I've always been completely satisfied with the technical help from iYogi. Everyone is very courteous and knowledgeable.
Up-sell, bait/switch, phone calls forever after. Better alternative: Get some young local computer-nerd to do it for 1/10 price.
Always available in times of need. Just sit back and let them work. I can't ask for more. Very pleased with the service.
These people provide some really good after sales service. This was my third visit to their site. Thanks iyogi
Had a great experience with the I yogi team.
Technician took over my problem, which was serious, and fixed it.
I am vary happy with the iyogi tex. Support there always ready to help and are so good at fixing my computer
I have been a customer for over 5 years. They are available 24/7 and my problem is solved within 30 minutes.
Stay away from iYogi. At best they are clueless; at worst, they are crooks.
I called them because of a compatibility issue between a brand new Windows 8 PC and a 3 year old Epson printer. I thought I was on Epson's driver download site but somehow got intercepted by a live tech support person at iYogi. She took control of my computer and immediately commented on how slow it was running. "Don't worry though," she said. "I'll clean up your computer and get it running properly as soon as I fix your printer problem." 20 minutes later, no progress on the printer problem, but my PC was running even slower and scary pop-ups were appearing on the screen saying things like, "Your computer is about to crash."
"See this box?" She moved the cursor to one of the pop-ups. "Your computer has some serious viruses, but I can fix it. Why don't you sit back and have a cup of coffee while I work?"
"Who''s paying for this?" I wanted to know. It was like pulling teeth to get a straight answer, but finally she said that while a lot of the work was free, it would take $150 to fully sanitize my computer.
Being convinced that iYogi had deliberately caused the problems they were now offering to fix, I pulled the plug on the Live Tech Support. Then I went to work: turned back on the firewall that had been turned off; removed 4 spyware programs that had mysteriously appeared; went to the real Epson site and downloaded the right driver; installed it - and everything works. But I am still worried about identity theft etc. I mean, God knows what they sucked out of my computer while they had access.
Oh yes... my computer miraculously recovered its speed... after I detached iYogi's drogue chute;-)
These guys are crazy... they tell you they want to tune your computer and then want to upsell you $479.00 of whatever
Stay away from them
If they received more stars, it is because they had friends write review. They don't deserve 1star. Had to cancel credit card
My wireless was unsecured, and I tried to make it secure, but I couldn't figure out how to reconfigure it. I could not access the internet at that point, so I called my niece to get the phone number for Linksys. She gave me a phone number which ended up being iYogi. When they answered the phone, I asked if it was Linksys and "yes" was the response. I was then connected to a technician who started working on my problem. After she had worked on it for a while, she said she had to ask her supervisor about it, and then I was told that I had to pay $199 to correct the problem. Of course they emphasized that it included a year of technical support for the computer, an iphone and an ipad. I said I don't have the two later, and I asked if it would be cheaper to just get a new router and fix it that way. They then negated that. I initially paid the fee, thinking that I was dealing with Linksys, and then I asked if there was a cheaper plan. They said I could pay $169 for just the computer. At the end of the session, the technician finally said that iYogi is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Linksys, to which I replied that I had thought I had called Linksys. After the call, I googled iYogi, and it did market itself with the Linksys name on the things that came up. I then called iYogi back and said that I wanted a refund because I was misled, in what really amounts to a bait and switch, and the customer service rep. Said that I would then be charged $59.99 for a one time session. That had never been given as an option before, and I insisted that I get a refund because they misrepresented themselves. I was told that the refund would be processed immediately, but I wonder after reading the reviews on this. I now wonder if I was also foolish for allowing them remote access to my computer. I will certainly be wary next time I need assistance. The one good thing about iYogi was that the technicians were very polite.
