Lensabl has garnered a reputation for providing high-quality lenses and a convenient service for replacing lenses in existing frames, with many customers expressing satisfaction with the product quality and the speed of delivery. However, concerns have been raised regarding customer service responsiveness, particularly during issue resolution, as well as occasional discrepancies in prescription accuracy. While many customers appreciate the transparency and communication throughout the process, there are notable frustrations related to the handling of returns and remakes. Overall, Lensabl is viewed positively, though improvements in customer support could enhance the overall experience.

My lenses had to be restarted a couple times which took a little while, BUT I appreciate the Lensabl team being so thorough! My Stoggles are finally here and now I can use them at work and when I start radiology tech school/clinicals! Thanks so much!
The service is a bit slow but does save you about 50% on lenses. So, if these are not your primary glasses, or an emergency. It's a good deal. The one thing I noticed is that the reading prescriptions is much lower than the other glasses I have (that I got from my eye doctor). I have to tilt my head backwards in order to read my computer monitor, which is at eyesight level, and causing pain at the base of my neck. They should compensate the reading prescription, not only for reading a book on your lap but for what most people use glasses for, which is working reading a screen.
Sent my Gucci sunglasses to them back in late April to get my prescription put into the frames. They sent the completed order back in late-May--with one of the lenses half sticking out from the bottom of the frame. It was bonded into the frame this way, warping the frame, and was completely unwearable! I contacted them to send them back for a redo-- and they had me send them back in, wait another 3-4 weeks for them to fix (without a single word of communication from them regarding the status of my order, mind you), and today I received the "fixed" order back (the last day of June)... with the lenses in exactly the same way as they had first arrived back to me. It looks like they didn't bother to fix anything... just sat on the order for weeks and sent them back to me in the same exact condition. I'm giving up trying to get this made right by them. Not only did I waste $250 on this order, my expensive sunglasses are ruined.
The lenses are ok. The delivery time — about five weeks — was excessive. The "progress report" icons on my account page were of no help. Customer service was responsive within 48 hours, but seemed automated. Asking me to contact customer service (again) if I didn't receive a shipping notice within two business days is irritating. There seems to be a disconnect between the lab and support services. The lensable.com price isn't worth a five-week wait for my sunglasses.
After 6 months I still have no refund. They promised refund according to their cancellation policy. The customer service does not respond to emails. No phone to contact. BBB gives them an F+ rating.
It took 3 months to get my final pair of glasses with prescription lenses. I had to email multiple times throughout the process to get updates — I was never updated without me prompting them. Given initial very long delay, I reached out and they said they'd get back to me - when they got back to me they said discovered my glasses had been broken in the process of inserting lenses and they needed to order a new pair of glasses to restart the process. They did pay for the new pair and had it shipped directly to them. The new glasses then did not pass their final inspection after having lenses inserted and had to be reworked, so I had to wait even longer. Glasses do look great and function well on arrival, which I was pleased about.
When purchasing my lens replacement with Lensabl, I had high hopes. It looked like a great company, with great reviews, and people received their glasses quickly. However, it took a month to receive my glasses and the tracker on the website never moved, so being that you pay for this service ahead of time, and that they had a pair of designer frames in their hands, I was anxious to say the least that my glasses would never come. It was also frustrating that they do not have a phone number to reach a live person. Even the chat feature is just an email, and an agent doesn't reach back out for 1-2 days. And it states if you email more than once your request goes to the back of the line. After a few attempts, I did have an agent explain the lenses failed the first quality check, so they had to redo them, but again, that would be helpful if I received notification regarding the issue. A little communication goes a long way.
I received my glasses a month later, and they appear to be the right prescription, but I would like to have them tested to be sure. I also got the blue light coating, which has a blue tint to it that I wasn't expecting, as other blue light glasses I have do not. However, at this point I am just glad to have my glasses back. Will I use this service again? No. I think this company has a lot of potential, but they need to figure our their customer communication workflow, and fix the bugs on their website to truly have a customer trust this company.
While the idea is great and the final product I received was of great quality, the communication and support is extremely poor. Their website never updated my order status and it took around 5 days to get a response to any support tickets. I understand growing pains and delays due to COVID but I found it unacceptable that they couldn't nail down the very basics of communication.
I will definitely give them a second chance down the line because of their great product and great prices but will wait a few months and hope they get their ducks in a row.
So, I went to my local optometrist (I live on an island in the Pacific NW, so slim pickings) and, while he has all the bells and whistles, my most recent prescription from him was terrible. My vision was doubling, and I couldn't even read my Kindle books. So, I started using my previous glasses that I got in Mexico (I live there 5 months in the winter) and they were obviously the prescription I needed. I decided to send my glasses to you with my "old" prescription from Mexico because, obviously, I PAID for those frames/lenses on our island, and they didn't work for me. You made new lenses with my recent frames based on my prescription from Mexico, and THEY ARE PERFECT.
It took a bit longer than I thought, but you emailed me saying the ones you were going to send didn't meet your standards and you needed to re-do them. Since I already had my old glasses I wasn't worried.
I am beyond happy with my frames and my lenses from you. I was a bit apprehensive about doing this online, but I already had a pair of glasses that worked so it wasn't like I'd be hurting (except for the $$$ I paid for my new lenses on island…which didn't work).
