This company has been successful at giving me the runaround. I call them just about every day trying to get someone to do their job. Each time I call I get the same response, "you should receive further information in 7 to 10 business days". I also hear, "the back office is extremely busy and doing the best they can". Listen if you as a company are not able to handle a certain number of customers, then don't take on more than you can handle. I have been trying to get them to submit my 501c3 application to the IRS for well over 2 months now. Only time there is a little progress is will a call and demand movement. At this point, put me on payroll. Even to get my EIN was a headache. Just plain TERRIBLE. I finally filed a complaint today with the BBB.
I used LegalZoom in the past and although it might be a little pricey with all the extra features you can add-on, they provide a good service and help you navigate legal issues if you're trying to incorporate or dealing with other legal issues by yourself. It's definitely much cheaper than hiring a lawyer and they actually have a service where you can consult with lawyers. I don't like how they try to upsell you constantly to some of their services. The idea of paying for the service every month for years I might not use too much just doesn't vibe well with me. But I guess for some, that's the cost of doing business.
The site itself is pretty easy to use and I haven't had any issues with it. I like the design and it is actually pretty easy to navigate and when I had to call in, the customer service rep was pretty good and helped me figure out what I needed to.
I started a will 18 months ago but never finished, and I needed to re-engage on my status, payments, choices of services, plans.
I worked with a person named Aimee, and she was wonderful. Very patient, very responsive, used her best tools to guide me on the sequences to find things, get things done.

Representatives will repeatedly lie to you to get you off the phone. I was told my LLC paperwork was submitted to the state yesterday and it would be at least five days before they hear back from the state. Little did they know, I had the paperwork in my hand (downloaded from the state's website) and the director of the state's Department of Corporations on the phone with a three way call while Legal Zoom is telling me they haven't heard back yet. The director told me (after Legal Zoom hung up) "We responded to that file yesterday."

I received a call shortly thereafter, as I believe there was a miscommunication somewhere b/t departments and what information was updated or the person had access. Anyway, the woman that called I believe was adamant and apologetic. I received a refund, and am satisfied 100% with everything I paid for. Sorry it took so long to write this... she didn't even request that I do anything in trade. Thank you.
I called on 1/25/2024 to request a refund of a product I had not use for and paid for on 1/02/2024. My CC, receipt from LZ, and MY ACCOUNT page all from LZ all state that fact. In my call the agent stated that this order number was on 12/24/2023 (even if that was true, are you that hard up to steal $299.00?), anyway all my evidence clearly shows that this request for refund was well within the time frame. Enough said.
Do not use this service. The sales pitches are dishonest. It is far better to use a local attorney. In the end the price will be the same and your attorney is beholden to his/her respective bar association. There is no way to hold this firm accountable.

This was the most difficult process on starting an LLC. They had a bunch of hidden fee's and once they get your credit card you better watch out because they keep charging on it. The customer service is horrible. You pay to have everything done they and then you call and they say you have to call the IRS and other entities that they were suppose to do. This process has been horrible.

It has been since OCT 2022 when I requested a simple DBA name that they quoted 7 to 21 days. Since then, I have mailed them the same form 4 times, they called about 10 times and I still dont have my DBA and cant get my business going. Do it yourself or go somewhere else. They are so bad they gave me a partial refund and that was 2 months ago and still in process

I feel tricked. Ordered "name change" paperwork for $140 on 8-15. I filled out a lot of fields on the website telling what I wanted to do with my name. On 8-20 I received an email saying my papers had been mailed to me. On 8-28 still no documents. So I called. Thirty minutes (!) on hold wondering if I had been scammed. Finally someone picked up and said I should wait longer on the US mail --Really?! I begged for them to just email the documents, and they did. I thought I would get documents that were filled out appropriately with the info I had given. Instead I got the EXACT SAME blank form available at my county court website- FOR FREE! Please learn from my stupidity. Do not pay this HORRIBLE scam company for something you can quickly get for free for yourself.

LegalZoom's structural network is designed to discourage customers from completing orders. In addition their customer service is a joke. Their representatives are not knowledgeable on the services they offer, the differences between them, nor will they direct you to a supervisor after you have had to call in 4 times for the same hold. 100% not with the money or your time. I would add images to support this claim but their contain confidential information.
