First mistake was to find this place online. The "in stock" label was not correct and the "back order" label is two weeks behind it's date. The shipping charge is only an estimate where I was charged another $20 on top of it. Their emails are invoices which does not contain any tracking information. I ordered two tongs and they only had one in stock. The first shipment came two weeks after the order was placed. Now they can't "cancel" the cutting board or the missing tong because "it's tied to the product coming into the building." I never heard such BS in my life. The shipping department runs the place and they don't know what they are doing. Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing... STAY AWAY!
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered a coffee maker. We used it and it did not do what it said it would. When we called to return it, we were told since we used it, they could not take it back. Asked if we didn't use it, how do we know it was broken? They said they don't sell used items. No where on my slip was there anything pertaining to the return policy. They did not disclose their return policy or make it clear to the purchaser. They push everything back to the manufacturer. So in other words, if you buy something and it does not work, you never should have opened it and they won't refund you.
Ordered this product on December 1st and just called on December 14 to hear that "well the manufacturer was out so you may be getting it in another week or so". Would of been nice if Katom let us know, we could have made other arrangements. No place on this site to track orders either. Last order from us Katom!
Made purchase, at checkout I was told it would ship within 5-7 business days. Less than 48 hours later I received an email that it would be shipped in 14+ business days. Placed order on November 30th, after speaking to customer service, I was told it would ship apx December 28th. So much for 5-7 business days!
Charging a restocking fee and a return shipping fee is rediculous. Lost my bus and will be sure to spread the word not to order from katom.is this how they build a customer base?
I would advise any business owner to avoid ordering anything from this site. The item that was shipped to me was nothing like the picture that was posted on their site. When I called to request a refund and complained that the item was not what was shown own their site, they stated that the picture was provided by the manufacturer and if there is a difference in the product, it's not their fault. I advised them that it's their website and that THEY have the RESPONSIBILITY to provide accurate pictures of all their products. The fault should not lie on the customer. When I asked to return the item, they wanted me to pay for shipping to return it to them and also charge me a restocking fee. I told the representative that I won't be shopping from this site again and I advise all business to stay away. You may pay less for the product on this site but you lose on customer service. STAY AWAY!
I ordered a Lodge 410 hibachi in May of this year, 3 months later it was still on "backorder" Each time I contacted them after the new delivery date came and went, they came up with a new delivery date with the same excuse it was "backordered" All the negative reviews are spot on!
I only ordered from this company because the fryer was labeled "Quick Ship". It was very time sensitive, and was told it would arrive in 1-3 business days. After waiting 7 days, I finally called to find out where it was. They informed me it was on back- order. I explained over and over to the numerous people I talked to that I had to have it immediately. One operator told me he would check the warehouse to see if they had any 'scratch and dent' models on hand, and he would call me back. Of course he didn't. I called back again and told them to refund my money in my account so that I could purchase from another company. They told me they have to get an ok from the manufacturer first ( for an item that doesn't even exist). So, they are keeping my $1,300 plus until? I am calling my lawyer. This company is a total scam, and should be shut down. Nothing but robbery!
I ORDERED FOCUS FOOD PRODUCTS... THROUGH KATOM. PAID 4 MONTHS BACK AND AFTER GETTING PAYMENT SAID ITEM NOT IN STOCK AND SINCE 4 MONTHS PASSING STILL SAYING SAME. I THINK BOTH KATOM AND FOCUS FOOD IS A BOGUS ENTITY... GOING TO TAKE UP THE MATTER WITH ICC.
Purchased two water dispensers for an event. I accidentally gave the wrong address by switching two numbers. However, they never contacted me to alert me that this was returned to them until a few days before my event. Not only did they not alert me but they gave my order to someone else, charged me a restocking fee and when I tried to reorder these because these were the specific ones our client wanted... they were on backorder. So now, I was charged a restocking fee, didn't get the product we wanted and had to pay for expedited shipping to get a alternate choice replacement set shipped in time for the event. Calling in for anything OTHER than a new order which they take your call right away then, but for any issues etc, you are on hold forever! There is only ONE PERSON in the entire place who actually is an asset to that company and knows what he is doing and his name is Eric! Ask for him! That is the only reliable help you will get.
Will never do business with them again. If they do not refund my restocking fee, I will contact the BBB.
I ordered a $32 napkin holder from their online store. When the item arrived, it was of terrible quality: all the metal soldering spots were clearly visible on each corner. I requested an authorization to return the item and was told that there would be a 20% restocking fee though their web site says "All returned items totaling less than $100.00 will be subject to a 0% restock fee plus the return shipping."