So, I got new lenses on a frame I liked, and you were able to make my lenses as they should have been. Not to mention you were half the price of my local optometrist's frames/lenses.
I will keep going to my Mexican optometrist for prescription lenses (he's old school) but I will have them made in the future by Lensabl.
Thanks so much for my new glasses!
Ordered lenses for Stoggles- apparently frame broke during first attempt so took awhile longer than anticipated but they got new frames and got it done eventually. Lenses are solid and clear.
I decided on lensabl because I had read positive review on the service. While they charge more than others, I was willing to pay the difference to insure a positive / easy experience. My order was delayed for some mysterious reason and had to be redone, once they were completed the site said the order was ready for shipping for days (why didnt it go out right away), but most importantly while my frames fit perfectly when I sent them in for lenses they came back unwearable. The temples are stretched wider than any human would wear. ANY lens technician would know this is incorrect. Now I have to go in to a local shop to get the frames adjusted. For the same price and timeline (probably faster) I could have just gone to a local optometrist. What is the point of lensabl?
It took approximately two full months (5/3 to 6/28) to receive my order. Two inquiries to Lensabl customer service were addressed promptly and courteously, but updated shipping dates were not reliable. Now that I have my new glasses, I am very happy! The new lenses really improve my vision, and the transition works very well. My only complaint is the inordinately long order process.
The ordering process needs work. On something like this product you need to have people who one can talk to about issues. Sending e-mail messages is way too slow. On the ordering process the entire prescription process needs to be updated to that all the measurements are requested in the beginning. Having said all of this the glasses did turn out correct in terms of the prescription and work on the glasses.
I ordered prescription lenses for my Salvatore Ferragamo frames. I ordered Grey with tint level 3. When I received them back, the lenses were color matched to the original lenses which is a blue/green color. Reached out to support and was told a post-order specialist would reach out to me shortly. It's been 6 days since my initial inquiry with no response. I ordered from Lensabl at the end of May with the intention of using my new sunglasses for the duration of the summer. At this point, due to lack of communication and long processing times, I am not comfortable sending them back to be remade as I am concerned they will not be returned back to me in a timely manner. I would love to work this out privately to a post-order specialist-- if they ever get back to me.
It is very frustrating that the online tracking is very generic it is always six Days until shipment and in my situation that was over three weeks. I would appreciate if there was better transparency in terms of production times and turnaround times for orders. I have to admit when you use customer support and email people they will respond and give you an accurate measure but the online system does not reflect that.
Great job, looks identical to non-prescription lenses from manufacturer
Still waiting on a refund on a previous order which I never completed but was charged in December 2019.
Following up and getting status of the order is always an issue. Placing an order was smooth and the response we get is immediate. Need to have a better mechanism for status updates as using laptop the status is different wnen compared to mobile. Its different. Pls take a look and fix the site.
I'm a healthcare provider who recently purchased Stoggles to protect myself amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. I also wear glasses, and have been doubling up on eye protection until I discovered these stylish frames. Thanks to Lensable, I was able to put prescription lenses into my protective eye wear. Great product, fast shipping, I'm telling all my coworkers about this!
Answer: I was not so lucky and have had a horrible experience withLensabl. After two months I'm still waiting for progressive lenses that cost over $600 and Neither my frames nor the lenses I ordered are back to me. Next time I will use a local eyewear store.
Answer: They falsely boosted about putting new lenses in existing frames (in a very short turn around like a week) not the 8 months it's been
Answer: Once your frames arrive at our lab, assuming you've provided all required Rx information, lens production is 4-7 business days on average before shipping
Answer: I purchased some really awesome vintage glasses with octagonal black plastic frames made in France, probably from the late 1960s or early 1970s. I was so excited to have them made into sunglasses. I took them to my local optical shop and was told, "I hope you didn't spend much on these because you wasted your money. No one will touch frames this old, because the plastic is so brittle it will just shatter." I was so disappointed. I tossed them in a drawer and forgot about them for a few months. Then I saw an ad for Lensabl online. I contacted them and asked if they could work with vintage frames, and the answer was "No problem!" I was nervous to send the frames in but figured I didn't have anything to lose. I just received the glasses back in the mail today (two weeks from when I mailed them in), and they are incredible! The frames were cleaned and straightened, and the new lenses are perfect. I love them so much. Thanks, Lensabl!
Answer: They clearly don't have the infrastructure set up to be in this business where each frame is a customer order. In cases like they they are not staffed with customer services that can be actually helpful which only result in wrongly made glasses. They broke my glasses and are not trying to it at all. I posted review on here before and then it just disappeared for some reason, I'm not sure if they are paying people to get rid of negative reviews.
Answer: Transitions take an upwards of 30 seconds to Transition. The weather conditions can impact the Transition time. Brighter and warmer outside conditions= transitions faster.
Answer: I am having the same experience. Took my money, lost my frames and have done nothing on refund nor damages. I filed with BBB as well. Why are they still in business is a surprise to me?How many more consumers do they need to harm before they are fined and/or shut down?
Answer: All prices are in USD ($) but we do ship to Canada as well :)
Answer: Yes all of our lenses are guaranteed or we will re-make them if any issues once you receive them back. Thanks!
