The overall reputation of the company reflects a significant divide in customer experiences. Positive feedback highlights attractive pricing strategies and a broad product selection, particularly in apparel. However, numerous negative aspects emerge, including frequent complaints about inconsistent pricing, poor customer service, and inadequate handling of returns and online orders. Customers express frustration with staff training, particularly regarding ADA compliance and return policies, which often lead to lengthy processes and dissatisfaction. The prevailing sentiment indicates a need for improved customer support and operational efficiency to enhance overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

I thought I had purchased an Amazon Echo Show as a guest. The web page was misleading at best. Received only a stand for the echo at a price 3X what I later found the stand to cost.
Tried to return or exchange, but that's when my trip to hell started. I had purchased as power of attorney (POA) for my 96 year old mother with dementia. They refused to talk to me without my POA on file, but since I had purchased as a guest, they refused to file my POA.
SO - I wrote a bad review on Kohls website - nothing inappropriate, only telling my experience as I am now. They refused to publish it despite watering it down four times, answering every concern they raised (like mentioning the name "Amazon" - which is in the title of their webpage and appears 35 times on the purchase webpage). Doesn't work - should you cite so much as a syllable of criticism about Kohls online experience, it won't get published. So, the message sent loud and clear to me is:
KOHLS - Don't EVER purchase as a guest and don't EVER complain in a review
I've spent some time looking for clothes here but every time it just gets too confusing with all the deal stuff, and it feels like I get a bad deal if I don't figure it all out so I avoid shopping here. Shopping online is a bit easier but they should hold my stuff up front instead of making me walk so far to the back. It's fine once, but it's also a mall area, so it's really an adventure just to do a pick up.
The Kohls near my house did an excellent job at helping me find what i needed, I'll be going back for more gifts for my family
When you need to do a even exchange for whatever reason you can only do so if the store has it there. They will not honor price paid. This is not the way kohls should be treating customers. Buyer beware.
I was given a gift but returned it for something else. Since I did not have the receipt (who would as it was a gift) I was given a 40% reduction of the price tag value.
I'm writing a review mainly because as an IT person, I've developed a vendetta against their site. They've been overdue for years to revise it to be more mobile friendly. I can think of two transactions that I cancelled after spending over an hour getting redirected by late loading ads because there were errors in the checkout process. I recently decided to save myself the hassle to get some summer wear and shop in store. I have a Kohls charge and went to pay my bill today. I had to borrow a PC because no browsers on any of the mobile devices I had could dispaly their new terms pop up fully so I could not agree and load the site on anything mobile. To repeat. I love the brands, offers, and product. But they need to have a serious performance review of their site, do some massive revisions, and start testing site changes like new term agreements on multiple platforms. So I'll give two stars for the product but they have a ton of room for improvement.
I bought some things for Christmas. I received a bill in January and paid it as usual. In late February I got an email from Credit Karma that something has changed on your credit report. I went onto bothTrans Union and Equifax and both were showing a problem with Kohl's. I went on Kohl's website and noticed they had me on paperless billing. I changed that back to paper billing. I also see that there was a balance due that was late. I had no idea I had a bill left from my Christmas shopping as I never received one either by mail or email. I first called Kohl's and got nowhere. I sent a letter into their credit department asking them to take the late payment off my credit. They sent a letter back saying we can't do that as it would be false because your payment was late. I called Customer Service today. The first guy I talked to was use. Was. I then asked for a Supervisor. This woman was trained on being a company spokesperson and saying no. I asked her how can a payment be late if I never received a bill. Her response wa I should go into my account every month and check the statement. I have been a cardholder with Kohl's for 18 years and never a late payment until they switched me to this paperless billing. It dinged my credit reports pretty hard. I went from the 800's to the 700's and they don't care. I to. D her I wouldn't be shopping there anymore and she didn't seem to care. I ripped up my card and cancelled my account. Will never go back to Kohl's.
I returned a pair of jeans to the Chillicothe, Ohio Kohls store today. The desk associate put the money back on my Kohls's credit card without asking. I told her I had already paid my credit card bill and wanted cash. Then she tried to put the money back on a store credit gift card. I told her I didn't want store credit. She called a supervisor. They ask if I had my receipt where I paid off my credit card. Of course, I didn't. Who carries that around with them? She said they only had the option of putting it on store credit. I know better than that. Long story short, after showing my driver's license, I finally got my forty dollars and some change. As I turned to leave, the associate called out, "Have a nice day." Now that sounds perfectly innocent unless you heard the tone in which she said it. I worked at a customer service desk for many years. I know sarcasm when I hear it. At the very least it was patronizing. I wasn't rude during the return, just told her I wanted my money back. I can't do much about her or her attitude, but I can do this: I won't use that Kohls's credit card ever again, so I won't buy as much as I would if I was using it. Your store's loss. And Christmas gift cards will be purchased from J. C. Penneys.