Bought a Kitchen Aid mixer from Katom, received it no problem but it had a defect on the body. Called Katom who sent me to Kitchen Aid and from the serial no, I was told the warranty had expired. I just bought the mixer so I was in shock. Kitchen Aid will make things right but I will never shop at Katom again, unethical practices. They have attractive prices but expired warranties?! Come on, they could at least let you know there is no warranty.
I have ordered a REVERSIBLE table top, paid and waited for it... When didn't receive it call Katom and they said the reason for not shipping it was they didn't know what color I wanted, Mahogany or Oak - HELLO! It is reversible - Mahogany one side and Oak on the other side.

Absolutely awful. After placing an order online with clear instructions to contact me if my order, placed on a Monday morning, wasn't going to be shipped that day, they waited until Wednesday afternoon to inform me that the items I ordered were not in stock and would not ship for 10-14 days. This was time sensitive and I needed to know for my clients sake. Upon voicing my frustrations with customer service, and explaining that I would now have to order from somewhere else and use 2nd day air which cost me $170.00, they could have cared less. They offered no type of compensation through three ranks of command. Hideous way to run a business. If I drop the ball with my customers, I make it up to them and own my mistake.
I then contacted Websteraunt who was able to get my order out, 2nd day air after placing my order at 1:45 on Wednesday afternoon.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! These people are outright thieves and must have been formed by a con artist! I ordered 2 replacement heads for my dust mop. The specifications are exactly the dimensions that I need and the picture is exactly what I have. I received a completely different product, but with the same item number as what I ordered! When I requested a return label, I received an email 2 days later that said, "Sorry, but since your stuff was on clearance, it's non-refundable". WHAT?! When I called customer service (Heather O'Donell) I was told that the picture had a disclaimer directly underneath it (it was in microscopic writing and all it said was that the COLOR may not be the same!) DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES! Luckily I bought the products on AMEX who assured me a full refund (now THAT'S customer service!) and I will make sure Te BBB and other websites are warned about this FRAUDULENT business!
Definitely won't do business with Katom again! Ordered an attachment for my wife's Kitchenaid mixer as a Christmas present. (1) The delivery went ok, but they unnecessarily printed very clearly on the shipping label what the contents were. So when my wife received the package - 2 weeks before Christmas - she knew immediately what she was getting. (2) When my wife opened it on Christmas, she decided this was not what she had in mind. No problem; will send it back, I said. Called Katom, got a shipping authorization number, and sent it back. They never sent confirmation of having received it, so finally I called, and they told me they had already issued a credit - for 75% of what I had paid! They said that they have a policy - never mentioned to me until then - that there is a 25% "restocking fee" on all orders over $100! Imagine! It theoretically cost them $36.24 to return this item to inventory - which is bogus. If it had been a $500 item, they would have charged $125 to "restock" the item. How in the name of sense does it cost more to restock one item over another? Stupid policy, major ripoff! Their "restocking fee" must be pretty close to their profit margin! Now they'll turn around and make another profit off the same item! Steer clear of these folks, for sure! Definitely pays to read the reviews; theirs are not good - but I didn't take the time to read them beforehand. Caveat emptor!
I highly recommend this company to anyone buying a Kitchenaid stand mixer.
I had wanted a Satin Copper one for a few years but the price was prohibitive.
Then I saw their special and it was significantly less than anyone else 's. I called a couple of times and was uniformly met with patience and competence by the staff. When I ordered the machine it came promptly to time and worked like a charm.
And yes, Virginia it did make perfect mashed potatoes just as the saleswoman said it would.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! They sell defective products and then when you try and get it replaced under warranty they charge you shipping all over again. The customer service representatives are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I asked to speak with a manager and she was even more rude. They refused to cover the shipping and handling for the replacement and when I asked if losing a customer was worth a shipping and handling refund she said she didn't care. I will never order from this company again. Oh and my soup kettle broke after 1 week. They have horrible products on top of everything else.
This place is awful will not refund or Honor their Policy bought a cotton candy machine piece of junk. Did not work at all. Customer Service is rude Unprofessional tried to speak with a Supervisor they Ignore you. Stay away from this place they just want your money rip off
Our unit was promised for a Wed. Delivery, it came a day late, in all farness to this company: Ka tom- (after the fact I read previous reviews after it did not arrive) our True T-49 2 Door Commercial refrigerator came packaged well and upon unboxing, in pristine condition.
We saved and it came from we believe Tennessee where the vendor is located all the way to Upstate New York to our Juvenile Facility.
Answer: False, they emailed me promptly. I do not write reviews but because of the people on here misrepresenting the company I almost missed out on a great price with free shipping. The experience was great from start to finish. Why is every company on this site so negative
