The films i sent in were over 57 years old and i wasn't sure anything was worth salvaging. They were movies my husband made while he was in Vietnam in the army. I was very surprised anything was to be seen on the tapes. My husband died 4 years ago so some of the photos of him that were retrievable were such a blessing. Thank you.
I'm very pleased with having all my videos digital so I can watch on my phones. The only issue I'm having, (call me anal), but I'm going through each tape returned and finding them, making me an index in order to know what and where everything is. The biggest issue I'm having, I have approximately 90 videos, the names given to them with iMemories does not make it easy to find them all. They apply 2 labels to each video with a number. I think it would make it so much easier if they would name the video the same as the number assigned to the tape. It's taking me hours to get through all of them and I'm still not done. Again, this is me being anal, but I don't want to throw any of them away until I know I have them all documented.
After my mom passed I found 1000+ photos taken by and of my parents during their life. I needed the ability to share them with sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles. IMemories turned out to be the cleanest, easiest and fastest way for everyone to see and download any memories/photos that might interest them.
I had small VHS tapes I could not view. As it turns out, the quality of our tapes was not very good, so of course the digital transfer is not as good as we had hoped. I don't think IMemories is responsible for this, but it makes the result somewhat disappointing. Know the quality of your tapes, etc. before you send then in.
The overall experience was great. I would say it would be nice to receive an email once you receive my box. I had to keep tracking the shipment to make sure it arrived. Its also unclear if I did not purchase the storage, do I lose access to the videos on the site. On one of my videos, it seems as if it was put together in an incorrect order. For example, a video of a sports game started and then a party video played and then the rest of the game was after that so I don't know how that happened but overall, this was a good experience and I will continue to use this company. If I were a repeat customer, there should be a discount on future orders and the legacy box should not be so expensive.
This company is nothing short of a scam. Not only did they overcharge me for the box, but they also charged me for converting five VHS tapes and ultimately didn't convert a single one. They claimed it was due to broadcast content on the tapes, which they allegedly "can't convert." Despite this, they refused to refund me for the tapes, effectively pocketing $75 plus shipping costs – a total of $120 wasted. This company took my money and provided no service in return. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

We definitely appreciate our customers, and we're sorry that your experience didn't meet your expectations. When we processed the videotapes that you sent in, there were four that did not contain any home video content. The video footage was all copyrighted recorded TV shows. By law, iMemories is not able to upload copyrighted media such as Hollywood movies, television shows, and news broadcasts to your account without a copyright release.
There were also two videotapes that had damaged ribbons. We were able to repair and process one of the damaged tapes. The other tape we were not able to repair. The outside housing did not have any screws in it, so we were unable to open the housing to repair the ribbon.
We do not automatically refund for tapes that contain copyrighted material, because the extensive digital conversion work was completed. We do make note of the copyright restrictions on our website, as well as in the Starter Guide that is included inside the Safeship Kit.
It is our goal to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible. We have processed a refund for the tapes that could not be processed and the Safeship Kit. I very much enjoyed watching my family members on our tapes. Sadly three members of our family are no longer with us and it was heart warming seeing them at gatherings and holidays. These Hi8 tapes were from the early 2000's. The viewing quality was excellent.

I had videos in three different formats going back 50 years. I didn't even have a way to play them anymore. Now they are all in one place and completely accessible. Very very happy with iMemories.

My old home videos were quickly converted so I was able to see and access them online. Best decision I made to have them digitized. My original cassettes were also returned quickly and neatly packaged.

Great experience with iMemories. I did include two (2) 1TB flash drives I specifically asked to have the movies loaded onto which they did not. Was a bit frustrated about that bc I had to do that manually when I received my film back. I understand they wish to have us buy their flash drives, but not at that price. All in all, pleased with the results.
My children were sooooo excited about these videos. My TV wasn't "smart" so they brought me a new TV so I can watch these at our leisure. I'd never seen videos of my Aunt and Uncle's Texas wedding in 1942. WOW! Guess that was on the reel to reel. I don't recall ever seeing it before. Videos of my High School friends and gatherings; along with videos of my Parents (RIP) playing poolside with my children. What a gift! Thank you for what you do. This is amazing!

The process was EXACTLY as outlined online. We used the service to digitize our 1994 wedding video for our 30th Anniversary and to share s copy with our adult children.

Every return shipment comes with a complimentary prepaid FedEx shipping label and another promotional discount, in the box that can be reused to send in additional memories to be processed. When we do the digital conversion of videotapes, we record the tape from beginning to end. Our team will then remove any extended blank spots, accidental footage, and copyrighted material, so only your cherished home videos are uploaded to your account. There is no possible way for a videotape to be in uploaded to your account in a different order. We can certainly look into any issues you are seeing.
