I have 3 accounts with LegalZoom that go back several years. Unfortunately my experience with thier current staff has been a ridiculous waste of time as the usual interface is dropped calls and over 30 minutes of hold time(and this after they call me). They are incapable of transferring an LLC to an authorized owner and will not consider amending this practice under any circumstances. The notice sent out (email) for SOI compliance is neither monitored or protected as a usable document... so a $250 fine is applicable from the state after 90 days. I'm not the first customer to voice this complaint and will not be the last. I can only surmise the front line employees are poorly trained and without recourse to a manager who gives a $&!#. This practice is usually the result of greed or ignorance... of which neither are good for the future.
Hi. I recently used LegalZoom to set up a DBA. My first business. After filing with them, a buddy told me I should have just done it myself. That's its fairly simple and does not take much time. Well, wish I had known that before spending a couple of hundred dollars with LegalZoom. I started the process with them 5 weeks ago. They sent me paperwork that needed to be signed and notarized and sent back. Did that. So, now I'm 5 weeks in, they're still waiting for the paperwork to be returned from the Federal and State Agenicies supposedly? By the time I'm legally up and running, bet it will be at least at the 2 month, 60 day, Mark if not later?! My friend explained how I could have easily done it myself and the company set up in a week or two at most. Trust me. If you're looking to start a business, this is a good way of getting your feet wet and learning something. Do it yourself.

I demanded a refund and all I got was runaround and phone disconnects. No way would I EVER mess with these people again... I ended up doing a chargeback on my card and blocking future charges from them!

I'm still beginning the process but to help others out. If your a first time seller stay away as your only interaction is online which is probably fine when you know the all the legal terms but if your a newbie I'd go with people you can speak too. This is rubbish. An annoying thing is that the reference forms they speak of bear no relation to the online forms you are presented with, this makes having an easy conversation about missing information impossible really. I rang the support line and they asked me to tell them the name of my solicitor that's appointed by them what the, that's just stupid they should have all the details to hand. So in summary save yourself a nightmare stay away.

I'm still waiting for a callback- when I emailed about an address error on paperwork it was ignored. As the other reviewers state, the hold times are outrageously long, and upon getting an email reply, I found the irrelevant response frustrating. Signed docs electronically to find the error was not fixed. Unable to get someone on phone, so I suppose I'm just another sucker to them. Pay an attorney- don't waste your hard-earned money on this lack of professionalism.

They are a total scam. Delaying orders, many silly emails and calls. When you return them, they ask for more and more completely seemingly bogus requirements that don't make any sense, and then they offer they do it for you for another fee. This has happened to me now five times for a simple LLC filing, which they hadn't even started after a month. Nothing was missing, they just seem to fabricated requirements. Asked for my money back. Lets' see what happens. Take this to a lawyer if not. Stay away is my suggestion!

I've spoken to multiple reps over the past 2 weeks and I must say every one has been a pleasure to work with. The latest was Michelle, who not only researched and found missing documents - three rolled into one but listed separately in the "documents to sign" section - but also took careful note of the confusing aspects of the website as I was seeing it. The status of one order was shown as a combination of a) "In Process" (top right) b) "Ready to download" (middle right) c) "Order Printed and Shipped" (middle left) d) "Ready for Download" (lower right) and "Order received... and will begin processing it shortly." (lowest right). She acknowledged this looked like a bug and would pass it on to the appropriate team. I'm still waiting for some transfer of title documents from GOdeeds to show up, but otherwise have been very happy with the experience overall.

There was an issue with my application and and within an hour Julie helped me to correct the problem and worked with me get the correct forms filled out. She was so professional and her sense of humor is priceless. I tried to get a local law office to help (filled out a form) with business issues in April and they have not even call me back (5/22/17). Called to resolve a billing issue where I had cancelled a monthly service, but was still being charged. Zander Pady assisted me and was able to look up my previous request to cancel and refunded all the previous months I was billed for within a couple minutes. He was very easy to work with and you can tell LegalZoom does a great job at training their staff or hiring the right people. I've called them quite a few times to discuss various items and have had pretty good service every time!

I have used LegalZoom to open what will now be my sixth company. They have changed horribly. There is little communication and their workers that answer the phones don't know anything but filling in the paperwork. I even scheduled with one of their attorneys and she couldn't answer my questions either. Never going back.
