you turn down? I don't know how it could be a scam because everything I've purchased have been good experiences from nice fair people. I don't know how I'm attracting just broke $#*! low lives or nothing at all. Also when you look at people's profiles it seems like the dumpster divers on here are having much better luck selling an old tire swing from there backyard then I am selling a brand new high end power tool... Like I said "confusing at best"
Fake users contact you then never respond after that, have not sold anything here listed 10 times cuz you get a hit every time but the stuff is still here, give out my number no one ever calls. It has to be mostly all fake to just make click ad money. I am sure some folks actually sell I have tried to buy but who wants to drive across town to save 5 bucks when u can just use amazon or ebay
Looked for a car. 16 year old jeep 41k miles. Sounded suspicious. Found another car.
Both people emailed me exact same reason why they were selling. Husband died... being deployed... bad memories!
I'll pass and delete app from my phone.
I've listed at least two dozen items from medical equipment to perfectly working refrigerators to furniture for low prices and haven't sold anything. "Is the item still available?" "What size is it?" Over snd over again. Site is full of scammers, morons or just plain lonely people looking for a friend. You're better off just throwing the stuff in the trash and saving your time and effort.
My experience: List items- items get assigned additional description that makes no sense (beige stainless food dehydrator, wooden five layer) - receive messages all hours of the day and night "Is this item still for sale"- spend lots of time replying to messages- no one buys anything.
I tried to sell some nice toys and baby stuff on Letgo. I've had over 10 people message me in the past 2 days asking to buy my stuff or they say they're interested (seriously... who cares?). Nobody has shown up to buy anything. Do people really have that much free time to look other people's stuff on an app, send messages, then decide, "Meh. I wasn't gonna buy it anyways,"?! I won't use this anymore. The buyers are mostly bottom-feeders, and their apathy and gimme gimme attitude isn't worth my time.
I was new to the app. Was selling a couple of James Avery rings that I hardly ever used. Some guy under the name Victoria Martinez replied the following the after my posts so the whole conversation goes on and she agreed to meet half way because the original address was toward Leon Valley San Antonio which was 50 min from me for an extra $15. There was no way I could tell this was a scam. Till I got there she sends a message saying her boyfriend will get it. But, I end up having 3 men and one with a gun in a hand pointed at me... never again will I use this app. Theyve obviously done it before and will do it again. I had my daughter in the passenger seat with me so you can only imagine how terrified she was.
People will make incredibly low-ball offers, then when you counter, they never get back to you. Which makes me think they weren't serious in the first place. Just looking for something to steal, it appears, and if they can't steal it, they're not interested. I thought Craigslist was bad, but this is even worse.
It would be one thing if a single person inquired, carried through and actually met up for the sale, but when it's been multiple people who agree to a sale and pick up time then flake... it's almost like some weird game degenerates are playing. That is all I have encountered on this dumb site. Sticking to the local Beg, Barter and Buy sites on Facebook. Oh and one more thing, a local PO told me that Letitgo is full of drug dealing. If you see strange things like "Blue Handled Scissors" price negotiable, it's for drugs...
Been trying to use this app for 2 weeks now. Very annoyed with the way it operates. Endless image tiles laid out and I have to select each one just to see what it is and price, then I have to select more info to actually find out the important stuff. And what's this "negotiable" crap? Negotiable from what? There's no ballpark price! No wonder everyone is complaining about lowballers, 90% of the ads I selected basically told me to make an offer. The search engine is also garbage. I typed in a specific type of tire machine, all I got was a billion results for tires! App is too simplified, wastes my data loading nothing but pictures and wastes my time. Deleted.
The concept is great! The technology is sub standard for this website. First, customer service; lacks a phone number. Second, all inquiries must go through FAQ! Third, security is not in place online to prevent buyers or sellers from being scammed! Fourth, the sales are based on trust and not technology for safe guard. Main issue: The application will work for Android and/ or Apple. Non Windows! In addition, application can only be used with Smart Phone--No Laptop. Apparently the TV Ads are Extremely Misleading!
I usually don't get involved in writing a review,... but this LETGO AP
I definitely need to comment.
The ease of this AP was ok... its when you post your ad you will get an automatic
Interest response always within 3 minutes, on any item. Asking generic questions.
I seriously think there is an automated computer robot or Letgo employees creating
Interest on your item that never goes anywhere except waste your time.
I also have had multiple last minute appt. Cancellations. I sold 1 item on Letgo
By luck... do yourself a favor stay away from this site.
Mixed reviews about the app thus far. A LOT of people like to waste your time and ask a bunch of silly questions about your item and you never hear from them again. I did have a good experience buying from someone who was serious about selling and not just wasting peoples time. The app is very user friendly and easy to navigate
I have sold a lot of video games and systems on the site and have met nice people. But it seems lately that they have trolls to make low ball offers and you never hear from them again. It is almost like they are getting paid to "ding" you every so often when you haven't had any recent sales or inquiries. FYI Offer Up does the same thing...
I posted some tires for sale and noticed the only time I got a response was whrn I paid the $1.99 extra. I had several messages but no one ever responded after I answered them back. This happened like 8 times already! Very aggravated because I've spent $4.00 already trying to sell something on a free app!
They have no clue who the real sellers are and who is a scam. After posting 10 items I never sold 1.
My profile was put on hold because Radom people can make reviews even when no sale has been made. Stick to Craig's list and EBay.
If there was a zero star option I would give it a zero.
Frustrating because, I requested "help" from the site as I couldn't reply to chat messages and all I got was a few robotic response, none were of any help in solving the issue!
Annoying because after numerous emails requesting that they have deleted my profile it remains as is.
A pointless service.
I used this app to post a few of my listings. I attempted to sell some gold & pure silver items. Needless to say nothing sold. Fake people responded to my listings with B. S. offers. Some offered to buy all my coin collections, but never gave a price or followed through. I tried on two separate occassio s yo give this app a fair shot and was extremely disappointed. If you have anything you want to sell of value, then this app is definitely not for you. This app should be banned. No serious or sophisticated buyers what so ever. SELLERS BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM SITE!
Answer: I worked as a reviewer for several sites and when they have very little reviews or no reviews people like me are paid to say how great they are. You can verify these in Amazon reviews some of them praise items like there is no tomorrow full pages of nice reviews. When you see the contradicting reviews go for the bad one is the honest one.