IYOGI has become like a family over the year to me, I had tried several different computer repair and protections for computers and need one that was very good. A friend told me well you know you mite want to try this company they do a lot of work for a lot of high class business and should be able to help you better after all you are a old lady. So I took her add vise as every thing I had to take my computer in to the local tecks some times it was 3 weeks before I got it back so yes I called IYOGI THEY ARE HAVE BEEN VERY GOOD TO ME POLITE AND VERY KNOWLAGEABLE TECKS they do what they can to help you and it does not take all darn day even for the worst of problems. Thank god for IYOGI computer internet in my book they should get 10 stars not just 3 or 4 (I have only had one problem and that was late night I had a problem so I went to live help and got a 3 party person worker who really messed up but I contacted IYOGI and they tried thier best to make things right) they sell id protection and computer services and even warrentys and is fairly reasonable if you check with other places you well see for your self they are good at what they do and they are affordable with in reason and 99.9 1/2 are truly tops!.
They Not provide Good Services,
Even they charge lot of money without helping customers. All is FAKE
I am appalled at the level of horror stories on here. I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE I lost $500 to these guys. IYogi was able to talk me into signing up with them initially by offering some free tech support. Once they gained access to my computer, they showed me a multitude of things that were wrong with it. Unfortunately, I was not sure what all of these things were, so I was suckered in, like many of you. I can only hope that this reaches you before you make a similar mistake and lose money.
I was able to follow the advice from other people that were scammed and used the safepcfix.com people that were suggested to get this software cleaned out. James was able to get me a refund on the iYogi support services and I was able to get my money back within a few weeks. Luckily, that was not an issue and I was taken care of in the long run.
If you haven't hired iyogi, DO NOT. If you have iyogi, act fast. The software that they install on your computer opens it up to viruses and malware attacks. I actually contracted a virus (or it was already there and not cleaned up by iyogi,) that wiped out my emails and caused the computer to have trouble opening up. They wiped out my existing virus protection in favor of theirs, which did NOT help prevent me getting infections at all.
If you have given iYogi money, follow some of the suggestions here, or contact someone to help get it back. Safepcfix seems to be American. I did call them twice and they were aware of the iyogi software and knew what to do. Yes, it took a couple hours, but they did all of it for me and I wasn't tied up for very long at all.
If you decide to keep iyogi, which if you've read any of these reviews, you will get rid of them ASAP, be careful when they have access to your computer. I've seen my technician going through picture folders and file folders called "taxes 2013, 2014, and 2015.) I am thinking they were interested in seeing my tax return documents which have personal information on them. This could have been a potential identity fraud issue. I immediately took control and shut off the machine when this happened.
Tread lightly folks. Don't become a statistic!
My interaction with iYogi began when I was experiencing a problem with the Norton Internet Security installation on my computer. A Google search on the error message came up with what looked like the Norton site for customer help, which turned out to be a deceptive ad created by iYogi to lure potential customers.
I thought I was talking to Norton customer support when I agreed to give them access to my computer to diagnose the problem. They told me that I had a number of problems on my computer which I agreed to let them fix. They lead me to believe that my computer would run better when these problems were taken care of. I still thought I was on the phone with Norton.
After I was asked to agree to pay for this service I realized that I was not talking to Norton, but to iYogi. At that point I should have said "no" and researched the company, but the technician was already working on my computer, and I foolishly agreed to pay without the research. It was a stupid move on my part. I should have known better, did know better, I admit. When I later did the research I found quite a number of complaints about iYogi's deceptive practices.
My computer did seem to run better for a couple of days but then slowed down worse than it was before I ever started the process. I uninstalled all of the applications that iYogi had installed on my computer and then the performance was at least back to where it was before iYogi got involved.
I also came to realize later that the solution to my original problem with Norton Internet Security required a simple fix which I could have done myself if I hadn't been mislead to the iYogi site.
In short, I got involved with iYogi though a deceptive link, agreed to use their service after they lied to me about being able to improve my performance, and did not receive any benefit from their service.