I bought light colored jeans on line. Over time the glue from the "size strip" put on the thigh of the jeans stained a YELLOW LINE on my jeans AFTER return period over!
NEVER AGAIN. I CANCELLED my Kohl's card.
I have been a reasonably happy Kohl's customer until last December.
When shopping in 2019 I was talked into opening a Kohl's credit card account.
It was quickly approved and I have been using it without issue until last December 2021
I was sent a notice asking me to verify my identity because a recent applicant had the same Social number. This led to to making numerous calls to the Kohl's credit call centre that is handled overseas.
After sending copies of my ID to the Kohl's office in Wisconsin I have received no communication whatsoever from them and when I call I just get frustrated by their agents just apologizing but taking no further action.
In my whole life I have never had such poor customer relations with a retailer.
They spend so much on advertising but when a client has a problem….
Too bad, so sad
NO ACTION TAKEN
I really feel letdown and know I can not be alone.
There is no way to reach out to anyone in their company.
It leaves the impression that nobody seems to care about their customers.
This issue has been causing me grief since December and now it is April and still no answers or anyone reaching out to me to rectify the issue.
I even tried to call their Executive Office but there was no way to get a call through to a human only a machine that couldn't complete the call.
I absolutely love shopping at Kohl's! On top of their already great prices, you can earn Kohl's cash and rewards discounts for even more savings!
Kohl's is great store. They have a lot of selections. The discounts they offer are huge! I order from there a lot. My orders always come on time and the orders are correct. Their customer service is fantastic! Any issue you have will be taken care of immediately and correctly. I highly recommend them. You won't be sorry!
My online order was lost and confirmed that it appears to be lost by Kohls customer service. Yet, when I requested another duplicate shipment be sent out was told that I need to wait another week to be sure it is really lost. How many people including myself who can read and have seen the shipment has been lost does it take for Kohls to recognize the facts. Forget customer service, they will take your money and you need to just wait until Kohls feels they may want to help you with their shipping issues. Goodbye Kohls, you're the next Sears who will have empty stores.
I ordered a pair of jeans online, but the shipment must have been lost. I have made three calls so far trying to get my full refund. The first person I spoke to said the order had not shipped yet, but I received an email saying it had been delivered. The second person issued a partial refund. The order total was $39.99. She issued a refund of $30.30. The third person I spoke with said the second person didn't refund the shipping, however, the shipping total was less than the balance owed. He offered me Kohls cash which I declined. Not falling for that one again! He said he would refund $8.99 for the shipping. I told him that was not the balance that I was owed. In short, he said the second person did not refund all of the taxes and he could not do anything about it. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but there was no one "available". Yeah, right. Now I either call back for a supervisor or report it to my credit card company. Oh, it has been several days, and the amount he said he would refunded still isn't showing on my card statement.
I had a $11.00 balance on my card which l was late paying by 1 month and 4 days due to my unknowingly thought was zero balance.
Instead of Kohls Alerting me to that balance by text or email, l found out thru Credit wise alerting me that my rating had dropped 27 points!
I found out why than called Kohls and realized all items l had brought back for credit didn't cover what was owed supposedly.
I can not trust a company that treats long and good standing customers like this.
I've always been happy with Kohl's and received great service! Now mainly ordering on line! And thank you Kohl's for making responsible decisions on companies you will support! I'll now go do some shopping at Kohl's on line
I ordered some Dolce & Gabbana cologne on February 5,2022 for a Valentine's Day present for my husband. Today is February 21, and still no cologne. I never received the cologne. I have called Kohl's customer service several times with no help at all. Worse customer service I have ever experienced. I have never had this problem with Macy's, Amazon, eBay etc. I will be cutting my Kohl's card up. They try to present themselves as a high class store, but they lack in customer service. Bye Kohl's. Macy's has better deals and excellent customer service.
Now everything about the store is unappealing. At one point they had great savings but now Ross/TJ max/homegoods/Marshall's is the way to go.
I ordered two Christmas door wreaths from Kohls in early December and the promised delivery date was well before Christmas. When they didn't appear I tried to call and I was told there were over 400 callers ahead of me in line. I tried to contact them online and the same thing, I could not cancel or even talk to anyone. The wreaths appeared about two weeks after Christmas.
I love kohl's! They always have great deals and their products are great quality! My favorite is when they offer kohl's cash!
Answer: Don't know about Canada, but NO THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE! They can't even figure out to send a glass picture frame in a box instead of a plastic bag. TWICE! And forget about a refund. Shop elsewhere, anywhere else.
Answer: Yes. See the back of your receipt. It says you can return items anytime for any reason.
