The only thing that I'm not sure about is that one of the VHS tape conversions didn't have any sound on the digitized copy. It had it on the original VHS tape when I last viewed it. I no longer have a device so play it on, so am wondering if this is a flaw in the process or the original.

I got my tapes done except for my Dr phil tape. Unfortunately copywrite law made them unable to convert the data. It was the christmas special my family was on.

I was quoted 4 weeks from my approval payment for my video to be digitized, and I still have not received my order, almost six weeks later. They are currently advertising for 4 weeks. I sent a 30-minute video, so the problem is not with my order. The video sat in the production queue for 4 weeks before they even began production. There are no answers, and every time I call, they extend the wait time for various reasons. It feels like they are making it up as they go along. I will never use this service again. It is not transparent with the lead times, and no answers from customer service.

This company is nothing short of a scam. Not only did they overcharge me for the box, but they also charged me for converting five VHS tapes and ultimately didn't convert a single one. They claimed it was due to broadcast content on the tapes, which they allegedly "can't convert." Despite this, they refused to refund me for the tapes, effectively pocketing $75 plus shipping costs – a total of $120 wasted. This company took my money and provided no service in return. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

We definitely appreciate our customers, and we're sorry that your experience didn't meet your expectations. When we processed the videotapes that you sent in, there were four that did not contain any home video content. The video footage was all copyrighted recorded TV shows. By law, iMemories is not able to upload copyrighted media such as Hollywood movies, television shows, and news broadcasts to your account without a copyright release.
There were also two videotapes that had damaged ribbons. We were able to repair and process one of the damaged tapes. The other tape we were not able to repair. The outside housing did not have any screws in it, so we were unable to open the housing to repair the ribbon.
We do not automatically refund for tapes that contain copyrighted material, because the extensive digital conversion work was completed. We do make note of the copyright restrictions on our website, as well as in the Starter Guide that is included inside the Safeship Kit.
It is our goal to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible. We have processed a refund for the tapes that could not be processed and the Safeship Kit. We hope this action helps to ease any concerns or issues you may have experienced. Our aim is always to ensure your satisfaction and trust in our service.