Their services were decent, until I decided not to renew. They kept calling me to try to renew and I told them on several occasions I did not wish to renew. After the renewal period was up, they called me a month later to tell me that they could not charge my credit card because it was rejected. At that point, I was so upset that they even tried to charge my card when I did not want to renew that I just couldn't take it anymore. I told them I never authorized a renewal or for them to charge my card. They told me I still owed them money because their software was installed on my computer and still "protecting" it. Their software does not come with antivirus or anything to "protect" my computer. If it did, I would not have had to purchase antivirus software which caught so many things.
The software they speak of is similar to LogmeIn. In order for them to troubleshoot your computer they have to have access to it. That was the only way the software was used. When I did not renew with them they tried to extort me by telling me the software was still installed. This made no sense. I quickly uninstalled the software just like you would any other program.
They are a crooked company, very aggressive in sales and always try to get you to purchase software that you can get cheaper at Frys or through Amazon.
My recommendation for those currently using iYogi is that if you do not wish to renew, quickly cancel your credit card or make sure that your credit card company denies all charges iYogi attempts to make. Even if you don't want to renew, they will still charge your card and try to convince you to keep their services.
They should be investigated for fraud.
Iyogi representatives are alway personable and knowlegeable. They will stay with you no matter how long it takes to fix your problem!
It was late on a Saturday when my new computer would not recognize my HP all in one printer. I tried several things and not being very techincal minded I finally turned to Windows Customer Support. I needed the computer to print a document needed the next day. Then began the nightmare. I was hooked to iyogi. The first thing they did was have me lof on to logmein so the tech could work on my computer. That went fine but the tech said my computer had numerous registry problem and even shoed me an error page. They said they would need to install Support Dcok so they could have the right tools to fix the problem. They also said there would be a $299.99 fee for a two year subscription. Well the Printer problem was fixed but at the expense of the bbot up time going from about 1 minute to at least 8 minutes and sometimes as much as 12 minutes. I called iyogi two more time and again turned over the control of my comuter to their tech. I have had almost all programs (which were not very many) not turned on at startup, that is fine but the boot up spped is still terrible. I have called customer service several times to try to cancel the subscription to the tech support. I am told many things but never that they will refund the money. Finally today Tuesday they agreed to change the subscription to one year and refund $130 I hope thta really occurs. I have a good friend working on the computer at this time, he has had a very difficult time uninstalling support dock and says that we may have to reformat the hard drive inoder to get the computer restored. If you can avoid iyogi then please do. Also shre this around.
Now that IYOGI is in trouble, I got a call from an "IYOGI TECH" named "Kevin." He claimed that IYOGI was going out of business and he was calling to give me a refund. So first he asked to control my computer remotely, as they always do. Then he started asking for my bank account information so he could refund the money into my checking account. I gave it to him, and he set up some account through my online banking through which to transfer the money. However, the transfer did not go through. So he asked for my ATM CARD information to use in the transfer. Like a dullard, I gave it to him. He said he also needed my driver's license number. When I asked why, he gave me something that didn't make sense, but I had been working with IYOGI for so many years, I wasn't thinking.
Finally he asked me to shutdown my computer for 24 hours so that he could successfully remove all the IYOGI software. Then he would call me in the morning and the refund would be complete.
However, the next morning when I opened my computer, Windows was nowhere in sight -- Only a small box asking for a 9 digit password. Quickly I opened my iPad mini (which he didn't know I had) and opened my online banking information. To my horror, during the night this man had transferred most of the money in my checking account to the account he set up the day before from which he said he would refund my money.
Immediately I called the bank, LifeLock, the police and the credit bureaus. Luckily, between my bank and LifeLock, I got my money back. But I had to re-install Windows on my computer, because I don't trust anything he did to it.
What's worse is he had the gall to call that morning to try to continue the scam.
DO NOT TRUTH ANY OFFER FOR A REFUND!
Answer: Oh, please, how many people are you willing to let "piggyback" on your lawsuit? I'm so fed up with scammers/shoddy services from companies. IYogi played a good game in the beginning but now it is in the proverbial toilet.
